Cryptsy:
Our wallet is currently offline due to issues with the coin's blockchain

So there are problems with a purse, or not? I removed with Cruptsy FlutterCoin without any problems today.

you can't believe anything that Cryptsy says

They release a new list of coins you might be lucky enough to withdraw every so often (running down in alphabetical order) - most dont work for long cos they run out.

Don't think the list is down to "U" for UTC yet - anyhow I think Cryptsy still have not fixed their UTC wallet since the last fork - so your mssg from them is not likely to change - they won't have anyone updating wallets - they have all run to far flung lands with fake passports etc.

This coin is very insecure:

Over 50% hashrate (up to 80%) is from a single user each time the difficulty retarget mechanismus fuckkks up a few times a day.

yeah agree - and only one exchange that I know of for trade.

But since its worth bugger all - the risk itself is bugger all too.

Lots of alts on their way up, unfortunately not UTC...
What a waste of a good opportunity to be a contender...could have so easily been you, with a bit more management and guidance... Undecided

yeah - UTC used to be about the same as VTC - now VTC is 100 times one UTC in price.

Incidentally - I transferred a few coins around yesterday and speed of 6 confs was interesting.

UTC was approx 60 seconds - as was ETH (1-2 mins)
DOGE was 6-10 mins
PPC was about 20-25 mins
DEM - 2-3 mins

BTC was about 50 - 90 mins

So our poor old UTC is still functional and competitive on speed at least.

You probably just happen to send coins during a flash mining period, but the vast majority of times it takes hours to get 6 confirmations (see my previous post). And as much as I dislike Eth, it's pretty fast with its ~17 second block time.
Also, if it takes 50-90 mins for a bitcoin transaction to comfirm (3 transactions) you're either unlucky or you're not paying enough in fees (which is your fault) which is again, not representative.

It's a shame that this coin is slowly decaying due to such a stupid mistake that is the broken difficulty retarget. What's more stupid is that there isn't even a plan on fixing it - even though it should be somewhat easy to fix for people even remotely familiar with coin development - or so I heard.
If you hold any meaningful amount of UTC, I'd suggest spamming the devs to wake them up or organizing a takeover.

Full disclosure, I don't hold any meaningful amount even though I got a fair amount by only mining in flash mining periods but once I really loved this coin so I find it a shame to watch it slowly die.

Not your keys, not your coins!

Yes - this was the case

I said 6 confs (not 3) - fees were correct. It was an even playing field for all coins - 6 confs.  At a block average of 1 per 10 mins - of course its going to be approx. 60 mins for 6 confs for BTC.  Since when did 3 confs satisfy fully confirmed status in a wallet?  On some exchanges maybe but not wallets and if you are being careful.  6 confs is still the standard.  It excludes any real risk.

Yeah I think Steven has disappeared - end of the line until the takeover occurs unless Steven and a new dev or devs magically appears from the mist.

Do you have any contact with Steven?  Is he alive and well?

Thanks usukan

unfortunately, this coin no longer has any "devs" to speak of. afaik kracko has stepped down (and rightfully so as from what i gather his schedule doesn't permit addressing such issues). Steven is a PR manager, and aleneeva is a pool operator...so there is no actual coin developer for UTC anymore.

Its been a long time (relatively) since I stepped away from all things UTC, but have followed along with this tragic tale. I know there are plenty of UTC bagholders out there just waiting for the grass to magically become greener...but that just doesn't happen out of sheer will. Unless someone (or a collective of persons) wants to front out the cold hard BTC to fix this shitstorm, then bagholders you shall remain.

The Devs must take responsibility right now and inform us !

They must take action very soon to organize and fix the technical problems and to set UTC back on track.

Steven and Kracko are hiding and that’s a bad thing.

UTC and the UTC community doesn’t deserve this. Too many people has invested in UTC.

We all must spamming the devs indeed. so they wake up and start taking action again.

Or the Devs must post here that they want to stop and that they want to find a new Dev team for takeover.

If Steven doesn’t let hear anything i guess it would not be hard to confront him in real life and ask him why he is absent.

Steven's family name is findable one this forum and i heard somewhere he is a manager of  a view supermarkets.

So it would not be very hard to find out were he lives and speak to him in real life, from face to face, and have a serious business conversation about the future of UTC

Situation seems to be quite bad. I know one way to contact Kracko. I hope they will stop hiding. Kracko can be found from linkedin.

best regards

Steven - I see you last checked this thread 31 Jan 2016. Thats only 8 days ago - so you are still around and know we are getting a little anxious here.

Can you please let the community know whats the plan - even if there is no plan - so we at least know what to do to resurrect UTC.

Thanks - usukan

What has been going on here is the classic exit strategy that has happened with so many coins before.  The time frame between dev posts simply gets longer and longer and looooonger until poof they disappear for good.

You know rapture is not the CEO of the UTC company.

I know this is a crazy idea...

Someone could step up and be a leader. Create another website, restart a new thread, take charge and get that broken wallet fixed.

I know that is crazy-talk... Or you could just simply move on to a different coin.

Is the *decentralized* concept that drove crypto in the beginning completely dead?
