Well we have a two day break and then we return to action with Columbia VS Brazil. I really think columbia will beat brazil by a conceivable margin if they play well. Brazil haven't done well all world cup.

Actually its a three day break the games start again on the American Holiday the 4th of July

Holy crap, the Belgium vs USA game was intense. Extra time was incredible. The will and determination of the US team was staggering, they came so close and even in defeat they can be proud of their efforts this tournament.

All of the teams that progressed through to the Quarter Finals were group winners. This World Cup has been incredible so far, more records to be broken I'm sure.

If the US soccer keeps developing at this pace I can already foresee the great talent that will come from there in about ten years. Just imagine players with the skill of our European top stars and the determination and teamwork that the current team displayed. They will soon be among the top soccer nations. And it is about time. A nation this big and this crazy about sports should be having a strong soccer league that can keep up with the European leagues.

As far as this world cup goes it is one of the most intense I can remember so far. And there will be records broken. Miroslav Klose needs one more goal to beat Ronaldo's (the fat brazilian Ronaldo not CR7) record for most goals scored during world cups.

I'm still sad the USA couldn't beat Belgium. I would have loved to see Germany vs. USA as the final match, just to see how good the USA could do against us when they are truely playing to win.

Well anyways my prediction for the remainder of the tournament:

This match just proves that you can't get by with a good defense in football - you have to have both good defense and attack. USA, Iran, Greece, and some other teams all have very good defense, but their lack of good offensive potential is their ultimate downfall.

Not at a good margin. They just gave up the attacks when they made the 2th goal to Uruguai, and almost took 3. If they do that with Brazil, they won't be so luck

I dunno, Greece and even the US have good enough potential in the offensive in my view, but they both made too little use of it. I agree though that this world cup showed that you can't get by by just concentrating on defense and waiting for mistakes of the opposing teams. All the teams that traditionally do that are out now: Italy, Greece, Portugal, USA.

This is mainly because soccer particularly in the offensive became a much faster game during the last 15 years. Offensive players steadily change their positions basically forcing the defending team to play zone defense instead of defending one to one and close to the opposing player. The steady and often unpredictable movement of nowadays offensive players makes it practically impossible to prevent attempts at goals.

I remember that just 10 to 15 years ago the game was a lot more static. It was about fast players on the left and right side that try to overrun the defensive line and put in a cross toward high strikers that are strong with the head and it was about one central creative player trying to shoot a clever pass into the penalty area to serve a striker. It was all in all a lot more predictable and the defensive players always faced the same opposing player when defending.

That was when teams like Italy or Greece through their very good defenders were able to practically destroy the opposing team's offensive game. They would give the opponent just two or three opportunities for scoring goals at max during the whole match. They did not really manage to do that this year.

For Brazil it is yet unclear will neymar play due to injure from last match. If he dont play or play and have some serious injure in game that will be Colombia victory.

Still since they are home team think they will win if Colombia somehow goes to penalties that is 50-50 on booth team to pass.

As currently Columbian's playing they can destroy Brazil at home but second factor is officials of this match they are worst in this mega WC
