How did you get mac wallet to work? also how long does it take before you start earning money from stake? thanks
It seems it broke again, trying to sync again =( Just saw someone posted a link to a new mac wallet, is it safe to use ? the new mac wallet is safe. however it still gets stuck a few times, you will need to close and re-open it to allow it to catchup. not sure why it's sticking, i had thought the checkpoints should have eradicated this issue. anyway, wallet works fine. OK thanks. So it takes 30 days untill you start to make money of PoS? no, you only make money when you sell your Sync for BTC and then sell the BTC for money. haha but seriously though? When can I expect the little silver arrow in the bottom right to change?

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the
subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The
subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

When can I expect the little silver arrow in the bottom right to change? I think, that if what has been relayed regarding the fork, is correct, everyone should stake something during the transition, as it has been advised that there is likely to be ~1000 quick blocks when the hard fork occurs and then block confirmation time will even itself out. I'd say it's highly likely you will stake some coinage before the night is out.

[/quote] staking is like mining a random pocess while building and finding blocks - you dont when - you only now THAT - this means it allows the staking after Minimum of 6hours till 30days the hard fork perhaps will help to improve this Kind of building a block AND give the abillity also to small accounts - its hard but you have to be Patient with this

Actually, it will recover after stuck, if you wait for the next new block. But you get faster on sync by restarting. Seems like on initial blockchain download, it just don't trigger the next download after receiving the 500 blocks which is the limit. So far, this is my best guess for the root cause: https://github.com/MsCollec/sync/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L3129It won't request next batch based on PoS. It will do it only on PoW. It is easy to make request on PoS also. But have to understand this first: // ppcoin: send latest proof-of-work block to allow the // download node to accept as orphan (proof-of-stake // block might be rejected by stake connection check) If you are a programmer, give it a look..

the helperdev forecasted increased chance for staking during a period shortly after the fork, until it stabilizes. They still have to be in the wallet for minimum 6 hours and perhaps a specific number of blocks (which I don't know but it used to be 1000 before the last fork)

So what block is the hard fork set for?
Not based on block, but time: GetStakeWeight : ForkTime = 1401732000 GetStakeWeight: 02.06.2014 18:00:00 GetStakeWeight : GetTime = 1401725253 GetStakeWeight: 02.06.2014 16:07:33
Less than a couple of hours.

No. The staking 'easyness' is 1000 times easier, but it will adjust much faster than in 1000 blocks. Coins won't start staking unless they are 6 hours old. But after fork, I guess every coin which is old enought will get stake quite soon. This is quite new for me also, so I'm crossing my fingers also.. Let's all hope for the best and fear for the worst! Yesterday I was very confident, but as the deadline comes closer... I guess I'm just as excited as you are. We can only wait and see. But anyway, if something goes wrong, it will be fixed. In the worst case, we need another fork. In the best case, it simply works. Likely we will have some problems (orphans, blockchain jams etc.), but eventually things will settle down.

If we would have had this level of frequent, well explained information the last week would have been thousand times better for everyone. (Don't know if this sentence is understandable. My english speaking abbility comes from Games and movies) What i want to say is: I appreciate your information.

very good english 10/10 Agreed, but let's keep looking forward, we have some ground to make up. We hit the 24 he high again on MP. So, after successful hardfork, 1 sync = ___ btc? My bet is .5 btc
