Is it possible to use a USB to Sata adaptor and still have a good enough speed?
Will I make the same amount of coins?

Because 27 sata ports is impossible to run in one system.
The goal is to run it all in one system.

Not possible.

Not possible.

Are you sure?

I have a server rack and im thinking of using adaptors for it.

Your server was most likely restarted due to excessive load. If you maintain an load average over 2 for more than an hour, the server will be reset.

-ANNOUNCEMENT-

With other pools having issues, now is the perfect time to try out our new failover setup! http://burst.ga provides full failover for any reason, there are 8 monitor IPs that will constantly check the status of the pool, when any sort of non-response is returned, it will switch automatically over to the redundant backup pool! This means our pool is NEVER DOWN!!

Also, I'm doing another giveaway, until we get a sufficient number of people/power...

This time, I'm doing a giveaway based on mining power!

I will give you  1 burst per GB you have plotted!  That means if you bring 50 TB to our pool, I will give you 50k! I'm not sure how much power I'm looking to get right now, but I have no problem with spending 100k+.

What I need from you as proof, is a picture from your wallet showing your Numeric account ID, then screen shots of your plots, selected, showing size and your numeric account ID, then once your stats show on the pool, I will give you 50%. After your stats stay on the pool for 7 days, you will get the other 50%. I'm trying to get long-term miners here, not people who are just trying to take advantage of me giving away burst.

Also, I will donate the pool account 50k burst to be paid out to everyone mining, when the pool hits 100 miners again.

Thanks, and let's get our pool back into the top 3!!

We have another idea for more assets too, and Hardinvest, our first asset will be paying out soon, and will also be available for purchase again very soon!

So hit me up with those screen shots, and I'll hook you up with both a nice, redundant pool, and a bonus amount of burst!

also, FYI, if you don't have a miner that automatically checks for IP address changes, I would suggest setting up a restart script for your miners, so that in the case of a pool failure, the auto-failover will activate, your miner will restart, and you'll be good without ever having to touch anything. I can help people setup Windows Restart batch files, but I can't help linux users. Not quite affluent enough with that yet.

Thank you!

Ok, so it's probably been answered but I didn't see it in the 20+ pages I've read through. Can you use Cloud HDD's to mine like dropbox or icloud? I have a couple of tb's I'm not using for my business. Just wondering if I could put them to work since I'm paying them to sit there empty.

I am having difficulty woth speed even with SATA3 drives, lots of things that seens "could work" simply don't.
By my experience I would stay away of USB 2.0 drives.

I can't read plots of 32Tb in less than 2 minutes. All on Sata3.

What kind of sata3 setup do you have. different configurations will lead to different speeds. here is a quick example.

1. Device and mobo support SATA 2 - use of a SATA 3 cable will not get you the 6GB/s due to physical limitations of device and mobo.
2. Device and mobo support SATA 3 - use of a SATA 2 cable will not get you the 6GB/s due to physical limitation of the cable.
3. Device supports SATA 3, but mobo supports SATA 2 - using either SATA 2 or 3 cable will result in 3GB/s.
4. Device supports SATA 2, but mobo supports SATA 3 - using either cable will result in 3GB/s.
5. Device and mobo support SATA 3 - use of SATA 2 cable will result in 3GB/s
6. Device and mobo support SATA 3 - using a SATA 3 cable will get you the 6GB/s

You'll need to pull down about 250MB per terabyte per block.  That's bandwidth of about 1MB/s per terabyte.  I would guess you're very likely to make someone in the pipeline cranky if you keep it up.

That is a matter of CPU bottleneck, and not reading speed. Go ahead and open a process monitor on your system. When a new block starts you will see your CPU at 100% (and if not, you need a better miner).

Nice offer and awesome dedication from you!  Smiley

If I join, how would you like the "proof"...? I got +30tb running now and I'm still plotting; will hopefully have close to 50tb ready this weekend. That's on a few different rigs and a hell of a lot of drives - and possibly screenshots of plots.

Any idea how to simplify to verification in such a case?

well, I just need screenshots of your plot files, and properties on them showing the size, make sure I can read the numerical burst ID, then go to your wallet, and click so I can see your regular and numerical ID together. That will verify your ID. Then once I see your BURST name in the stats, I will send half of your payment, once you've been there for 7 days, I will check again, and then send the other half.

Thanks!

Yes, I am very dedicated to this, burst, the pool, etc. That will continue to show through my effort and new things added all the time.

I am having difficulty woth speed even with SATA3 drives, lots of things that seens "could work" simply don't.
By my experience I would stay away of USB 2.0 drives.

I can't read plots of 32Tb in less than 2 minutes. All on Sata3.

Didn't you have staggers of 8192 on your plots...? That's way too small. Use the plot optimizer from dcct (linux) or j6jq (win) to increase your staggers as much as possible.

crowetic you have write
I will give you  1 burst per MB you have plotted!  That means if you bring 50 TB to our pool, I will give you 50k!

1 burst for GB, not for MB  Grin

Right, that's what I meant. 1burst per gb.
