SEPA transfers actually cost about 0.35-0.40 EUR per transactions and fee can be paid by the receiver. I am so happy I got my coin out of Intersango and I hope I never have to return and do any business with those 3 jokers.

Intersango is the oldest and largest exchange to not get hacked. Your money is probably safer there than any other exchange.
Nope, that would be Bitcoin-Central.net, open-source exchange, older than Britcoin (aka Intersango). Operating smoothly since December 2010. Never hacked. Since Intersango is apparently unable to keep it together we're launching a new GBP market. Lowest fees available (free incoming wires, 0.99 GBP outgoing wires, 0.498% trade fee) Unfortunately you don't have a British bank account, so transfers can be a bit steep (10 pounds minimum for international transfers in most banks here).

Switched from Intersango to Bitstamp about a year ago and never had any problems with them.

So far Bitstamp seems to be a very good compromise:
- Low fees - Not too many identification hassles - No withdraw or deposit limit - Pretty liquid market - Good customer service
In other words another planet compared to Intersango.

At Bitstamp all trades are made in USD, I'm currently located in Europe but I believe it wont make much difference if you are in the States as Europe is actually much less regulated than the US, therefore less hassle with identification, KYC, etc. etc. MtGox is in Japan anyway....

The facts that Intersango: 1) raised the withrawal fee to 10 euros 2) don't accept new signups mean that they want to close down eventually. Couple that with many posts of people switching from Intersango to other exchanges.

You need to get your fact straights. Let's analyze facts: Bitstamp vs MtGox ----> Less limitations about moving funds and BTC's in and out of the account = less hassle ----> Lower fees ----> On average lower rate BTC/USD compared to MtGox ----> Much more professional customer service, prompt answering and precise follow up I bet Bitstamp will grow bigger in the future, probably getting 30% of the market within the end of 2013. Mark my words

I emphasized the facts you need to get straight. You can emphasize what you want but facts remain facts. Bitstamp is located within the EU zone and you can transfer big amounts of money (USD in 5 figures numbers) there and especially withdraw thousands of BTC in one order without telling them who you are. This is the relative freedom I'm talking about. Nowhere else this is allowed. Not in MtGox or any other website I'm aware of ( please also consider the trustability of them, I wouldn't touch some of them with a 10foot pole). I hope this helps to make my statement clear

Well, I don't argue that, I'm arguing that they aren't compliant with the European regulations. I'm also arguing that you seem quite clueless about said regulations. Hopefully you won't complain when their bank wakes up, freezes their account and makes it extremely hard for everyone to withdraw their fiat-denominated funds.

Fuccckkkk,If I had known about the issues concerning the exchange I wouldn't have sold for GBP.The last time I was here in the early part of the year it seemed pretty much a legitimate exchange. The excuse that one cannot withdraw or transfer GBP is complete BS and makes it look very scammish! Well,I guess I've gotten my coal for Christmas...thanks Intersango!
