Monero is alright but can someone explain me what chance it stands against Zcash? I think Zcash has already proved that they use by far the most superior cryptography. And if you don't believe me, you don't have to. Just ask yourself why JP Morgan is implementing their solution and not Monero's solution in their blockchain ledger, or why Ethereum is implementing the Zcash technology and not the Monero technology? I have nothing against Monero but it looks to me like everything is against that coin, what are the chances of success when developers come up with real innovations. That is already a good proof that is reflected in the price of the currency, Zcash is far more valuable than Monero, so the market has spoken regarding that topic. Monero has to implement some real alternative to even come close to compete with Zcash. I wish the team best of lack, we need competition in the space because it pushes us to improve our service and products, I hope it does the same for Monero.

You are totally mistaken to believe that Zcash is "far more valuable" than Monero. As of now Monero has more than double the market cap - comparing unit prices is meaningless...

The problem with zcash is that the total coin supply can't be audited... Who knows what can happen. For example pivx started to use the zerocoin protocol 2 weeks ago to replace masternode mixing.

Then when I compare the fees between monero and pivx to make an untraceable tx, I just  Grin

You mean they charge you for tainting a normal pivx tx?

yes and no, charge is that the fees is spend on the blockchain and become void, reducing the total coin supply. it actually cost 0.01 pivx per dominations (5000zpiv or 1zpiv cost the same).

tainting, what do you mean? that they become like xmr, zcash and co untraceable? Why does it taint them? it's just like buying something with notes and getting your change back.

 Huh

The coins aren't "tainted" they become untraceable and fungible.

Fungibility works when all coins are untraceable, if you have coins that are traceable and ones that aren't, they a different and can be identified as such. All the coins need to be untraceable.

If you get how the zerocoin protocol works you will see how easy it is to have privacy. It's possible to keep all your coins untraceable on pivx, by keeping them on the zpiv form, however you can't stake this way.

And once they come from the zpiv accumlator, what can you say about the origin or destination of those pivx? nothing.

Wink.

When the people of the world will get that covid was intentionally released to frame china, steal the election from trump, assure massive bail outs and foster the forced vaccination agendas...they will forget, like 911, wmds in irak, uss liberty or pedogate.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

I feel like the goal of trying to cast the widest net for suckers users has many treating privacy as a feature, rather than a function. Until their goal is fungibility and creating the largest anonymity set, they will continue to stare at Monero's design in dumb awe. They neither understand that Monero's user base demands best in class privacy or how to attain best in class privacy--to them marketing and better-than-Bitcoin's-privacy are enough.

Er what? Cryptocurrencies are either traceable or untraceable, there’s no in between.

So is he saying that Zcash is traceable or it can be made traceable?

I went check this for a reddit post when someone complained how bad Monero preformed in last 2 months. It is logical it did since bithumb listing was exactly 2 months ago. SO i took last 3 months and top20 coins that exist at least 3 months and got this.

OMG 1.22 7.22    +492%
NEO 7.3 28.2      +286%
BCC 62 224        +261%
LISK 1.83 4.74   +159%
BTC 2695 6045   +124%
XMR 41 89         +117%
XLM 0.016 0.03    +88%
QTUM 5.63 10.31 +83%
DASH 178 274     +54%
ETH 202 306        +51%
IOTA 0.26 0.39     +50%
LTC 40 57            +43%
ZEC 184 238        +29%
BHC 355 455       +28%
NEM 0.16 0.2      +25%
WAVES 2.8 3.47  +24%
XRP 0.17 0.2       +18%
STRAT 4.92 4.21  -14%
ETC 14 11            -21%
EOS 1.78 0.66      -63%

You see Monero is closest to Bitcoin. And in top 30%.   Luckily for us we did not hold EOS.

Just for fun I heard NASDAQ index is doing well lately 6348 6699 +5.5%. Better then 3 red coins it is. Tongue

Good job Febo! Well done!
It seems to be easy, I wonder that idea of this comparision didn't come to my mind  ;>

But maybe your conclusions should be that we have to sell XMR as overpriced asset ;>

Speaking not quite serious.. I had a dream few nights ago that Monero  price had risen significantly above $ 100..
It's so strange because XMR have no first place in my altfolio that it was monero in my dream indeed..
Could we expect such a rise in near future in real world?

I am looking for signature campaign Wink pm me

Hmm i remember it was always around rank.5- Does anyone who monitor coingecko rankings more closely tells what was the main reasons Monero went ahead of Ripple and Litecoin.

Interesting statistic.

I don't think it's overpriced. If you compare Monero to other cryptos you can see it's definitely not overpriced.

This must be a sign from god. I will buy tons of Monero. (1-2 because I don't really have a lot of money Smiley )

Monero seems a lot more active in terms of development. Look at new commits in last 4 weeks.

And it's very close from 3rd-5th place in total.

I think litecoin's git has a lot of tumbleweeds atm, whereas monero's looks like a gold rush. Haven't really paid attention to ripple.

Not sure why they even use facebook as a metric for monero, a privacy coin shouldn't have a strong facebook presence.

What's paragon coin? They have a ton of likes. Also, vertcoin's stats don't match their rank, though that could be because of an unlisted metric.

Plus... reddit subscribers is somewhat illusionary if the coin was once popular and now isn't so much (Dogecoin for example). Number of users online is a far better metric.

Also IRC stats and other real-time social metrics give a crucial sense of social industry. (Of which Monero is number 2).

Yes that Vertcoin stats are strange. Everyone knew that Dogecoin have lots of followers and big community.

Paragon was some recent ICO with an rapper and a model as main faces. It gained lots of publicity I guess that is why so many Facebook followers.

Dogecoin had a huge community a couple of years ago. But with the price fall and some scams too many got disappointed and have left that boat.
The community is not that big anymore, just check on reddit: 81k followers, some 400 active members. Monero has more actives Smiley

Paragon coin is a shitty ico erc20 coin that advertises incessantly on Facebook and Twitter, which makes it obvious why they have a strong presence there. If you actually look at the comments they get many of them are like "fuck off scammers", but they probably still count as a net positive on gecko rankings since I don't they have any ai to determine positive and negative responses.

That's a ratio of 0.5 % lol. Anyway price of monero is quite stable the last month (between 85$-95$), hopefully price can get up again and reach new ATH.
