dw im long on monero too but so farm im averaging down daily

just wondered about the optimism in here

Te optimism is from being here so long and watching this project progress, there is no alt community of devs that even comes close to the professionalism (as a whole Tongue FP), capabilities nor integrity of this team. Period

Just read this if you want to see the veiws of this team and how they protect the community even when we don't know they are doing it!

Man, that was interesting. Thanks for sharing. I'm so glad Smooth is on the team. And I love seeing the discussion.

Personally I think XMR > ETH in 1 year, XMR > BTC in 5 years.  That's my primary time-scale.

I can see XMR going past ETH in a year, but I'm not really too sure about XMR > BTC in 5 years. Remember back in the spring when ETH had the monster pump and it seemed like The Flippening was going to happen? Never did.

BTC for all of its flaws still has the network effect. And as we see in companies like Google, Facebook, and Twitter, having a network effect on your side means that you can dominate the landscape even if your product is subpar.

Let's set more realistic target. I hope the XMR can surpass Dash in a year.

... and 1 XMR should be worth about 30k USD2012

I assume that's last two digits reversed and your crystal ball is saying we can reach this Nirvana by the year 2021...?  Or otherwise what's the projected timescale approximately?

If indeed 2021...? Then, damn son... that's gonna be quick!

Guess I'd better start shopping around for my Private Caribbean Island now, since it'll probably require at least a couple years searching to really find the best one!  Grin

I mean constant-value USD as of 2012.  It may be 300k USD2021 by the time a long-term equilibrium is reached.  I don't speculate on the future value of USD, just XMR

That's cryptocurrency dirty talk, right there. I sometimes think that aminorex is the Henry Miller of Monero.

Monero is now the preferred method of payment for illegal items on the deepweb and most silk road equivalents, I think that this will have a direct effect on the price and how much it will be worth in the future. I mean the whole selling point of this coin is anonymity and it worked to the tune of $90 per XMR, not to mention that it's 1:1 CPU to GPU, making it one of the only CPU mineable coins, it'll bounce above $150, as long as bad press is kept on the down low.

Zcash FUD against Monero will ramp up over the next several weeks. I'm targeting somewhere between .014-.016 as a bottom.

<sigh> Roll Eyes How many times have we seen this script played out before?

1. Massive amounts of good-news incoming for Monero development (and everyone knows it)
2. ZCash/Dash/whatever-the-fuck-other pretender to the throne freaks out
3. Sudden appearance of articles in controlled media plugging the other and dissing Monero
4. Accompanied by tweets, blog posts, etc by "credible figures" supporting the above
5. Temporary drop or just "stagnation" in Monero value

...but then, finally...

6. The good-news from #1 above ends up actually being true
7. Development plays out as planned in XMR: Monero improves, yet again, as expected
8. Monero price spikes up in yet another "mini mooning" and (unlike all other P&D's) STICKS THERE permanently

9. Rinse and Repeat  Grin

I'm right there with you, Smooth is a asset that is not replaceable in this community and I would not be as supportive of this project if that was not the case.

He's predicting $275 by the end of the month.  Who cares about the weekly BTC ratio?

Pfft only $275, I'm sure he could be more outlandish like people in this thread, like predicting 0.07 by end of September!... oh? September's ended already huh..  Wink

No disrespect to the man but if you are gonna follow Tone Vays for trading advice you may as well throw darts at a board. Monero is a tough coin to trade but has rewarded long term holders no reason to expect that will not continue. I think it will take a few more days for the Snowden effect to dissipate. We may see price under 0.02 doubt it would decline past 0.016.
