will we really get 10 xmv against 1 xmr?
Not only that, but you get compromised privacy on both chains too!

When fork happens, the difficulty, will it be the same? if so, probably we'll get stuck in the first block after fork

The difficulty will be the same. If the hashrate drops substantially it will simply take a while longer to find the first block after the fork height.

It has been suggested somewhere that moving all the XMR tokens to an interim XMR wallet before the XMV fork and then moving it back to the original XMR wallet after the fork would mitigate the security/privacy threat on the original XMR wallet regarding this event. Is this a valid method to a certain extent? If so, what are the other underlying or remaining vulnerability after employing such a method and how could it be improved?

A sort of technical analysis/evaluation of such particular method and its residual aspects is what I am looking for and not just a link to a blog. Just about anybody nowadays could blog their opinion. If we take all blogs at face value, we all would have bought the Brooklyn Bridge already. Thanks for the effort anyway.

Sure but if you think through the logic that just means that an xmv will be worth 1/10th of the already low amount that it would have been worth if they hadn't moved the decimal place. It has been suggested somewhere that moving all the XMR tokens to an interim XMR wallet before the XMV fork and then moving it back to the original XMR wallet after the fork would mitigate the security/privacy threat on the original XMR wallet regarding this event. *edit* or you know only spend on one of the two chains.

The Monero team has some mitigations almost ready for this. They will be included in the coming builds, which should be available before the key reuse clone. One of the mitigations is a shared ring database, which will remember which outputs use which ring, so you can reuse the same rings when spending an output on different chains. Ideally, both Monero and any key reusing clone would have this mitigation merged. However, should the clone not bother to include this, it is still as effective if spending on the clone first, though it is a bit more unwieldy. More information will be available, and included in the Monero GUI.

Actual version is v0.11.1.0, but in these days probably will be new release for march hard fork. WILL XMR PRICE INCREASES? 1. Baba Vanga is dead; 2. Thread for discussion of Monero trading and price speculation is here.

Cool, I had some XMR a while back but got out due to not being able to keep it on a hardware wallet. Once this is done I will be back on the train for sure. Monero is really the privacy coin leader with a huge developer base. Exciting news, thanks for posting.

Anyone that knows anything knew the bolded is bullshit and tor has been compromised for years. Of course I think it's accepted that only the Bad guys need to worry about that, IOW because the NSA cannot come out in court and say "Yup we busted you cause tor is compromised" that it is safe enough if you are not doing something really bad and if you are they have special courts for you and you will not have the rights to demand the proof against you anyway. AFA the funding, so what The navy wrote the software in the first place this is well known. Well I mean there is compromised and there is COMPROMISED. Sort of like how there is a difference between "we can expend some resources and figure out a users activity if we need to" and "we have a searchable database cataloging all user activity on this network". We all knew that they could attack it by running tons of nodes and doing timing analysis and stuff like that. Maybe they occasionally found other vulnerabilities and exploits maybe those got patched maybe quickly maybe not so quickly. But I think it's an altogether different thing to learn that the entire operation is funded from top to bottom by the deep state. And I also think there is a difference between the original software being developed by the navy vs the orginal software being developed by the navy + the deep state is still funding nearly all of it's development to this day. Basically I'm trying to make the case that this is a meaningful revelation that tells us some things that we might have speculated about but didn't know before and that how ever much we trusted tor before (like you said about useful scenarios) we should trust it less now. I can't fault that logic, but I thought it was well known they control over 1/3 the nodes and there is a date that you should check (I forgot what it is) to use only nodes created before that point for security. I2p I believe is a real grassroots reply to tors breach. But for all we know it's black Op funded as well. 3 Letter agencies need ways to communicate secretly as well, even from the other 3 letter agencies. Hell Cryptonote was probably a 3 letter employee or 2 that did it on the gov's dime with consent, perfect way to push it out to the world too in a easily identified scamcoin. SHUM
Oh god you're gross man. I had to look that up. Ew. Not sure I want to know what you were looking up, but Should Have Used Monero apparently wasn't what you found No. No it was not. I figured it out but I still blame aminorex for making me try to look it up. SHIT, Afraid to Google Shum now, lets see how long I can hold out. And I just blame aminorex for everything, it makes things easier! NOT caught up yet (threads) and out of time so I'll just ask. HAS there been a Proven ASIC sighting or is it all just conjecture still?
