Question for the devs: Someone brought up a good point in the Google hangouts (I think) comments. If veribit has to exchange vrc for btc, how can vericoin purchases be any faster than bitcoin? The solution (if you have not already thought of it, and I'm sure you have) would be to use the VeriFund to pre-auth the transaction within seconds (fewer confirms?), and then the transaction slogs through the bitcoin network as per normal. Is this the case? If so, it should be made public knowledge to quench some of the fud out there. If it's not the case, feel free to use the idea.
EDIT: Also, I am still concerned about the 2 VRC (now 1 VRC) transaction fee. I think for VeriBit to be accepted, the fee should be a percentage of the transaction value. I'd pay 1% up to a max of 1 VRC per transaction. Like I mentioned earlier, if VRC is at 0.25 BTC and BTC is at $1000 USD, no one will use VeriBit. Until VeriCoin is accepted natively, this seems like a fair fee to pay for the convenience.
Just like they already reduced the fee from 2 VRC to 1 VRC as the price rose, pnosker said they will reduce the fee as the price rises so you need not worry. The point of the fee is to not make profit but to stay just high enough to cover exchange and maintenance costs which keeps the cost as low as possible. It is also important to have the 1 VRC fee to discourage unnecessary overuse. If you just had only a % fee then people may abuse it and overuse it for no reason which unnecessary increases the size of the blockchain. Trust me, they've already thought of most everything and there is a reason for what they do.

I do not really get what this currency has to offer.. do you guys know how easy it is to set up centralized sms nodes? SMSTools (open source) with 100 lines of bash/perl or python. Dont get it, are the crypto community really this ignorant? It will take me 6 hours tops to accomplish the sms-software, and vericoin have 7M market cap? Jesus christ. Like the sms is the only feature of vrc stop spreading those bullshit fud and get on with your other coin(s). This is not FUD. I mean, what do the crypto community want, drive the development forward with uniq ideas? Everyone is afraid.. money money money, not to build something that lasts. Vericoin has absolutely nothing to offer more than other currencys in the same genre, except the sms-nodes. Simple, it offers a chance for pumpers to earn easy money from the so-called true believers.

So what your saying is that I can go directly buy plane tickets and a vacation to the World Cup right now with any number of altcoins with full anonymity just as easy or easier than doing the same thing with BTC? Yeah right. Noone has Veribit and noone has a ring node based Verisend either. Vericoin is like BTC that pays you interest until you need to use the funds and it has built in anonymity with full decentralized anonymity on the way.

What ever happened to under promise, over deliver.
It would be better for future updates for the team to put out a wallet release successfully, and on time before promoting it on twitter and elsewhere.
After how much talk about it, and how it would be out today, no reason to fail. If you cannot make a deadline you impose on yourself, and continuously talk it up. I see no good coming out of that.
IMO, it would be nice to see our dev's play less hype man, and be more responsible about making deadlines and keeping our technology cutting edge. This would improve the price more than anything and instill the confidence to take it to the next level.
Devs, I agree with this too. A little less twitter hype, smack talk, etc from the devs would be good and instead create a pattern of underpromising and over-delivering.yup.. i agree. shallow water makes much noise..

Dude, you said all day, pumped all day that it would be out, how many people did you lie to? Have a little respect for the people you pumped all day to. This is why you wait to see the wallet, before telling everyone its out and its great. You are the worst pumper here, Just as bad as fudsters, if not worse. Cause you will pump till the day you sell, then dissapear.

Bump Yes we are using the VeriBit slush fund as a pre-auth fund to make sure times are very low. We are going to adjust the fee to make sure it's never larger than $0.50. Don't worry about the 1 VRC fee. We are adjusting it on the fly. It's easier to use an integer value than a scaled one due to the way our system works.

We fixed the Windows bug (the VeriSend "this transaction will cost xxx VRC" window wasn't displaying before). Now calm down and download your wallet in a few minutes after it finishes compiling.
