I downloaded your wallet yesterday from silk-coin.com v 1.0.9.0 (extremely well done btw.) I let the wallet run all night and it still hasn't synced; it usually only takes a couple hours with a new wallet. Any suggestions? Also, I own an ebay/Amazon style goods market, https://earthazaar.com, where members can buy or sell (or auction) products for cryptos. Perhaps we can collaborate? If interested pm me. I know its an obvious question but... did you add addnode=107.170.61.197 addnode=107.170.73.238 to the .conf? Q Hi Quantum, do I need to do this when I download the new wallet? If so can you explain how to do this please? Thanks

If so can you explain how to do this please? Thanks you need to click the windows 'start button' then type in box %appdata% you will then see a roaming folder ... in that folder will be a folder called 'Silkcoin' you need to open that folder ( it contains wallet.dat) then you must create a config file ... open a text doc and paste into it rpcport=16667 server=1 addnode=107.170.61.197 addnode=107.170.73.238
then 'save as all file types' and call it Silkcon-qt.conf restart your wallet

I dont know the maths exactly (wulfcastle knows better) but i think i can confidently say that on monday we shall still be a couple of days away .. so no need to switch on weekend Okay I'm in the GMT+2 Timezone so you guys will have to adjust the time accordingly to your time zone. In around 15 mins time (at the time of this post) we will be at block 46 000. It's currently 14:30 in my timezone. Therefore there will be another 565 blocks today (There's 1440 blocks in a day). So : 08 June 2014 - 00:00 : Block 46 565 09 June 2014 - 00:00 : Block 48 005 10 June 2014 - 00:00 : Block 49 445 10 June 2014 - 09:25 : Block 50 000So it all points to the 2nd PoW phase starting at 09:25 (GMT+2) on Tuesday. Take note that this is an estimation, the actual time we hit block 50 000 may vary by around 30 minutes to an hour.

I would like to point my miners at a dedicated pool for the next POW stage but I may be at work when we hit block 50,000.
I don't want to miss the start so is it OK to point my miners at a pool a few hours before the POW stage starts?

As far as I know, that's fine. Though you won't be submitting any shares until the PoW stage starts.

A much easier solution would be to have your favorite Silkcoin pool first in your config file and another scrypt coin pool second and use that configuration right now. Mining software such as sgminer/cgminer will check the first pool and if it doesn't work, will automatically go to the second pool. Meaning, that from now until Silkcoin pool will be up again, sgminer/cgminer will use the second pool and as it checks every 1 to 5 minutes if the first pool is alive or not, will automatically switch to the Silkcoin pool whenever it is up.
