Do these units come with DHCP configured by default, or do you have to connect with a computer in the same subnet (192.168.1.x?) and turn DHCP on?

Based on their older documentation (the S3 manual is still not posted), I assume that it's the latter.

Was I helpful?   BTC: 3G1Ubof5u8K9iJkM8We2f3amYZgGVdvpHr

Yes they are static from the factory at 192.168.1.99
NO DHCP enabled.

I only have a signature because I'm allowed.

The units themselves are all around 38-40 but the cables are definitely running hotter than the same setups did with S1's.
I will not be OC'ing these!

As long as they pull less current trough the cables than the S1s overclocked then I highly doubt it, though I guess maybe the S3 defies the laws of physics!

edit: The simple explanation might just be that on the S1 that used a open design some of the airflow was hitting the cables and hence cooling them, now with the S3 there just is no airflow on the cables and they run warmer.

Yea I think that's a very good guess.  I am going to get some additional fans moving air around them so hopefully that will cool them down a bit.  Again, they aren't HOT but they are warm.
better have a big fan shooting at ur miners
so it'll cool of the case itself and the cables(ofc)

i doubt that the case will be really cool, i think it'll be warm
mine at B2, cant confirm my statement HAHAHA

My casing are cold/warn and my cables are cold (using a Corsair RM 1000)

Are you running two S3s of that RM 1000?

Affirmative

That's the same as the S1's.

where do they sell power supplies like that? Is it dell? did it come with that board also? Smiley

That's sidehack's breakout board.  You can find out more here:

http://www.gekkoscience.com/products/D750_supply_breakout_board.html

I believe he is currently having a sale for these for like $55.  You can find his thread in the groupbuy section.  If he is out,  minersource carries them also.

Hello everyone,

When we were doing the first mass production, we found that not all of the S3’s DC/DC module could be stable enough to support the 478GH/s speed. After long time testing, all of the S3 run stably at 441GH/s, which however is 7.7% less than the 478GH/s we have announced.

So we decide the final specification of ANTMINER S3 here:

Hash Rate: 441 GH/s or more
Power Consumption: about 340 Watt at the wall when running at 441GH/s
Power Efficiency: 0.77 J/GH on wall
Power Supply: 12V DC
Size:  331 mm x 137 mm x 160 mm
Fans: Two 14038 fans mounted on both front and back ends.
Operating Temperature: 0 °C to 35 °C
Complied with: FCC / CE
Network Connection: Ethernet

Many of the customers may be lucky to find that their S3 can be overclocked to 478GH/s.

We apologize for this incident. We offer two options for customers:

1)   10.0% worth of coupon for the B1~B3 customers. This is the default option. (10% based on what you have paid for the B1~B3)
2)   7.7% worth of refund. We will release a function on our official website for application of this option. If you have bought from our resellers, please contact them and provide your Bitcoin address.

Shipping schedule updated:

Batch 1: The shipping will be finished in 14th and 17th.
Batch 2: It will be shipping out between 18th and 19th.
Batch 3: It will be shipping out between 19th and 22nd.

Well, the time for Batch 1 shipping has come and went and my Batch 1 order has yet to ship. I hope that Bitmain does the honorable thing and provide refunds for those of us that bought Batch 1, but are receiving miners that are going out with Batch 2. I would be happy with the difference in Batch1 & Batch 2 prices. That only seems fair.

Nice set up you got there!!

Silly question, but aren`t the ethernet cable ports supposed to be at the back of the unit??

You would think, but exhaust is on the other side. Pull / Push setup.

They are loud. Awesome PSU's, just loud as hell. GF won't let me have them in the house anymore. Something about "I can't hear myself think over those damn things!!" Thinking isn't her best attribute.  Wink

Actually that board has a knob for fan speed so you can turn down and it is really quite.

22 mins in 445 Gh/s (still going up) Fan speed is pretty much the same .. temp also 38-40. It looks like we could push those more with the correct DC/DC component replacement.

Thanks, I have had for a month and a half now and no problems but will keep an eye on them. You have a bad experience with one?

Yeah, but if you turn them down too much you will start seeing your hash rate drop.  I have 3 of them load balanced running 5 OC'd S1's in my warehouse at work.
