Quite unfortunately, pumps are one of the only things that get cryptocurrencies noticed. Before the pump, DarkCoin used to be a hidden gem, and anonymity wasn't a trend. After the pump, people like Max Keiser noticed DarkCoin, and many other currencies tried to copy it (anonymity features and X11 algo). Simply said, DarkCoin's pump to 0.03 BTC managed to bring it out to the light.

DogeCoin wouldn't have been much without the pump, (was 1 sat, was pumped to 200+ sats), and wouldn't have reached that many people it has today.

BITCOIN wouldn't have been as widespread if it wasn't pumped to $250, and then to $1.2K.

See, pumps are bittersweet. The price rockets up, and may inevitably come tumbling down in a correction, but in the process, the participants of the pump get to know the currency they are holding. "Oh, this has a new mining algo, ASIC n' GPU resistant", and "M7M? Never heard of that before, must be something new". And thats how news is spread. "Hey man, there's this currency with a CPU-only algo, and the price is mooning" or "Guys, this currency with M7M mining algo is about to become the next BitCoin".

Amidst the hype, that's where you'll find your dedicated investors. The investors that don't lose their bags in a 30% gain, but hold on to your currency because you are offering innovation; something many of cryptocurrencies lack.

Why are you so sure, in case that statement is true, that the DEV knew this user is part of a pump group? What's wrong, just as an example, to talk with users in the IRC channel? So when I for example tell you in IRC that we're planning to launch feature X and you make this public in your private pump group, I'm the bad boy?

Although I get your point, I personally didn't hate the pump yesterday. Coin holders who wanted to sell were able to sell at higher prices, Magi got some attention in the crypto world and after the dump you can use your BTC to buy XMG at lower prices.

But, of course, Magi shouldn't become a pump and dump coin. And I agree, pump groups shouldn't get insider information from the Dev team.

This really surprised me. I agree there were lots of buying yesterday, but did you see that we were releasing something and then got pumped (and this is not an exact pump but compared to past few days seems like that). The only news is the coinssource article, but you can confirm with the author that even I don't know when it will be published. I say I never told a person about the news & pumping. I agree what you posted could be something from a real group, but that is something other people are doing, none we can control. Also, the statement that people was talking is unlikely practical. PoS-II is already out, although we do have plan to improve it, but that really not something big deserved to pump; and do you think this is something I could told a pump group?? I am pretty sure many people out there are doing pumping and dumping in this cryptoworld, well I am suspecting XMG is yet kinda of "big" something deserved to pump. And I even don't think we have brilliant stuffs to feed into pumping. There were many updates in the past, and even many more news when XMG got into poloniex and bittrex. That would be the right time for a group to pump, but none happened. If other people are talking about XMG, that's good; I'm glad to see that even they are p&d group. But frankly speaking, I'd hate the pump that's the most harmful to a coin in some cases. Looking through this thread, do you think I am intending to do that and ruin XMG finally, even I doubt myself is experienced at marketing, let alone getting pumping. Just don't forget come back in the future when we release news and confirm if XMG gets pumped; I believe this is the way to confirm the pump argument.

As a matter of fact people are now getting aware that pumping/dumping isn't just a Negative thing, as targeted coins showed to be initially interesting. P&D has nowadays become a pretty expectable step into a popular coin growth ... Isn't that obvious ? It happened for ALL leading coins !!
Could someone SERIOUSLY bring a single proof against that statement ??

Pump & Dumping became more like a seal of approval rather than just an attack on a coin.

I'm sure that nearly all new coins got p&ded and as stated before, in general I don't have a problem with it for the reasons you stated (like a "welcome to the market"). What I (and I guess the whole Magi dev team & community) don't want is Magi getting a toy for traders and pumpers. We're doing our best give Magi a consistent value with a slow but steady growth. This coins has a serious development and the intention to continue where other coins stopped.

It's hard to spread the hashrate because the 50 XMG reward is not always come in smaller pool.
I can Get 100 Magi in half a day in nonce-pool, but 23 Magi for half a day in others.
Somebody need to adjust this.

but I still see 95% of the users really legit and out to do things right...


People are willing to do evil no matter what you and I talk about. Why? because its DECENTRALIZED.

That means if they want to shove their way into this space, and do their 'games' they can without anyone's permission, unfortunately. However, its not something magi is here for, and it'll remain that way. It's been stated from the very beginning, most cases, Magi is out to STOP those gaming the system with botnets/large farms that give regulars unfair advantages.  and even if you can't stop it-- try to prevent it by different factors and conditions.

How do I know that? because its talked about OFTEN in these threads/posts.  Magi is fighting botnets, large cpu farms, and new defense mechs to those who love to 'game' the system. But now with Magi Tor Wallet, it gives an anonymous option for those who want to remain that way.  So, you can decide, support that concept or not... its a community coin, with a solid foundation to support it as a community coin.

It was all rented out earlier!  Suchpool saw an increase of 25 new miners mining Magi m7m with either their existing users or new comers!  This is a good sign for the future as more users are either supporting magi on regular wallet, tor wallet, Mobile App (coinmarketapp) or once the mobile wallet comes out, and stay active on pools... the pool support is important for the community as it helps miners expand their reward possibilities!  I've called magi will exceed 100k views in the first 30 days... now I think its going towards direction of community growth.
