My understanding is that a pi is included so that the miners can be standalone.

A pi is NOT included, I specifically asked this morning. Only the SD card with the software.
is the card bootable then?  just pop it into Pi and everything comes up?
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

just call RX-Box PillBox.

OG Bitcoin Miner turned Proof of Stake Validator.
Maxed out Raspberry Pi 4 8GB at 120$ a Day Revenue with ~15K XTZ Bonds in Summer of 2021.
Looking at Proof of Stake systems all across the crypto ecosystem to expand operations.

I think you should be able to use a PC.  rockxie can confirm
^^   Very good news
Someone please confirm. I am not all that familiar with Pi. I'd like to just hook it to my PC if possible.

Rocket-BOX(RK-BOX) is diffrent to RX-BOX.

Rocket-BOX:48 BE200, short,450G~480G
RX-BOX:64 BE200,long,~600G

As RX-BOX is delayed,RK-BOX will shipped out first. And we will use RK-BOX for replacement of RX-BOX. 2RX-BOX=3RK-BOX.

$112.5 per divice from China using DHL express is a damn good deal.
How do you suppose they get here?

On the other hand, if shipping cost was simply part of per unit price, wouldn't you buy it anyway?

Yes after thinking about it i guess you are right. Blame Bitmain with the 35 USD a piece shipping has spoiled me; I think a group buy for this product would be fantastic.

That's ridiculous. They are eitHer taking a profit or paying retail. My FedEx acct would be $25-30 per.

its not about shipping cost or anything u mentioned above...

lets calculate the real cost here...
Quote
1 x RK-Box 450G = 1BTC (latest price)

assume we buy 3 RK-box (3BTC + 0.6BTC shipping)
now we need 3 RPI assume it 0.23BTC
and the last thing, we need 3 PSU assume it 0.47BTC
total : 4.3BTC
now we got 1.35 TH/s cost us around 4.3BTC
so, for this spec. 1BTC can get us 313GH/s (1350/4.3)

Quote
now we calculate the Antminer S2
1 x S2 1TH/s = 3.194 BTC (coupon)

for this S2, we dont need other accessories to run it
its all included
so, for this spec. 1BTC can get us 310GH/s (1000/3.225)

Conclusion :
RK-box - for mid player in mining, if ur wallet is not big enuf
S2 - only for big wallet

Really you can ship 7kg from China to USA for $30 usd ?  Nice! But how long does it take though?

I can ship for $6 per kg UPS but it takes 7 days. The fastest service is more expensive but it only 2-3 days.

Express International is usually 3-4 days.  Quicker from Europe, but this is China.

I too am waiting for Canary to post a price and hopefully it's more competitive than minersource.net ( although they are a good reseller ).  The price on the rbox dropped dramatically since launch and hopefully we will see the price of the rkbox come down as well.  To stay competitive with the market the price needs to drop a lil since power supply is not included and the rpi may need to be purchased as others have stated.  At least close to what Rockminer sells them for + a lil for shipping cost.  Hopefully this next week goes fast, don't want to resort to buying from the manufacturer.  What would you use these for?  Combine a couple and mine at a pool or point one for solo mining?  Is it a waste for solo or should I use the rbox for solo?  Your thoughts....

I personally wouldn't try solo mining unless I had at least 10 Th/s but that is just my BTC0.00003552
