Will monero be switching to PoS anytime soon?
*Soon™ LOL Piece of shit. Still my immediate association with pos. And as far as I know, fits in all cases. Running a node is a Pita so maybe thats a Piece of Shit solution. I doubt Monero will ever move to PoS. It works very well as PoW. PoS and privacy ain't working well together. Do you know of any privacy coins which implemented POS and eventually failed? I think POS would be a nice addition for the coin Dude, not gonna happen. there is a reason why monero is n.1 privacy coin and they will never move to POS. With all the respect, DASH is not a privacy coin and nither PIVX.

Hey people i got a problem with my wallet (monero-gui-0.10.3.1-beta2). Im trying to sync up but it doesnt work. It says "synchronizing" but the blocks are getting more instead of less.
I also tried to run "monerod" via terminal but there it also says "synchronization started" but nothing happens (blocks are getting more).
Thats the status: "1382339/1382827 (99.9%) on mainnet, not mining, net hash 141.37 MH/s, v5, up to date, 7(out)+0(in) connections, uptime 0d 1h 33m 17s"
Any ideas? Im on linux mint and had no such problems before.

Try "monerod --block-sync-size 20"

Monero is being marketed from the start for privacy and untraceable transaction. I wonder after reading about implementation of POS model. What will be the affect of this new economic model of the market valuation because staking leads to some certain IP address. What will keep Monero up same as it is till now ?

The transaction got sent in the end, this morning I can see first few confirmations. (feuw!)
Was probably in mempool competing with a higher than usual number of other transactions for a spot in a block.

No one that knows anything about this coin is seriously talking POS, I was making a joke and anyone else that was trying to push it is just looking to gain free coins. If you have seen a post from a serious supporter or DEV saying otherwise please link it. Don't worry Monero will not intentionally add anything that would adversely effect it's fungability. For no other reason than that is what makes it the greatest Currency in existence.

5) You are a shop owner, and have registered a Monero address with the IRS as your official retailer address. You use this address for receiving payments from all of your customers. At the end of the year, the tax man uses the view key you provided them with to check how much you received, so that you pay the appropriate taxes....
Good stuff, but seriously, the IRS using your viewkey? The IRS forms are ancient, they have nothing for that sort of thing, so how will that ever work in this day and age? I understand it and agree, but I don't see the IRS actually giving any shits about that kind of thing. It's hard enough to claim BTC on tax forms, let alone any other crypto! Monero is doing pretty well. Great to see ongoing developement.
Monero is so undervalued it's crazy. I'd still buy more if I could. The privacy issue is all bullshit anyway - You have to convert your crypto to fiat to consume. So someone knows how much you spent on 1 transaction. How much do you still have left? bullshit? right

What are you talking about dude? Monero cannot work on PoS eh.. who ever told you tried to make fun of you. The entire reason it is PoW is because of the privacy, and this is what makes Monero worth so much (Top10). Why would they throw it away by moving to another PoS coin? lol

People accept crypto in exchange for goods and services without converting. It doesn't happen that much yet, but it does happen.

Ways you can help: 1. Subscribe, up-vote, contribute, and support comments in any Monero/Crypto-currency community or forum (promote positive vibes) 2. Spread information across multiple Monero/Crypto-currency community Channels & Forums (for maximum coverage) 3. In my view monero is the only anonymous working crypto out there and people have not yet realized that(dash, zcash and rest of fake competition). I am very old holder and i plan to keep to be even if i am sure it will fall as it always does after a pump , i want to support this crypto and i am not selling for less than 500$ each because it deserves a higher market cap ranking and in these times of crypto mania it is highly undervalued for me personally. So, all xmr holders out there, now you must really hold, we deserve to be even in the range of bitcoin cash, when bitcoin mania fades again, true altcoins like xmr will explode. P.S.1: I would sell something like 1-2xmr @500 around 2-3% of my holdings because thats how much i believe in this coin P.S.2: I know it is heavy to use and requires hardware to keep real privacy also time and devotion in the mix, but..preserving wealth from praying eyes is something unique in this piece of c..p world. good luck!
