Looks like about 1MM+ USD worth of XMR bought at market.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Is there a list of which specific ledger wallets will support this? I'd hate to get one and find out later it didn't. Smiley

As I understand it the Nano S and the Blue will both support it.  This has been talked about on reddit /r/monero some.  If you want I'll try to hunt up a link.

I'm like 72% sure that any nano s apps can also run in ledger blue.

Overall, Monero got lots of positive press and videos and everything now with changing mining algorithm.  More people that got in crypto in 2017 will now look at Monero. I bet all metrics of Monero went up ( google searches, reddit subs, ...) Such things are not seen on price immediately but gradually over time.

Yea. Confirmed. Big boost. https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=monero

NICE, good call Febo and thx for the link I always forget about that. I find it interesting when broken down by region as well. China is way up there, I like that. Smiley

BTW this makes me smile. Cheesy

https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=bitcoin%20cash

There is a term they say in football which I always think to myself about crypto. Form is temporary, class is permanent. And if you look at those Google charts all the while, you still see Monero moving up even after the big announcements in 2016. Bitcoin Cash? They throw money around, pump up and hype up at events. Give it all over the place to corporate suits. And still they get a big "Meh" from people.

Thanks for the post Febo!

Yup, I had to look that one up!

http://languagecaster.com/weekly-football-phrase-form-is-temporary-class-is-permanent/

But this cannot be applied to software as class is not permanent with an ever evolving design. Tongue

But I get your point. Wink

But evolving design is classy. His point stands.     Grin Cool Tongue

I briefly saw a headline the other day saying there were now 4 versions of Monero after the fork, can someone explain wtf happened?

Are any of these forks viable, have wallets, and devs, and miners, on exchanges etc

Latest scheduled Monero hard fork changed POW algorithm to break hidden ASICs, ASIC companies and people who paid $12000 for a now useless ASIC forked the chain (4 times).

Only 1 appears to be traded on an exchange.

To be clear there was only one chain fork. There are several different projects all claiming to be the 'official' project representing the old chain.

Haha, true that - I could have made it clearer ... current Monero dev team is very open and transparent about decisions and development; I'm sticking with the Monero (v7) chain

They are not new by any means. They are just...leftovers or something similar. MoneroV is something new, but what did they change? Just moved the decimal and added V to the name.

I have noticed a type of selling that has happened several times in the last couple weeks. It's a very distinctive pattern. It doesn't look like the sell off that we just had moments ago because of bitcoins drop which is what we're used to seeing in times crypto is contracting.  That sort of thing can be seen at the very end of the last frame. It has a different sort of sloping volume curve and I can't say that I've seen it with this sort of frequency in the past. I can't help but wonder if this might be one of the large ASIC minors selling there warchest.

Here are a few examples easily found in the last 2 weeks.

All of these examples happened between 1700 and 2100 UTC (afternoon in the us).

The selling is very orderly and seems to happen over more than an hour with subsequent buying that causes a bit of a rebound for the next hour.

Anyone else see this?

MoneroV missed the train.
Actually today I was thinking about it and maybe it was never thought to be an actual coin, but just a pump for Monero. They succeed at that time, they made som hype.
