The title of the thread is "Pictures of your mining rigs!",so by definition it should be about mining rigs, bitcoin or altcoin/shitcoin,should make no difference IMO,but who am I  Roll Eyes
Bitcoin Forum > Bitcoin > Mining > Hardware > Pictures of your mining rigs!

Mikestang's right. If all the posts are about non-bitcoin mining hardware I'll just close the thread. You can start one in altcoin mining.

So by that logic ONLY Bitcoin related things should be allowed in this entire forum!!!

No altcoin sections should exist in any form.......

Need to get rid of ALL other sections that do not pertain to Bitcoin  Wink

Updated pic: 5 s7, 2 s5. all plugged into 5 20amp sockets.

There is a 24inch drum fan against the back wall blowing right at the miners. The 6inch duct brings in cold air from the AC. The orange blower is attached to a 4in dryer hose that pumps some of the heat outside and some into the finished side of the basement where the air return is.

it aint pretty but it works.

Here my KNC Titan mining rig, not mining any BTC for over a year now.
5 out of 8 mining currently, running at a steady (combined) 450 MH/s

I think you think you're being clever playing devil's advocate, but you either can't follow logic or you don't understand its definition.
Bitcoin Forum > Alternate cryptocurrencies > Altcoin Discussion

Half of the time I am looking at other thing's then just the miner's.  I am looking at cooling, or storage which is shelf's on a lot due to cost's.   I would agree altcoin allows for much more variation on setup and are interesting.  So I hope it remains mixed on miner's types as it has been for a very long time.

But can't argue some with a miner or two can be boring just all depends.  Again cooling really impresses me on some so some even with just a few can be interesting at least for me.

agreed, but we now see two types of setup mostly: large-scale (10kw+, which i love to see) or those with just a small handful of antminers tucked in a corner. gone are the insane contractions with large, unstackable and varying equipment styles.

heres what my setup looked like about 1 year ago - before the 1w/GH gear started to be shut down and sold/dismantled. now i only have a single s7 in hosting and a few sp3x units i need to sell still

Quoted for your pict to show.

To comment on what you wrote, I think that very soon we are even going to stop seeing the small handful of miners pictures as well.  With the halving happened and diff continuing to rise it's going to be a world of only mega-mines very shortly.

I think you're right - but i saw that coming for a while, ever since the antminer S1 made compact, stackable miners a possibility. Its always been profitable where the power and overhead costs are cheap, and basic rules of industry dictate that mega-____ can almost always beat mom&pop-_____'s profit margins. The world of digital, funible assets is a capitalist/industrialist's wetdream, and i suspect all mining will physically decentralize while selling shares/hosting that creates better decentralisation of mining revenue/coin-creation

Mining will be done by the corp that can do it the cheapest, not by us "home miners".

It's been over for us for quite awhile now, just a few free power or converters of cash to btc via mining folks left. The corps have taken over mining since over a year ago, almost 2  Sad

Not sure what you mean by "physically decentralize",that cannot & will not happen unless the price of btc hits the floor (less than $200 per) or for some reason the ASICs die out, yeah right....... Roll Eyes

whoops, i mis-typed my comment.

I meant that mining would physcically CENTRALIZE, but that these central datacenters could be owned by an increasingly decrentralised base of investors/hosters.

(for example, greatnorthdata might have several megawatts in a single facility, but the hardware is owned/controlled by several dozen (several hundred in future perhaps) different miners

Mining shares don't work...have you tried em?? I have twice & lost each time Tongue

Maybe IF you own the miner & find a cheap place to host (which is not the same as shares),but shares of miners fail every time................

Show me the profit or breakeven of your Greatnorthdata shares Cheesy

right now, its not reliable. its full of scams and high prices. but as bitcoin becomes better regulated and trusted technology companies get involved i expect it will become much easier and safer to own shares or assets with "transaction verification services" such as bitfury.

were only a few years into this project - if its still kicking in 2020 i expect much more mature and powerful services built around both bitcoin's use and mining

You forgot to plug in the S9s (or are they S7s?), they mine better if you plug them in.  Wink

Clean looking gear, thanks for sharing.

Nevermind the PSU, good case would clean that mess. Today bought HAF 912, clean work, cooler temps compared to non-case option. Just waiting for second card, so I can upload photos from full rig.
