from my recent past:
download the latest version of the wallet,
download the bootstrap file and throw it in the folder of the wallet,
download the latest node which is on the forum and throw them in a folder wallet.
To launch the wallet and loading a purse will happen quickly.
Or do nothing from what is written, then sync will be a very long time

Updated Clam Client

To speed things up downloaded the CLAM blockchain - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=623147.7740

Checked btc address at Just-Dice > yes CLAMS waiting

Exported private key from Blockchain.info in WIF format

Put importprivkey xxxxxx into CLAM client console > enter > looks ok, blue icon with cross

No CLAMS

Recheck Clam address at just dice, clams still not dug

If I try Just Dice instead is it ok to use the auto allocated account or would it be advisable to set up a user/pass account?

You should set up a user name and password just to be safe.

I highly recommend scanning your .dat with FreeBitcoins after digging fee free at Just-dice... this will insure that you've got all those hidden "change" wallets as well.

https://freebitcoins.com/clamchecker/dig_wallet/  (this feature is now working again!)

Spoke to soon.

Shit is now broke again... will update asap!  Cry

Our CLAM wallet digger is now working again <3
pls can you put in a place a method whereby we can store clams on the site then send to my wallet instead of sending in bits

Yes, user balances are coming after out Bitcoin Cash wallet digger and one fix on the logic of checking addresses for both coins properly.

This will stop the CLAM SPAM.

Sound advice.

One more gem ... returning to CLAMs? Syncing seems to stall? Try the above with an empty wallet.

I've recently synced from 0 in just over a couple of hours, twice now, using exactly the steps described above. In between, I had several failures to complete, my client usually stalling with 33/34 weeks left.

I beat this level by moving my bulging wallet.dat to one side and syncing first with an empty wallet, before switching it back out for the non-empty wallet.

As with many PoS coins, when syncing from 0 the client seems to have a bad habit of attempting to stake before it is fully synced. It's something of a latent issue that only afflicts the affluent.

If the staking attempt is successful it creates a local fork, which is where (and why) the client stalls. I believe that the phenomenon is directly related to stake weight, sometimes it can be just too much for the client to resist.

Cheers

Graham

Question on reddit:  https://www.reddit.com/r/Clamcoin/comments/70g5qt/full_node_question/

"I was planning on running a full, dedicated node for clam coin. Could someone tell me if there are any benefits associated with it? And I currently have the following specs. Will these be enough?
4 CORES
16 GB RAM
500 GB HDD STORAGE"

If that's the specs for a machine 100% dedicated to CLAM (rather than "can I run this in the background?") then it's way overspec'd.

I've run CLAM on a little ARM64 board with a 16GB MicroSD card and 2GB of RAM. Aside from the initial sync, it uses very little CPU.

I run the Clam cliient on a virtual machine, together with two other coin clients, with only 4Gb ram, one core and 8Gb of used space for all three clients combined (on a 127GB disk).
Clam uses around 600MB ram and a total of 10% cpu is used. I haven't had any sync or other problems whatsoever.
To add more power than this would be pointless in my opinion. Hope this helps you in your decision.

How add btc privkey not wallet.dat in to clam client ?
importprivkey in the console

Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security.  Read all about it here:  http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/  Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!

That was a nice spike last night. I sold at 0.002 and bought back at 0.00185. I am glad I was able to buy back at this price because I believe the price will pass 0.0021 in the coming week with al these investors driving up the price. I guess they have seen that Clam is a solid coin with real world use.

buy low and sell high strategy will work with a coin that have a good potential ahead, clam cam move forward even sometimes its showing slow
but development still progressing and we just have to wait till this coin make the big jumped. just keep it coming dev.

We got our auto digger tool working again.

This allows you to drag and drop a .dat into the website and claim the Bitcoin value for the CLAMS.

I recommend this if you don't want to DL the wallet.

I am having a real problem syncing my wallet.  It is hard to maintain peers.  Is this a normal problem?  I am new to ClamCoin.

I forget how do you add peers to the conf. file?  I know how to add them one at a time through the console, but I figured there's a better way to do it all at once.

Is there another list of peers somewhere?

Seriously?

The whole coin is airdropped.

You can get the wallet or use any number of services that help you obtain your coins.

I own this service... you can check to see if any of your BTC, LTC or DOGE addresses qualify for free: https://freebitcoins.com/clamchecker/dig/

(fee for digging with us)
