OK looks like we're done here.  All Aboard!

I think it is just gonna range trade for a while.  The range is wider now because everyone is on edge, but it will vol-squeeze into another leg up eventually. Just guessing, yo.

I had might as well short some DASH with those BTC.  No way my 0118 low-ball bid is gonna fill with that 0123 wall there.

i saw so much coins go up and down. see etc at 0.005 and now 0.0025! maybe it will be the same with xmr it will fall down but it will stabilisize and go slowly up

Still nearly 5000 btc bids.  Not so steep as it was earlier, but impressive.
I have to sleep some time, I suppose now is good, while there is a lull in the excitement.  Only 10K XMR per minute volume.   Tongue

last squeeze i sold 30000 xmr
now i feel like an idiot to rebuy at 0.0129 with so much risk of the price sliding down  Embarrassed

Well, then do not buy and wait until the price drops down to 0,008x

What happened to waiting until the price drops to the .004s? Grin Grin

Wow, I didn't check the exchange for a few days and the price has rocketed. Now I'm pretty annoyed that I pushed most of my mining capaciry towards BCN instead of XMR, I still have a few XMR though.

Does someone have the link for the buy/sell service that runs via TOR  - I have someone in the UK who wants to buy some XMR directly.  This site is like local BTC but also offers various alts -  was on there the other day but can't find it now.

Many thanks in advance.

I think you meant Shapeshift (shapeshift.io) or CoinCut (http://blog.coincut.com/2016/08/17/buy-dash-ethereum-monero-gbp-wallets/).

Privacy matters, use Monero - A true untraceable cryptocurrency

He is ofcourse lying about his mining and of how profitable mining is.  Mining was very profitable when price was halved. Now is super profitable. But for sure miners will join with time.

Do the math yourself idiot. A single GTX 800 hashes at 600H/s - that is .2 XMR per day

I have XMR loans out on Polo for 0.49% a day for 60 days. Should they be out for the full duration that'd be a 29.4% XMR return.

Doubt we'll see those rates soon again though. Got them in when the price were around 0.005 and the XMR loaning market were illiquid since people rather took margin with their XMR or wanted to be ready to sell their XMR when it was breaking out thinking it will be temporary. Whoever has my XMR now is trapped inside a horrific short position and seemingly unwilling to cut losses.

This is something for miners who do not care about trading to be aware of. Next time XMR breaks out be sure to check out the lending market instead of taking the 0.15%/day rates you have there now.

Lucky you ... my loan was closed when we hit 950 :/

Sometimes you just run good! The fella on the other end must be in denial or a determined bear.

Still have these out.. crazy.

I just woke up (I slept late). What happened?  Shocked
So we are going now towards parity with btc and beyond?  Shocked

Aside with Etherium, Monero has joined in the club of good and valuable coins by breaking the initial ATH price from the times of early days.

I watched this all happen in real time so I didn't get to experience this. Please indulge me. What did it feel like to wake up and see that?
It happened during night un Europe. I went to sleep at ~0.0085,  breakout was annouced but unconfirmed. So i moved my orders into 0.0099-0.0120 (2% of my stash)
When i woke up, price was above 0.0120  Shocked and 6 new pages on this thread.
How do i feel this morning? I'm very fine  Cool
I'm unable to buy back but no matter, it's a nice profit (and it's important to take profit when it's possible) and the  remaining 98% of my stash is healty as never.

The sun is shinning!

Thank you for giving a nice entry point to new bagholders.
My coins may never be for sale (might be buying gold directly when the price rises).
My portfolio is in well position. If bitcoin goes to 10 000 + usd I have enough of btc, if Monero goes to 1000+ usd, I have also Moneros. If both btc and xmr fails to grow, I still have my rental units + 2 jobs I am satisfied with and quite nice monthly surplus income.
Selling Moneros just causes more taxes to pay so better just hold and sell in a stingy manner if ever.

I might actually just buy some odd XMR for the sake of support (not to grow my stash).

I think the current level of 0.012-0.013 is excellent accumulation zone still. There is plenty of room to grow, only 6 million coins will be mined before minimum block reward will hit (when the minimum block reward hits Monero has a decent chance to become worth of 100 000 - 1000 000 millions of dollars). So selling now is like giving free money to the new upper class.  Cheesy

We need to appreciate everybody who decide to sell now before the DNM will start sucking Moneros from markets. Thank you, sellers!

What happened to waiting until the price drops to the .004s? Grin Grin

That was one very valid and probable scenario, considering XMR price history since the beginning.

Now, the likelihood of going back to 0.004 is not large anymore.

If someone has sold speculatively, or wants to enter, it might be better to buy than wait for an uncertain meagre drop in price.

The people who bought BTC at $7 did very well.

Congratulations to everybody! Smiley

That triangle was just too obvious. Was tempting to sell before this move up but triangle said otherwise.
Going to be really interesting now to see if she can stay above .01.

Oh, looking back at those .001 days... wish I had loaded up (and held)...

Do people really believe this is going back to 0.004 with all the new shit. So many articles popping up in big media channels.

This feels so similar to early BTC. Anyone that was around then feel the same?

I bought monero @0.001 long time ago, but i sold it 0.0012 with tiny profit, I was so impatient, if i could hold it, now i have over 10X profit. What a shame.

Oh, looking back at those .001 days... wish I had loaded up (and held)...

Price does not matter. The number of XMR matters Smiley

I wrote a few pages ago that there is only ~100 seats available in the 10,000 XMR club, and ~1,000 seats in the 1,000 XMR club. This is world wide. Of course it's much more exclusive to have 10k instead of 1k, but both are very good compared to having none. Seling out completely is the thing people lament with Bitcoin.

Do people really believe this is going back to 0.004 with all the new shit. So many articles popping up in big media channels.

I saw the rise from the opening of Gox to $32, and everything ever since. Things can escalate quickly: if the market decided there is no need for confirmation at 0.004, there is also no reason to stop at any one value when going higher.

I think breaking the market cap of Dark coin will be a remarkable event. I hope it happens for ever and stays like that. That is the exact moment when we can finally proclaim the victory and become the best anon. coin.

The market cap has nothing to do with the level of privacy. If financial privacy (and fungibility) matter to you, you don't use a transparent blockchain.

The market cap of Dash can be relevant from a trading perspective because of the long history between Monero and Dash/Darkcoin and the emotions involved on both sides. Emotions can play a very significant part in trading regardless of the objectivity of those emotions.

Now that is a matter of days.

Ha ha. I was so wrong.

Thank you for your reply.
Later, realised it was bitsquare I was referring to and I've also checked out shapeshift.

But coincut looks like it could be the way to go...the link you posted comes up with a database error but I'm assuming they've just added XMR...hope so

Thanks again Smiley

It escalated quickly and I think this is just the beginning since there is still the demand from D.N.M. coming in the pipeline. Therefore it is pretty safe to buy Moneros.
