Namecoin has been underappreciated for far too long. When you look at the statistics, it's dumbfounding why it isn't valued 100x higher. I think it's the result of several unique market factors like merged mining causing constant dumping by pools, lack of advertising, prior performance assumed to be future performance, and lots of undeveloped potential.
I would add the ethereum,Dao/ICO mania didn't help and took the lime light. the average investor in crypto ups their IQ a bit
Says a lot about the average investor/crypto space doesn't it It was recently rated the #60 crypto coin by an independent rating team and if it were to realize that position as a market cap, it would be trading at $200 per coin.
That's interesting they gave it a rating where it would trade at $200 because a lot of the crypto space likes to compare their chain with the other, But I like to compare it to the actual industry it's targeting for example according to Datanyze both Godaddy and Cloudfare seem to have in total around 2/3 of the DNS market share. Godaddy & Cloudfare's companies worth totals around $55 billion. If Namecoin was to take just 10% of that share i.e 5.5 billion divided by the supply would give us around $261 a coin. Jokes aside $200 is a very conservative price and $2000 wouldn't be unrealistic either. If Namecoin was to takeover the market share of those two companies, then we would just need to 10x with a price of over $2600. Also even if Bitcoin went to $200,000 and Namecoin at $2000 we would still have a respectable satoshi price of 0.01. Bear in mind I haven't factored in the remaining 1/3 market share which consisted of Amazon, Google etc.

Just for the records: From the outset, I gave the forum administration one week to deal with the ban request. After new arguments were presented, I gave them another weekend. From now on, the authorities and domain registrars will take over.
Any weapon deals were seen in this forum after our report? (Rhetoric question) Yes? lol. Guns are legal and are a part of America's constitution, you didn't ban guns in America or here on Bitcointalk. All those "weapon deals" (lulz) are 100% legal to sell on the forums and internet. Sorry if you can't grasp that. You're delusional as fuck, you should come visit America before you try to act like some shady tree wannabe lawyer.
I have a .380 pistol that I'd sell for Namecoin, if anyone is interested! (Shippings kind of expensive for these little cheap bastards, but still!) I'd probably part ways with a Smith and Wesson AR-15 and a 100 round drum as well for the right amount of Namecoins... I've just been kind of hanging on to my big stuff lately. How does that make you feel? (Rhetorical question) Maybe shift your focus to extorting people from New Zealand... their police over there are busting people for Kentucky Fried Chicken (American food franchise that was featured on a South Park episode long ago.) sure ~ you send first lol

Anybody know how much it costs to buy domains using name coin on the new network? I finally bought around 400 coins but I have at least 300 crypto domains. Had closer to 600 but couldn’t hold on to them. Rat godaddy wants almost $20 per renewal now. How lame. I’m don’t even know how to buy namecoin domains for internet 3.0 but at least I have some coins. Thanks for any help. V
Namecoin to $200 $2000
Fixed that for you Haha. People have no idea what’s coming with metanet/internet 3.0. Namecoin $2,000 minimum. Those guns, yours gemnutz or bayarea coins. Man I miss having a bag load of ammo and guns. Got a bad feeling soon we’ll need them here. Way too many Pakistanis being imported for “work”. Haven’t seen one woman or a make over 25. Namecoin integration into Bitcoin Core 22 wallet was only half way done. Probably by June 2022 before full integration and ability to Buy and Renew DNS Names using the Namecoin Wallet Repository and wallet....
They have a 13.99 version wallet to buy and renew names till then..........

One thing I find interesting right now is how little supply of Namecoin there is for the price.
To put it in perspective a coin like Cardano has a circulating supply of 33,257,079,050 ADA and trades at about the same price as NMC right now ~$2
However, there's only a circulating supply of 14,736,400 NMC
That means Cardano is 2256.8 times more abundant. If NMC rose to the same market cap that would easily put it at thousands per coin.
I suspect people are holding off on hyping it up too much to build positions and waiting for it to return to a major exchange. It was popular on btc-e/wex but after they went down the coin has only been traded on lesser-known exchanges.
It's clear the devs are still active but it would be nice if they tried to increase frequency of dev posts a bit. Might help to build momentum while we petition to get it added to somewhere like Coinbase.

OK, I'm fomoing into an 11 y.o. coin.
I have a wallet somewhere with god knows how many NMC but I don't have time for that, must... get... in... now.
I appreciate the quick blockchain sync with the QT wallet.
There's an upcoming market for old coins as they are now considered digital collectibles and curios.

Maybe CoinMarketCap is wrong then: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/namecoin/Either way the numbers are about within the same magnitude so the overall point doesn't change.

Any of you guys have much experience with CoinEx? They are by far the biggest market for NMC. So I made a deposit, did the trade, requested a withdrawal and then... sat and waited. And waited some more. After 5 hours I contacted support. They said I needed to re-do my email verification, so I did it, and sure enough the withdrawal went through.
That was encouraging enough to do a second deposit and now the NMC wallet is "down for maintenance."
Was I their only real NMC customer and its all fake volume or whats going on over there?

I don't. In my experience there is a LOT of fake volume in the altcoin world... that's why we built our NMC/BTC exchange on FreeBitcoins.com. I'd rather than real small shitty looking volume with real coin balances + withdrawals that work than... that. We still need people offering to buy and sell namecoin, so traders can trade fast. Getting liquidity is much more difficult than I expected!!! I hope they get you fixed, but ick. Stay on their ass and good luck.

I'm using them for years, and I trust them. The namecoin maintenance is bad luck, but I'm rather sure they reopen soon. My problem on them is firo/xzc, this wallet is on maintenance since months, all others went smoothly.

I personally do NOT trust them...........SouthxChange is good and Freiexchange but very low liquidity earlier this year it was easy to score a couple thousands shares of NMC but it's now hard just to get a couple hundred so it's not surprising to me that CoinEX would play games..........probably fake liquidity there..........CoinEx and Binance any Chi-Com exchange which requires ID's is a non-starter and China has Banned all crypto mining and TRANSACTIONS? So who wants to trust an Off-Shore Chi-Com Crypto exchange with their ID? SouthXchange is the one to use they have some kind of Market Maker there but you have to be Patient and wait set your price a couple hundred Satoshi above CoinEx Price and usually fills within a day ect......... If it doesn't fill set it a couple hundred higher...........

CoineX is the best exchange in that it does not does KYC. The first transfer has 24hrs wait, but after that my experience has been smooth. If you need some NMC to register an expired name, happy to drop some to your wallet.

I did something similar to test them. They seem alright. Now I keep a good chunk of my NMC there for trading the swings and accumulating more. I also use their charts for most of my analysis for trading other coins. That said, the majority of my trading is done on Coinbase because you never know when these offshore exchanges could suddenly vanish. Also, I don't think the low volume is an issue with Coinex and that it's more of an issue with NMC having an extremely low market cap. If we really want more volume we need to figure out how to get NMC on some bigger more well-known exchanges. I'm really surprised Coinbase doesn't have it because they have a ton of other coins and NMC is like the original altcoin.
