I was waiting for a 2 months, but nothing positive was happened.. Sold about 5k coins today even at this low price! Now I'm really happy! Bye bye monero!

Remember Darkcoin? The price was stable for at least 3 /4 months than had risen up  I suppose there will be similar pattern here or maybe some kind of revolusion!! |

tomorrow up +400% xd FUN FACT: ... having sold all Bitcoins 2 months ago at 650 US-$ instead of hodling them in nice form of a Monero Bag would have been the better bottomline. Now it's more like 388 US-$ with a strong tendency pointing downwards. The big picture is disliked by all fractions, be it pro or contra Monero. |

You are right, so it's double mistake Yes, and yes. The last mistake was selling your stack. We have allready worked out that holding Bitcoins is no solution anymore (I assume that is because nobody mines them now anymore. Most mining Rigs have migrated onto new Altcoin algos. BTC always has been about the mining in first place) and there is a spot opening soon for a replacement. Betting all-in on XMR to jump into that gap with success is a bold move. Leverage your gambling on other base technologies. Like 20$ on the black horse (dark-aynthing), some so called 2.0 coins (I do not, just mentioning for completeness), definitely 30$ on the white horse (CryptoNote variants) and some pennies on Zerocoin/cash since that seems high risk bet. that the blocks you'll find them after a long time
days or weeks if you have hashrate low

The privacy you gain is that your ISP (or someone working with your ISP or who has compromised your ISP) can see your traffic and at present identify the transactions you originate (since they were not sent in, thus not relayed). Some may object to others being able to determine you are even running a Monero node (and presently this applies to not only to your ISP but also your peers). Tor or i2p largely fixes these with some caveats about how they can themselves be compromised, Sybil attacked, some issues with traffic analysis, etc. |

With most GPU miners you really only need one core for a even a few GPUs, but you will have to tune your own rig to be sure. |

So with time warp attack the attacker basically turns his hashing power on and off in a pattern of resonant frequency? Am i understanding this right? I haven’t actually heard the name before but when studying bitcoin years ago i decided against buying in because I imagined this sort of attack. (boy what i mistake, i still bought in relatively early but i wish i had bought in *THAT* early).
This would not be a time warp attack. A time warper would run hashing power constantly. The blocks would not be advertised to the network until later when they have a chance at chain contention. Basically saving up proof of work to affect difficulty algo or to affect longest chain resolution. Additional benefits can be gained if you force chain resolution on everyone but your own chain, and confuse other miners to mine your chain, DD0S those that don't, etc. Its generally very unprofitable with current algorithms and safeguards, and any miner would do better mining the coin. |
