Meanwhile, it seems UTC will soon no longer have the largest marketcap for scrypt-chacha. And the coin that will be ahead of UTC has only one working pool. I am a big fan of decentralization, but the cost-benefit analysis of what you are doing is clear. Besides, that 3% takeaway from miners for the 'dev' fund becomes pretty meaningless as the price continues to fall. Just my thoughts...

May the best coin win.

My prediction was right--surprise? UltraCoin has already been surpassed as the top scrypt-chacha coin. Kracko, fix your pools. Thank you! Smiley

"Maybe so, but UTC is still fast enough for live use."

What are you talking about?

Fast enough for use like debit cards. Wait time is not too long.

I don't understand your broken English. Listen to me, and you might learn something. I honestly did not think you meant that 1 min block times translated to some sort of 'fast' or instant transaction through the blockchain? But apparently you do think that? If you do, YACoin is better off without you I promise. Lack of education and understanding is the best way to scare off real investors.

FUD, personal insults and trolling is back in this thread.
All signs of a living coin.  Cool

At the moment UTC-price looks as bad as most of my other coins, thats kind of interesting.
BTC-Price goes down --> Alts go down
BTC-price goes up --> Alts go more down

I'll guess we will see better times when BTC stabilizes a bit and I'm confident that we will see higher prices again.

Lets grab some more coins at 0.000007.

UTC is only coin which are fast enough for real live use.

That may have been the case in the past, however there are other alts which are just as fast, some even faster.

Fast enough for real live use + other like asic resistant.

UTC will rise soon.. Now is good opportunity to buy. So cheap.  Cheesy

What coins are "some even faster" ?

As I though  there are any faster and even as fast than UTC  Grin

UTC is fast but... I can tell that you havent seen 10k or some other new PoS coins transactions, compared to those coins UTC is like family sedan compared to F1 bolids, so yes there are few I could say much, much faster coins... and they are also asic resistant cause they are PoS... and PoW or PoS are only coin production/distribution methods.

thanks good to know. You cannot mine PoS so they are out of my table

You can mine and fast enough + asic resistant so UTC can offer more.  Cheesy

... thats why I said that PoW or PoS are only coin production/distribution methods. PoS can be high and can produce coins more profitable than any PoW algorithm also for wide adoption and end user usage it's also total irelevant whether coin is PoW or PoS and looking that way, I'm sorry to say, UTC is nothing special anymore.
Whole altcoin idea with different algorithms is on wrong way cause there should be something other than cost of electricyty which will give value to some or any coin... and right now there are only few coins which are not in that group and totaly unregulated markets/exchanges also not helping.
Anyway if we go back to transaction speed needed for daily clik and brick businesses UTC is nothing more than one good family sedan.

Maybe so, but UTC is still fast enough for live use. So UTC features are good enough and UTC is heavily undervalued. Sure something new could add and refine old and good UTC. I trust dev team they know what they are doing. Sure they could be here in forum more. Its so strange here have been from start group of people who don't want anything than something bad to UTC, what they are fearing?

You are wise YAdaminer what is you instruction for UTC and message for UTC dev team.

I think that this whole crypto world is fuck up at this point. Too much thiefs and imbalance. Crypto is point where something must happened or it will wade a way. If you always jump to better Ferrari there are only very small group of people who can play cards right. What will happened no new investment to crypto -> almost all is going down. Asic are bad, too much thief's and new coins which are better than old ones (there will be always be new ones next week or next month + inflation is too big because new investments are not enough.)

Look I'm not trying to be smart guy which will say 'I told you...' but I was mining UTC from day 1 and at that time it seemed that thare are some good plans behind it but than it turned that this is bigger than one man can handle, some bad decissions were made, fights happened... than some changes were done but hiperproduction of shitcoins started and once a good project lost his momentum.
Then few months back some profitability change happened and UTC again got some steam but only thing which can save UTC longterm is a real life purpose, other than that its only story, hype, FUD,... As you said there is to much scams in altcoin so I cant see any serious investor that will come to any coin. The biggest whales in crypto are people with questionable real life reputation and I think that explains everything. Why would any serios investor choose/pick some or any coin, but if that happen that one can surpass BTC in almost notime, the question is why would anyone choose some coin for his goals and risk to be scamed or robbed on unregulated exchanges when he can easily create his own coin and open his own exchange with rules he will aplly in a way to make trading normal as it supposed to be.
There are some coins which are right now in creation/production/mining phase whicah are avoiding this scamy altcoin btct scene and their existance is only a tool which will backup a real life business we'll see if they will bring some change to crypto world.
So,... I dont have any message for UTC management, I just shared few thoughts one of which is ultra fast transactions is not anymore UTC adavantage.

Yeah I am so sorry of my english.

Still this coin is fast enough for use like debit card, not too long waiting time.

"Lack of edu... " There just that what i mean..you just proved my words.

Of course I could visit Yac forum but I don't want to go so low like you are doing.

You are right, I have been saying this for some time now, the most important thing for any cryptocurrencies are real world tangible uses. That means being able to participate in commerce with a cryptocurrency, to create an economy, and to create a community of users who have faith in that currency. Of course, Ultracoin's position as an ASIC resistant alternative is also very attractive, but these are just distribution methods, the most important part is the economics behind the coin. The problem I see in the crypto world, is that too many people are much more interested in "investing" than they are in "spending". Bitcoin has value because people use it as currency, it was originally very popularly used as a black market currency, a median to trade drugs and other hot items across the internet, to then be converted back into USD. Of course, this wasn't Bitcoin's intended purpose, but it is what got it its start. Over time more and more people adopted the currency as a median of exchange. I believe today, many people aren't simply "investing" in BTC any longer, they are using it as a means of exchange, perhaps that is why Bitcoin's price has been more stable than it used too. It may be a bit lower, but people are not afraid to spend their BTC. I am still very proud of Ultracoin, and still very much a part of the problem, but perhaps Yadaminer is right, this project is too large for only a few people to take on. Kracko has been doing outstanding work, and I have been doing the most I can with the resources I have available. I still believe that we have what it takes to make it big in the crypto world, the industry is so young, and crypto is still set to take off as the "next big thing". I truly believe we can do it, and I will be working as hard as I can to get us there, but we need help. A few months ago, I put up a post for some positions we need to be filled in order to progress as the rate we should be while maintaining the quality and structure of the team. These positions are still open, and I encourage all members of the community to seriously consider becoming a part of the team and becoming an action taker to help us reach our goals:

- Positions:

• Merchant Outreach Officer
 - Assists me in reaching out to new businesses and assisting them in implementing Ultracoin acceptance
• Event and Showcase Representative
 - Stays updated with future events that could be used as an opportunity to showcase Ultracoin and gets in touch with community members in that location who would be willing to represent Ultracoin as assisted by the Ultracoin team
• Graphic Design Specialist
 - Provides logos, designs and artwork to the marketing team as a project partner, we also need a web design specialist
• Business Relations Representative
- Assists me in researching and reaching out to organizations such as non-profits, businesses and communities to jointly promote, accept or use Ultracoin
• Quality Assurance Officer
 - Provides feedback on the state of Ultracoin's infrastructure as an end user, from UltracoinTalk, Ultracoin.net, Coinpayments, UseUltracoin, etc, and suggests areas of improvement
• Social Media Specialist
 - Helps update and optimize our social media platforms for maximum outreach
• Community Relations Representative
 - A direct tie to the Ultracoin community and management team that keeps both parties up to speed on each others activities, wants and needs

Ladies and gentlemen, in order for Ultracoin to grow, we need community involvement. Our management team can only do so much, and as I said in the beginning of 2015, YOU, are whom will ultimately decide the future of Ultracoin, as you are the community, the very fabric of Ultracoin's existence. If you don't believe you can do much to help Ultracoin, remember that I started out only as a community member, getting my feet wet in crypto as I built the first official forum for Ultracoin, since then I have stepped up to Management Director because I believe Ultracoin is better than 99% of cryptocurrencies out there. I did what I could, in my own capacity, to help Ultracoin grow, as many others have done. Please help me to do the same, and together we can bring Ultracoin back to it's rightful position in the cryptocurrency world. Please consider these positions, or any other position (listed or not) that you believe would be fitting for yourself and consider donating your time to helping an outstanding project that has the ability to help shape world we live in. Ultracoin will be a success, if you want it.

Sincerely,

Steven "Rapture"

@Beav *slow clap* Give the man a gold star.  You've had a hand in it.  Your whining, belittling and condescension are all things that we could do without, and haven't helped us out in the slightest.  Whenever there's been announcement, there's nearly always been a snide remark.  Instead of being the wind beneath our wings, you're more like a lead weight tied to our ankles.  Perhaps you'll move on to this other scrypt-chacha coin and share your "wisdom" with them.  I'm sure they'd really appreciate it...  Trust me when I say, you would not be missed in the least if you were to go away.

Oh dear where has the buy support gone.  Not looking good for UTC from where I am sitting, my small bag is now worthless.

UTC has been on a downward spiral since the Miami conference last year, such a shame.

Valpe, Dopecoin offers lightning fast transactions, it might be POS but it is still an alive coin.

This i find an intresting topic !

UTC is not goin very well at this moment, but indeed, the whole market goes not well.

So it is not only a UTC thing.

Can we mayby start an normal en respectfull "open" discussion (without trolls) and discous about pro's and con's for UTC to go full poss ?

I know we have community members who like that idea and also members who are against it to go full poss.

But mayby it could be a possibility for UTC.

Please only a open and respectfull discussion about it without attacking each other ....

Good idea for a discussion BorisWCR

Personally POS is good option for me because I just cannot seem to mine this coin other than using SHA on Multipool. The SHA options on Multipool are only two - and now not even available.  Have suggested best coin options in a previous post but appreciate Kracko is busy. Last time I looked nobody was mining any algo on MP.

What are the disadvantages of dropping POW and going full POS?  Cuts out small holders on distribution (% wise its fair but total coin distribution favours large holders - the rich get richer basically).  Cuts out the loyal miners who have invested time and money in mining hardware. But to be fair here with POW - those who have spent the most on hardware to mine UTC get proportionally richer (so it just favours a different group) - but thats not really a bad thing either - if you invest and take a risk you should get the reward.

Advantages of POS - From my minimal understanding POS seems more secure when you have low mining hashrate across network. Its harder to cheat POS. This is certainly the case for UTC.  Makes the coin more environmentally friendly - less energy expended on maintaining the network.  This is a great plus in my opinion and is a coin selling point.  Of course POS is ASIC resistant - but I dont really see this as a significant point anymore when the new GPU's are really just the new ASICs for the ASIC proof coins? Encourages people to BUY and HOLD - bloody huge benefit.  Cuts out continual sell off by miners trying to cover power costs - bloody huge benefit.

I like the mix of POS and POW - but with all the issues I see here with mining it really restricts newcomers getting into the coin.  Kracko is working on the EasyMiner - this may change the landscape.  It may not?  The DGB Easyminer is great but not much take up and suspicions over security in the application.  MYR easyminer has all but become redundant now.  Its hard to create these across many systems and sort the glitches for each user - its a nightmare. If the coin really takes off - then these easyminers really do have a place.

Personally I see POS as the future - POW is not sustainable.

I would put POS reward to 10% per year (dropping by 1% per year to stabilise at 3-5% based on average rates of return on term deposits) so investments are equitable across range of options - and drop POW completely.

This would certainly disadvantage the loyal UTC miners who are the strongest supporters of UTC.  So this is a big issue.

I am open to your constructive criticism and wise discussions.

Cheers - usukan

This i find an intresting topic !

UTC is not goin very well at this moment, but indeed, the whole market goes not well.

So it is not only a UTC thing.

Can we mayby start an normal en respectfull "open" discussion (without trolls) and discous about pro's and con's for UTC to go full poss ?

I know we have community members who like that idea and also members who are against it to go full poss.

But mayby it could be a possibility for UTC.

Please only a open and respectfull discussion about it without attacking each other ....
