I think a rush to market, i.e. getting AEON listed on exchanges, is counter-productive at this time. Now is the time to create true value. The cold hard truth is that there is no intrinsic value in mining. Slowly build a solid user-base, get vendors to accept it, and so on. That produces value.

Don't turn AEON into another miserable pump and dump coin, such as Infinitecoin that trades for 1 or 2 Satoshi units.

I understand miners who want to get out quick. My message is: think one step further. Who the hell wants to buy a new coin with no obvious use, except that it can be traded?

Today's total value of Bitcoin is accoding to Bitcoin watch around 7,58 billion USD. This value comes from the fact that tens of thousands of vendors worldwide accept Bitcoin as payment, and that it can safely be traded for fiat currencies on numerous exchanges.

Today's value of Monero is based on speculation and anticipation. To the best of my knowledge, you cannot use it for anything else than trade it for other cryptocurrencies.

My take-home message is that AEON should have a better strategy than only to get it listed on exchanges, because that will merely lead to a shitload of sell-orders, resulting in an exchange rate in free fall. Make AEON stand out from all other CryptoNight coins.

AEON has the potential to become a major cryptocurrency, if developers and users play their cards right.

Sound like a plan. But with shitload of luck and community support this is not possible.
So my suggestion - deliver working interface for merchants and convince them to accept the coin in a same way they accept BTC. As far as I know you can use DOGE and LTC for shopping these days without changing to fiat.
