How odd is that: This clearly follows the fluctuations of BITCOIN. What is the correlation? Both are supposed to be unique! How can it be?

Likely because we still have no widely known mobile wallet ( monerujo could need some marketing ), no HW and people likely just hold their Moneroj on exchanges

An HW will come - it's a matter of time only, it's simply that Monero is more sophisticated than other Bitcoin 'clones' and therefore not as simple to copy/paste code into a standard HW. Monero is superior tech, they need to catch up, not us.

Txs difference could also be about pool-payouts... afaik monero crams together as many as it can and so you got 1tx in the explorer to "x" miners .... no clue how thats done in BCH but id guess a tx each ?

Transactions in BCH are a little boosted by subterfuge (see M. Ver's Bitcoin.com) and by forcing people to buy mining gear with it. With Monero, awareness is real, interest is genuine. Real money is not stupid. Monero is tech people are starting to realise they WILL need in future, but maybe don't think they need just now. They will wake up. Fees? See bulletpoofs. And it's already faster and way lower than BTC in any case. Monero has been a solid top 10 CC for a long time now, it is respected and admired. Use cases will drive adoption - we only need to wait and hold. DNM revival will work in tandem with new tech announcements to creep slowly towards market ubiquity. Plus Monero leaps occasionally, then stays steady - it looks 'safe'. Sometimes this is dull, in other times this will be golden. 'Build it, they will come'. It works. Monero will prove it.

This is something that bears watching, IMO: http ://redditmetrics.com/r/Monero Out of 1.2 million /r/, Monero is: No. 104 Fastest growing yesterday No. 117 Fastest growing last 7 days No. 201 Fastest growing last 30 days No. 427 Fastest growing last 90 days Over 1000 new subscribers per day, and accelerating. Sure, all of crypto is expanding, but to me this indicates that Monero is receiving its share of attention, and more. Ranked near top 0.1% (for # subscribers on that site) and exploding upward. This is visibility, adoption, exposure, whatever you want to call it. Here it comes. 'Build it, they will come'. It works. Monero will prove it.

Good point, it isn't because of retail use (although Bitpay is a coup for them that may change that). Mining payouts due to ROI (price / difficulty) manipulation is likely a factor in tx numbers. They waste enough money on spamming BTC, why not boost txs via mining payments to make that 8-lane highway look busier? Ver might be an utter prick (and a liability) for BCH, but Wu is NOT stupid. He knows how to play a decent strategic game and by being centralised, he can pivot his ecosystem in a flash in a way that Core cannot.

Cool stats, they match my sense of what is happening. I see a dip against BTC and then (unlike in the past) there are immediately bargain hunters, hoovering up any signs of cheap Monero. You have to realise you just can't buy cheap Monero any more, unless you're very quick off the mark. I am having to adjust my trading stance accordingly... EDIT: BTW, Explorer - I guess you have also spotted how the odd mention of Monero in the WO thread is allowed to pass through the velvet rope. Far more of the smarter people are keeping Monero quietly in their portfolio, it seems

I will now shut up for the night. A wonderful Malbec is my poor excuse for being more than usually effusive on my best ever investment.
Be careful out there - and sleep soundly with your Monero.

I made an oblique comment not too long ago, didn't mention Monero at all, and got chewed well for my pains - all because of my avatar I think lots of them have me on ignore for the very same reason. The fear is palpable. The most vocal over there are your typical loudmouths. Head firmly in sand or ass, refuse to see what is going on. And that's OK. Everybody pays to play, one way or another. Looks like Moneros hairy balls are finally gaining more attention than Amandas shiny tits. And we can boost this up even more. Monero community is wealthy enough to fund an produce, lets say a two minute commercial on youtube. Two minutes is enough to handle scalability, security, untreacibility, fungibility, and the most essential, the privacy by defaul vs. optional privacy. Lets run this on youtube as commercial and boom.

...Crypto always surprises me with the scale of its momentum, and of its volatility....
You can put this on my headstone. I've been a coinbase customer for four and a half years. Coinbase is under the thumb of financial authorities. Recently Coinbase acquiesced to an IRS subpoena for customer records. Coinbase could have appealed, but they gave in. Coinbase is such a big, fat target that they are probably afraid to add a coin like Monero. All the bulldogs and retrograde anti-crypto buttheads like Feinstein and company would be on Coinbase like flies on shit. Coinbase isn't going to add Monero any time soon.
I disagree. I understand the sentiment, but in reality AML/KYC compliant exchanges are the governments BEST vector for tracking a true privacy instrument like Monero. At least then the government can prove the purchase or sale of XMR. The FEDs should be begging Coinbase to list Monero. Secondly the view key gives Coinbase the ability to allow for full auditing of their wallets. This. Bitpay going over to Bcash news is concerning for the CC market's flagship coin.
It does highlight the fees / transaction issue starkly. I am still pro-core, but they need to get their shit together now. Segwit was agreed, but it isn't being adopted and isn't even anywhere near a transaction default. Or a default in wallets.
Exchanges are under huge strain, a lot of new weak hands are in, we are one clusterfuck scandal (tether / major exchange issue / legislation FUD / whatever) away from potential dark times the MSM will leap on.
BTC getting Segwit out properly would help. A lot. Sorry to be dark, chaps - Monero is going well, but we ride the waves, we don't control them.
You have that right, I was a fool that thought segwit2X would be a given. Doh

Bitcoin is for sure losing its dominantions on darkmarkets. Reason for that beside that is not anonymous is also that have at some points huge fees. I monitor only their reddits and see there is way more talk about Monero then was before. ZCash is rarely if ever mention. There is more talk about Ethereum or BCash then ZCash.

Don't use unknown third party wallets for Monero. You may lose all your funds there if they're scammer. Get a ledger nano s and they have monero wallet inside. Physical wallet is very safe if you have too much monero.
