I am one of those who have had all kinds of problems getting synced past block 82xx.
Tried the Sync.conf files that have been posted as well, even had 31 connections to the network and nothing even though I left it running all night.
Is this new wallet that was uploaded 'v2 final' or whatever the route to go?
Any help is appreciated if I missed something in the whole thread.

yes copy your dat and conf file delete everything else dowload the new wallet on the op page let it sync you will have to opne and close the wallet twice once on block 8200 and again at 8700 it will then sync to the latest block

yes copy your dat and conf file delete everything else
dowload the new wallet on the op page
let it sync you will have to opne and close the wallet twice
once on block 8200 and again at 8700 it will then sync to the latest block
Thank you for the specific instructions. Worked like a charm... except it shows 0 coins. How do I make the new wallet know my address in the blockchain? Is that the .dat file? Just overwrite it? ... just tried that, and it did work. So my balance is showing again.

I think your both meaning the same thing, just different way of saying it.
Don't accidentally overwrite your wallet.dat that has your coins stored in it. (or lose / delete / give to anyone else lol)
But you would overwrite the wallet.dat if it was because you nuked the whole thing then ran the client and it generated a new fresh wallet.dat, then you would have to copy yours that has your coins in it over that.
Something like that haha... =)

Yep I see now. Thank you both for the explanation. I figured that was how it worked, but I am no expert. Other than backing up the whole wallet and appdata I haven't had to replace anything until now. I don't have very much Sync, but I would hate to make that mistake with some of my other wallets. So now that all seems well, once the new wallet is up for 24 hours or something will it start to stake with what I have? Just tells me the coins aren't mature yet at the moment.

It depends on how many coins you have, the more you have the faster they should stake. The max coin age maturity is 30 days.
There is also a hardfork happening in the block chain tomorrow that should make lower amounts of coins stake faster and fix some other things.
My 0.24 coins didn't stake until today after about 7 days, but coins should stake faster I believe after tomorrow.

Thanks again. I have .12, so at least I have something to gauge by.

Coin is not abandoned. New wallet works great. Hard fork tomorrow should expedite blockchain and staking. Probably be worth 10 BTC by the end of the week.
