The thing is, each time I have enough Bitcoin, I turn around and convert it to dollars to pay some of my credit card bill (not because of the miners, just need the cash to pay it) so I'm not hanging on to BTC long enough but at the price I'm getting, with BTC ~ $450-$470 USD, the extra couple of hundred that has gone to the credit card makes a big difference.

Nothing wrong with this strategy, as long as you're aware the income stream is steadily declining.

Some miners mine and hold BTC, some miners mine and sell BTC, some miners mine and reinvest BTC into more gear.

Smart miners do a little of all of the above.   Cheesy

For that amount of power I would be paying ~$2600/month.  If you want more details let me know.

That is proprietary information, so I'll never tell. I am very happy with the cost and quality of this co-location facility, and it's close to where I live.

I think you will need some server grade Water Cooled AC system, which will not dry the air to the point, that heat exchange will suffer. Hope this is helpful. Google it.

Evaporative cooling is cost effective if you're in really dry climate. Or else you have a choice to pay quite a lot more to cool everything with refrigerated cooling ("AC"). You'd need to install a huge capacity system for that many miners.

The other option is to actively ventilate the rooms with very high flow of air from outside. You can calculate how much airflow (or air exchanges) will be needed if you know the heat output of all your miners, the heat capacity of air (google) and your typical outside temperatures.

Actually I realized something: If I put my miners by a window with their exhaust fans pointing out, the room does not get hotter than ambient and they act as nice little exhaust fans. Only heat in the room is from the Corsair power supplies. Likewise my water-cooled units are running with the radiators in the window, fans blowing out.

Then a normal window fan is in the opposite side of the house blowing inward to pressurize the room and draw the coolest air from the north side of the house.

This has solved my summer heat problems; no AC needed.

yeah gonna try that in my bsmt in upper midwest usa .so ...Aug 1/2 Sept may be an issue....may lose a bit in eff on the miner due to heat those months..but will likely make it up with a/c costs of NONE later (ie heat for the house also a bit of a $$$ saver) at least till Dec when the wheels fall off on the btc miner at that point ie unplug as diff is too high

worse case will make small room/closet put miner on high shelf under bsmt window toss small a/c unit in window blows over miner and do your fan at other end of the bsmt to keep air flow thru the bsmt

or

i could  just say the heck with it and sell the beast for the btc it prob would make on ebay heh (ebay bitcoin miner buyers are crazy)

good to have options

What is that, 100 TH/s ?  Shocked Shocked Shocked

Very nice, dude!

Its funny to look at that then go to the activemining thread where they promised 170TH but cant seem to pass 100TH because of cooling and power issues. All while using hardware they produced/sell and is 20% more efficient than the dragons

that dragon farm looks sweet, and is truly the new ASIC porn Smiley

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461
No longer a wannabe - now an ASIC owner!

Was but the room turned into a furriness hitting 47Degrees, the A/C units are shit anyone any recommendations on cooling that doesnt involve proper DC grade heat extraction and recovery?

This is what I thought when I saw the pictures. I was laughing very hard when I saw the mining gear and the two little air cons on the wall.  Grin Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
I pretty much had the same experience in 2011 with the company which outfitted our new offices and therefore the server room (5 racks only, with normal computing gear ... no miners). I told them, when I looked at it (almost the same units you have), that this is not going to work. 3 kW cooling compared to 12 kW power consumption for computation. It took them 2 iterations (!!!) to believe me, upgrading twice, then replacing it entirely with 20 kW cooling systems. They could have had this done at a fraction of the price they paid in the end, if they would have asked someone who has a clue (not me, I'm not an expert in cooling, but I know when something is hugely undersize/estimated).

So my advice to you is: Do not toy around with stupid cheap ideas! Get an expert opinion and just spend the money once and not 3 times with BS crap. You can reuse the small units you have in your house (at home), they are good to cool around 50 to 60 sqm where people work/live (but not computing gear, except the odd PC or laptop).

Good luck!
