Verge is not private? I thought that yes. Look on their site, you can find there this information: A secure and anonymous cryptocurrency. I agree with you. Verge actually has private feature. But no one of them can surpass over XMR. Last I read, XVG (Verge) is only route the traffic through TOR, not exactly a privacy feature for a cryptocurrency.

Hi. Does Monero's wallet has any issues with Chinese firewall? Do they need TOR or/end OBFS4? ty

I read and saw many comments saying that XMR would be banned? What does the research team say? Or is it just a way for XMR to lose value when skeptics sell massively and then raise prices?

IDK but if there wasn't a risk of crypto currencies being banned that would remove about half of the utility of Monero. Monero being banned would further strengthen the case for Monero, not the opposite.

In order to prevent money laundering and other criminal activity, Japan’s Financial Services Agency, is quietly pressuring cryptocurrency exchanges to give up handling Monero (XMR), Zcash (ZEC), and Dash (DASH) and other cryptocurrencies favored by criminals and hackers. Sources close to the FSA confirmed that they were taking all available steps to discourage the use of certain alternative virtual currencies that have become attractive to the underworld because they are difficult to track. In September of last year, the European Union’s law enforcement agency, Europol, released a report that warned “other cryptocurrencies such as Monero, Ethereum and Zcash are gaining popularity within the digital underground.” Criminals, who were some of the earliest adopters of Bitcoin, have increasingly dropped that cryptocurrency for transactions in favor of Monero and other less traceable "altcoins." According to the Japanese authorities, it is very difficult, if not impossible, to identify the recipients of currencies like Monero via a blockchain or any other public ledger. The anonymity makes the coins ideal for money laundering. The blockchain (public ledger) for bitcoin, makes it possible for seasoned investigators to follow the money. Increasingly, cyber criminals choose these new "privacy coins" when they demand ransom payments or engage in sales of illegal goods. The FSA is particularly adverse to Monero, especially after it was reported in January that North Korea may be mining the currency to raise funds.

Thank you Wownero currently uses bulletproofs on its mainnet You mean there are devs out there who are capable and willing to take code that is made by our devs that is still undergoing testing and push it to their main net before it is fully vetted!? Now that's a project I want to get behind! According to the Japanese authorities, it is very difficult, if not impossible, to identify the recipients of currencies like Monero via a blockchain or any other public ledger... The FSA is particularly adverse to Monero...
What a nice endorsement.

What a nice endorsement. "devs" Anyway, Wownero is basically worthless so why not? If it works, then it will exist as probably the most fairly launched Cryptonote with ringCT and enforced min mixin from block 0, and bulletproofs from block 6969, and what I think is reasonable five min block time. If it blows up, then ohwell. Edit: Gingeropolous made this relevant commit to readme file the other day: https://github.com/wownero/wownero/commit/c0245860d8dffdfa22da742dce7c5895282308a5All pull requests will be considered safe until the US dollar valuation of 1 Wownero equals $1000. After this valuation has been reached, more reseach will be needed to introduce experimental cryptography and/or code into the codebase.

What a nice endorsement. Yeah it's cool that small cap coins will test our tech for us free of charge before we roll it out. Works for them as marketing and Monero as a second testbed, best of both worlds! And yes, thank you Japan, squeeze your fist and see how many of your people flock to Monero.

There are many rumors that our coin will be removed from poloniex. However. There is not a clear message coming from dev. I could think that it was a force majeure that reduced the value of XMR coin, a shark's trap, maybe.
I have never heard of such news. There are many false news. Monero is the latest rising king and poloniex has no reason to remove it.We do not have to worry about this.
