Man these are exciting times I believe we will see a very different top 5 the following months. There are very promising coins and infrastructures being built, I believe Silkcoin will be the best "non anon" coin out there, there is no reason why litecoin should be any bigger that SC because it basically offers nothing than Bitcoin already does. Silkcoin has integrated ( or will in the future ) functionalities that will ease general acceptance. I think there is a definite need for a true anon coin too, my guess XC will win this race. Picture this: 1. Bitcoin, being the first, the digital gold if you will. 2. Silkcoin, offering everything that an altcoin should. Awesome wallet, excellent developers and a very welcoming community. 3. XC, for offering the first true anon infrastructure with a very strong developer and good community. To the moon brothers Sorry to burst your bubble, but just look at the amount of new coins not based on bitcoin, written from scratch... OK, most of them are in pre-ann state, but just take a look at their features. Cinni and Silkcoin seems to be best Bitcoin based coins feature wise but custom solutions might overtake them soon, they'll certainly overtake all pump&dump shitcoins. XC? Just wait till Monero gets GUI wallet Silk will be huge.... see you in few weeks Just a quick answer about the debate going on. First thing I said about the eco-system is we didn't want to unveil it too soon that's why there's not a lot of details available and no real infos were given to the community. Once you'll read the white paper you will really understand what is going on, but in the meantime yes this is an investment and in every investment there's risk. I can't put an exact timeframe on the release of the white paper but expect it to be soon. It's a bit longer and more complicated than the usual coin white paper you see these days. If you want all the details available the best thing to do is to click on my profile and read my posts, I usually post only important updates. So the wisest thing to do would be to make your investment based on what we already proved to the community since a bit more than a month of existence, I think most of the community is pretty satisfied; This was also the point of this second phase : let us time to settle and let you know who we are. Also I find it's better to be based on bitcoin hierarchy and have thousands of devs around the world fixing glitches in your protocol than on a fresh new code. Anyway there are a lot of arguments to be made of both sides, still bitcoin is the source of all those ideas and systems it should stay the source of the code, I don't know if there's a lot of S. Nakamoto out there. And yes there are still bounty projects you can contact me here or contact cryptolemaik on IRC for translations. Is 2FA a possibility for the wallet?

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Yes we spoke with the devs and it has been added to the dev list, it would be a great addition to the eco-system but will surely be released after. We still have to look a bit more into it before we can make any real conclusion but we found out some work have already been made in that direction : https://gist.github.com/gavinandresen/5616606 , http://www.mail-archive.com/bitcoin-development@lists.sourceforge.net/msg02601.html and a few others.. I think we may find a few suitable solutions with double sigs, and of course it would be an optionnal feature. Really fits nicely in the eco-system, nice idea.

I would just monitor this thread constantly. It will be interesting to see what happens when POW ends for good...

Will there be a wallet update at the end of POW?
Unsure at the moment all work is geared towards white paper for ecosystem and establishing mutlipool ready for the POS phase, as regards to the wallet i think you can expect minor fixes in next update, contrast on dashboard etc and some other minor concerns the community has raised. Q
