Has bitcointalk been affected by the kraken virus? Because it's abysmally slow today.

Used xmr.to and was very pleased with it. Until kraken gets its act together (if ever) this is the way forward for me. Thanks to all.

I knew Kraken was laggy and all but never had issues with my transactions. Usually when I cashed fiat out it took maximum of 2 days to get my money (I think even next day mostly). Wonder why the differences?

The problem lies not so much in the transfer, rather than them being able to link my bank account. Apparently the software they use to upload and verify ID's isn't working. Believe it or not.

I was just about to exchange some krypto to 30.000€. But could not log in. How fast Euro transfers to Europe have usually been on Kraken?

When I was logged in to Kraken a few days ago, I was wondering at withdrawal page a text something like this "name of a bank account has to be equivalent of the name of your bank account".

I did not understand what that meant? Do you or anybody else? Could that some how relate to your bank account linking problem?

It means you can't have a bank account with a name different to the name you have registered on kraken.

As for whether that's my problem - I don't know. I don't think so, but I have heard nothing from support. I've never transferred on sold anything before on kraken so I have no experience as to fast their European transfers are, I'm afraid.

More that I don't see it as impossible.
I have little success predicting what Korea will do, but a ~50% pump over a week seems unremarkable, given the volatility in BTC and XMR lately.  Besides, Johnny Mnemonic said so.

I'm never wrong.

Jokes aside, it would certainly be "out of character" if XMR's price didn't hit $425 mid month, so I'm still expecting that to happen. 5X is the law.

"I fought the law and the law won!"

5x would make my life now, and it doesn't seem so mad in the scale of things. Reached gameshow prize a while ago. doesn't seem real I guess.

Hi guys newbie here. I've been reading a lot and really like Monero. I have very little money in BTC at the moment (like 400 USD) so I'm wondering if it would be better to keep it in BTC or get a whole XMR. I'm going to hold like, for a long time anyways. But I feel BTC is waay to high and XMR still has a long road to catch up. Would you recommend this?

Absolutely. Make a paper wallet and load it and forget it somewhere for a while. I wouldn't say it may take a year, nothing is definite here - look at ETH pushing 1k for example... Regardless, the upside far outweighs the downside. This coin is only going to get better over time. Grin

is there any write up about tx fees in monero and the mentality towards fees by the monero team? thanks

i mean is this statement representative for the dev team:

"Note that to support "microtransactions", Bitcoin and Monero are likely to support systems like the "Lightning network" in order to radically reduce the cost of small payments in the future. "

This explains how it all works, if that would help.

thank you, i'll try my way through it. Smiley no dev here. So L2 and L3 is mandatory to scale globally. do i understand this right?

just say it happens and monero becomes global currency No1. it will scale with lightning maintaining those tx anonymous with tumblebit. theoreticaly all tx can happen outside of mainchain anonymously. doesn't that make moneros on chain anonymity obsolete at that point in time and by so every other coin that uses tumblebit hubs for most tx just as anonymous.

And when will this L2 L3 solution be available?

I don't buy it. As much as I dislike the idea, I still think Bcash will be added first.

I don't expect them to add it due to the legal problems it would create for them.

But it would be a pleasant surprise for sure.

Crypto is far from being Nr.1 global currency.  Monero have 2% of bitcoin transactions.  Monero have way biggest problems then thinking now of being Nr.1 global currency.  Considering last 3 years, Monero will need like 3-5 years to catch Bitcoins current number of transactions. Bulletproofs should help us to get there with not to huge blockchain. But also other innovations will be needed till then and I am sure we will get them.  Thinking to much of something that might or not might happen in 10+ years is a bit waste of time.

Are you kidding me??
Monero is over $300, Eth is at $680, Ripple at $0.67, Dash almost at $900, OMG almost $11, the alts are killing it!

No, I have a feeling it's just the altcoin market taking a toll (and Monero too since it's part of the altcoin market).

Don't get me wrong, it's doing great. I think Vince was just referring to the fact that it has turned red in the last 24 hours (which is perfectly normal) and was worried it signaled the beginning of a dump (which I honestly don't think will be the case).

I'm starting a technology blog T4CH.top, check it out!
