Well, i think you should learn to articulate a sentence some of us can understand and it would be nice if you would use an other word than "bitch". Maybe you could use a more friendly way to communicate, would help in a few situations in life  Shocked Wink

How high do you guys think the price will go when the GUI is out?

Short term? No difference, maybe some speculation / bull traps.

Longer term it helps adoption because it lowers the threshold to actual usage for new users. That adds real value. It still is for the more technical crowd who knows how to run a daemon / has the patience to download the whole blockchain. Easy to use mobile apps make the real difference if you ask me, like Bitcoin Breadwallet for the iPhone for example.

Thank you for your insight.
I tend to agree, GUI was kind of expected.
So what do you think should there be some kind of marketing taking place? After all, the core idea of marketing is to give information about product or service to newbies.
Perhaps some vloggers getting paid by introducing Monero to new audience? After all, the new users will not just appear here.

First idea i heard from you the last two month which is correct. Congratulations.  Cheesy

I wonder that nobody here noticed that it is the its the first time in awhile that the price is not dropping strong in the middle of the week.

@elrippo: Just gently put these kind of accounts to the ignore list and don't quote them. Unfortunately learned that from the wall observer thread..

Well losing money and doing bad decisions is no fun, please understand i probably suffer from adhd, i might be smart but my poor self-control has ruined everything for me which is truly sad. I ruined everything with two bad moves.

Also it's sad how many people lost money due to the xmr pump. I did consider rebuying now(higher price and i have less xmr) but i will have to wait now, cannot risk losing even more if the price falls again. Unfortinatily not many people listened to the xmr devs telling us not to invest.

XMR is a nice coin, i like it.

Ask yourself one very important question:
When the GUI is out, which reason do all those DNM users have to use BTC over XMR?

@adolf512
XMR is money and no one lost anything.  There are 13.1 millions coins what is a bit more then was a month ago. So people actually gained a bit more money.

If you decide to give someone else those coins, you will lose and he will gain.

if you have BTC just stick with that. hold BTC and that is it. BTC is also money.

here is my modest speculation of what will happen through March 2017-sh.

I would love to do a side-by-side comparison to the actual chart once march 2017 hits. I encourage others to do the same and see what our speculation(s) are and how they then compare months down the road. Just for fun.  Grin

@Bears please prove me wrong and make the prices go lower than my drawn lines below.

@Bulls please prove me wrong and make the prices go higher than lines I've specified.

I am calling a bottom at 8888.

- Just feels like that
- Dip below 0.01 was defended with reasonable volume and bounced back above
- Hammer in daily yesterday (albeit red)
- In accordance with everything I said since the pump started
- Lucky number.

Reasonable strategy is to not play FOMO. It aint goin higher. Buy methodically especially on dips. Stop-loss at 8888 if on margin.

Well, as I expected people are calling the beta gui already like the final GUI. For the devs I would recommend to add a big and clear note "beta" on that GUI. Every bug will be used against that coin otherwise.

I am not a day trader nor a whale, so to me Monero goes wherever it wants to go or is being steered. However I dare to challenge that we have already seen the bottom:

- In the past Monero has shown to be more firmly connected to the dollar price than the bitcoin price.
- Bitcoin is in a consistent uptrend.
- Price increase is usually quick and over reacting. A price decline usually hurts, badly, over a stretched period of time. That I feel we haven't experienced yet.
- Uncertainty in the market regarding potential privacy competitor Zcash.
- Monero has been around 0,50$ for a long time. A 10x price rise, that actually holds, would already be quite impressive.

So being bullish I speculate that Monero's current fair value is around 5$. That would mean between 0,007 and 0,008 BTC, if the price of Bitcoin remains stagnant. Which I think it will not. Let's see!

- You can figure out what will happen, not when /Warren Buffett
- Pay any Bitcoin address privately with a little help of Monero.

For the price to go lower, it requires that someone is willing to sell. Selling is not rational any more, buying is.

This may be an accurate call, especially if it attracts attention in China.

Quote
The word for "eight" (八 Pinyin: bā) sounds similar to the word which means "prosper" or "wealth" (發 – often paired with "發財" during Chinese New Years, but is used alone or paired with numerous other "compound words" that have a meaning of luck or success, Pinyin: fā). In regional dialects the words for "eight" and "fortune" are also similar, e.g., Cantonese "baat3" and "faat3". The word is also phonetically similar to the word for a hundred (百), alluding to greater wealth. Note as well, this particular symbol matches the mathematical symbol of infinity. While Chinese does have other words for luck, this full understanding of luck that includes the infinity concept marries into a Chinese understanding of this particular word.

There is also a visual resemblance between two digits, "88", and 囍, the "shuāng xĭ" ("double joy"), a popular decorative design composed of two stylized characters 喜 ("xĭ" meaning "joy" or "happiness").

Concerned that blockchain bloat will lead to centralization? Storing less than 4 GB of data once required the budget of a superpower and a warehouse full of punched cards. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/IBM_card_storage.NARA.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card
