Phase 2 Redemption Guide

NEMStake(Nxt AE) redemption starts as of RIGHT NOW, and here's how you can do it:

Please install and run the NEM BETA client from bob.nem.ninja/webstart (or bob.nem.ninja for the standalone version). In the client you'll find the option to create your real address for the live-net. Please follow the steps below in order to do this:

Note: Please be sure to back up your private key, otherwise you will not get any NEM. Please put it in a place where it won't get stolen or hacked.

THIS IS IMPORTANT PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW VERY CAREFULLY:

Now that you've created a real NEM address, you will have to send your NEMStake to a Nxt address in order to redeem it. The address is NOT the issuing account. Please include the NEM address (NOT your private key!) you have created via the BETA Client as *unencrypted* message in the transaction and send it to NXT-97MX-EWKV-CGKX-DA5WH. IMPORTANT: UNENCRYPTED.

To sum up:

1) Create a real NEM address in the beta, as shown above (The field is to small for the complete address. Make sure you copy the whole thing!!!)
2) Send your NEMStake to NXT-97MX-EWKV-CGKX-DA5WH including an unencrypted message consisting of your real NEM address created with the BETA client, according to the screenshots above. Don't send your private key!

Clarification: With regards to the problem that the popup in the gui which displays the real account data cannot be selected for copy & paste (which some users reported): This is only an issue when using Firefox. We are aware of it and will fix it in the next release. You can use Chrome to have the ability to copy & paste the data.

could you show a box how the nxt address (NXT-97MX-EWKV-CGKX-DA5WH) and were you your stake goes and the real Nem address goes ?

Dear devs,

I believe Jaguar mentioned that there is a custom settings file for InteliJ.  However, I can't seem to find the file in NEM Client Github.  So question is - has the file been removed?

Also, when I compiled using InteliJ and JDK1.8, I got tons of errors (70 errors in total).  I got errors like:

Error:(26, 63) java: method references are not supported in -source 1.6
  (use -source 8 or higher to enable method references)

Could anyone tell me what's wrong with my setup??  And how can I get the source successfully compiled without error?

I dont know why but encrypting messages when sending some Nems is not an option for me anymore. I cant activate the box


EDIT: forget about it, works again. Its been like 4 or 5 transactions that I wasnt able to encrypt messages  

FYI. You cannot encrypt if the recipient is first time using the wallet.

I am aware of that, but that was not the problem. In that case you are able to activate or deactivate the box near Encrypt message in the sending transaction tab. If you encrypt the message and try to send the money you get this error box saying it is not possible.

In my case I just could not activate the box. Nothing happened when clicking it.

Nothing will happen if you try to "activate the box" if the recipient is first time using the wallet.

I've created three real data accounts with the NCC. With the first two accounts, the password was rejected on the first attempt to get back in despite it being copy and pasted.

I created a third account last night which did accept the password after repeated logging out and logging in attempts. This morning it rejected the exact same password.

I don't want coins sent to an address I can't access. What's going on?

Don't understand what you are trying to do. You cannot log in to anything with the above addresses. They are meant to be kept in a safe place and not used for anything until the actual claim. Please read the instructions thoroughly.

The "encrypt message" option is disabled if the address you are trying to send NEM to has never made a transaction before. (This is a requirement for encrypted messages.)

I think the UI should be a little more clear about this, though.

EDIT: I just realized I'm way behind on the conversation here, but oh well... My answer still stands. lol

Dear developers,

It'd be great if any of you would be kind enough to share your Maven or InteliJ settings.  

For Maven, I kept getting the error message telling me that it cannot find the main class: org.nem.core.deploy.CommonStarter in the maven webstart plugin??    I tried to go back and edit the pom.xml file to declare the main class using configuration tag, but I am really having a hard time understanding it and solving it.

I also tried InteliJ since it's the IDE jaguar recommended.  However, I got over 70 error messages!!!    I'm using javac1.8 to compile the main program.

I'm about to give up here.    I'm a C guy, and java is not really my thing.  

But, if anyone is kind enough to share your project files with me, maybe I can come up with a custom frontend.

Would really love to help dev for NEM.

PS: I've been spending hours trying to figure out this error, and I have to say I'm truly puzzled.  I see the mainclass has already been declared, and it does exist in the CodeBase to my knowledge, so why does it complain???

I have thought that eg. pure gold is too soft and a practical purity for gold would be 85 - 93 %.

It means that each (NIS)node is tied to an account when entering the network. You need to supply the data. You do that by clicking on the menu item "Boot local node".

How do I do this? Which Node Name do I supply? Is this even relevant in creating the account number and private key in order to send via the AE for the distribution?
