Looks like SLG is starting to see more volume. Here's to this trend continuing!

I think we might see some significant gains in the future.

Sterlingcoin entered trading at 120001 Satoshi on the 22nd of September 2014 on the Bittrex exchange. On the 23rd of September Sterlingcoin was at 27043 Satoshi and then on the 24th of September the price dropped again to 14379 Satoshi. From the 25th of September to present the price very gradually dropped to the 2000/2500 Satoshi mark for around two months and towards the end of November the price moved again to a range between 1200 & 2200 Satoshi. Pow/PoS is now past the 80% stage and more services are on their way for Sterlingcoin. Where will the price go next?

We have seen a price increase starting earlier today.

Is this because of the release of 1.4 or the realisation of PoW/PoS coming to an end?

The trend continues on into the evening with a total volume of 1 Bitcoin across Bittrex, Cryptsy and Bleutrade.

We have moved up from 220th just yesterday to 215th position against all currency and asset based cryptocoins on CoinMarketCap.

The price rebound everyone spoke about seems to be happening, is this the case?

Transactions explorer is getting a update today.  Should have address search working.  Just in case you all are curious about what I am doing I have been writing a lot of code for the Sterlingcoin systems.  Everything you see is mostly done from scratch except existing libraries and the use of other components that are hacked apart.  The Sterlingcoin Transactions explorer is a made up of two parts. A backend, Bitcoin ABE (https://github.com/bitcoin-abe  Abe developers) and a frontend, the actual site (http://transactions.sterlingcoin.org.uk).  The frontend has been written in PHP and also has a few node js modules that carry data between the frontend and a few other services.  The backend which uses Bitcoin ABE has been modified to support X13 coins (credits will be here soon I lost the link) and I have also modified a few ways that it stores data. It has two options to use MySQL (Default for Bitcoin ABE backend) or also REDIS (still in the works).  The Richlist is a script that has been modified by me as well from RPC ACE (https://github.com/stolendata/rpc-ace/  Robin Leffmann).  Using his code I was able to set up a semi-live richlist for Sterlingcoin.  I am rewriting the code in node js and working on a more live version using blocknotify or RPC notify and implement a AJAX frontend to provide the updated data.
This is just a few examples of what I have been doing for the community.  I have been very busy with many things and just want to let you all know I'm still here working hard to bring you all the goodies I can.  I work on a few other projects as well to help make some money to eat, so you may see me in other threads.  Check back in a few days and I will provide you all with details on a few other current projects that will be updated in the next few weeks.
Smiley

Great job! Smiley
Looking forward to what you have in store!

Great job Matthew!! Can't wait for your update in a few days!!

Well let's not get too large of a price spike before PoW ends. I am still trying to mine a few more morsels before liftoff.

Server 1 is offline currently. This means the pool and the main seed is down. Seed 2 is online and so is seed 3.  We will have it up soon as possible as we didn't pay the server bill.  Currently none of has the money to pay for the server so looking like it may be down for a day or so.  From the beginning Sterlingcoin has been been funded by the team and this all adds up. With over $150/month in server charges and no ICO with Sterlingcoin and no other funds it's been hard to pay the bills.  Sorry for the down time.

Update:

Steve Saxton has paid the bill.  You all should give him a nice thank you for waking up in the middle of the night and covering the server costs for Sterlingcoin to move on.

We have calculated at 720 blocks per day (which is about what we are producing for PoW) that there are roughly 22 days left of PoW.

Take PoS into account and lets just say 2 - 3 weeks of PoW/PoS mining left.

linux mint 16

Thought so.

Easiest option is to upgrade to Mint 17 or 17.1

Or follow this guide: http://tutorialforlinux.com/2014/03/28/how-to-install-qt5-sdk-on-linux-mint-16-petra-32-64bit-easy-visual-guide/

We recommend Ubuntu for ease of use and compatibility.

I updated to ubuntu 14.10 (it was time for an upgrade anyway) I complied the new wallet, that went well, as the splash screen came up I got the following error:

A fatal error occurred. Sterlingcoin can no longer continue safely and will quit.

EXCEPTION: St13runtime_error
CDB() : can't open database file , error 21
sterlingcoin in Runaway exception

Any ideas Dev?

Edit: seems to be fine now, all is good.

Btw, you did a sterling job on the new wallet, pun intended Smiley

This is normal of PoW/PoS wallets. Once you relaunch you will never see this message again.

Thank you for the sterling words leigh2k14 Wink

We have 15310 blocks left to go. That means 12.1 days left of PoW/PoS. Next week on 3 january around 8pm (London time) should we turn to 100% PoS.

Let's see if the active part of this board can waken up the sleeping part of this board that was a part of SLG in the first 2-3 weeks. When someone actually paid 0.009BTC a pop for about 50 SLG. Wink He or she will probably want that back and then some, I'm guessing.

Can we get more people enthusiastic for SLG and will we be able to get some more services, tech and merchants in?

We feel that they haven't gone anywhere and that they are more than likely lurking in the shadows.

The new wallet is working well. If on the next update you added the ability to keep a minimum block size after staking as they do with HYP it would be very convenient.

We will take a look at HYP to see the option you speak of.

EDIT: Could you please send us a link to specifics for the feature you are talking about, many thanks (save us some time).
