The hashrate is still over 1 GH. Does it really takes so long to show correct hashrate?

720 blocks for full correction. o believe we are at 100-200 blocks in. lazy to check

Thx for the info. We are only at block 1546086. Damn this could take a while.

its worth it. jst throw any hash your willing to spare on it. Important thing is to keep decentralization alive. I do wish monero team will also adjust difficulty some way every code change. 720 is lot of blocks.

I've had two Ryzen CPU on supportxmr.com since this morning.  Around 800 h/s.  The pool still shows 0.0000000000 due.

I realize I'm not some hashing powerhouse here but shouldn't there be at least some XMR due by now?  Seriously the pool is carrying that figure out to ten decimal places.

SupportXMR is a PPLNS pool, so you only get paid when you find a block (and that block matures, 60 blocks later).

Usually this isn't an issue because the pool finds blocks often and it only takes a couple of hours to mature, but the network is going really slow now because of the sudden drop in network hashrate.

Its been discussed and even some initial code offered.

They don't make changes in haste, but it is something they are aware of and want to resolve.

relax network lost a lot of hash and still needs to adjust difficulty. it will likely be more profitable in the days to come
With current difficulty adjustment algorithm of Monero after the hardfork, how long will it take to adjust its difficulty for the first time?
Will it been adjusted after each block or specific span of time (one- or two-week period, for instance)?
thanks, bro.

It is slightly adjusted after each block. Probably full adjustment will take a few days, with partial adjustment sooner (some has happened already).

BTW, ignoring price changes, mining profitability has not changed from before (except to increase a bit since the difficulty has dropped a bit). Slower blocks on the network does not affect profitability of any individual miner, although it may affect your variance. As the difficulty continues to decline profitability will continue to increase.

bro it does not affect if the difficulty is adjusted right away. but since it is not im pretty sure profitability is down atm. And my rig says the same. but it is necessary to delay difficulty adjustment since too fast and big hash miners can play the network and take advantage of it

And you're right.  It took over 24 hours but the pool does show a small amount due this morning.

Question is do I switch my spare 1080ti to this algo.  Shame they are so terrible at mining monero.

im checking other cryptonight coins so far i have not seen a huge spike of hashrate going in them. there are increases but not as much as one would expect after a huge hashrate from monero disappeared. Makes me think that most of the mysterious hashes in monero was caused by botnets.

Your thread contains kindly words and very informative. At this point I quoted, you made an very important tutorial for miners to join the party without fears of losing electricity costs for low profit coin.

That's because all the botnet and ASICs hashrate is still at now_obsolete v6 Monero (or XMO as some are calling it now I believe).

yup but if it was asics then they would probably go to the next biggest algo. we should be getting a huge spike from other coins. there is a spike but its no where near the hash lost on monero. Checking the distribution of reported hash rates per pool my guesstimate is we lost about 75% of monero hash rate

Well shoot.  Tried running XMR STAK to get my 1080ti in the picture and it's failing.  Doesn't barely even get started and I receive this error:

[CUDA] Error gpu 0: <c:/xmr-stak/xmrstak/backend/nvidia/nvcc_code/cuda_extra.cu>:365

Crashes almost immediately doesn't really give me much to go on here to fix it.  GPU is at 85% tdp and core is overclocked +125.  Memory at defaults.  Settings work fine for ccminer-phi.  I doubt the overclock is the issue here.  I tried launching it as administrator and it didn't help either.

Is this the right time to buy Monero ? I am new to crypto and doing some good research on crypto.

I know hard fork is splitting block chain to two networks. Can any one please guide me what is exact impact of hardfork on price? is it good or bad?

Monero has activated the fork to counter the ASIC miners but it looks like they have split into four different projects with this fork, i am not even sure what the price would be in those coins and i am even sure bitmain is behind one of the coins and i am not sure how this thing end up. Either way waiting for more news and what i find is that two coins namely Monero-Classic (XMC) and Monero Classic are from Asian countries but not sure about the other two according to bitcoinmagazine .

I do not think that there will be no impact in the price now as the fork is already being applied to counter ASIC mining, i do not think this is the right time to get the coins as there will be multiple blockchains and really do not know the security feature of the other, so always be careful while move the coins in the initial stages.

Here are my numbers:

SupportXMR mined 31 blocks out of first 130 V7 blocks, with less than 36MH/s, so the network hashrate is:

36 x 130 / 31 =  151 MH/s
