Also guys you should have a look at coins that actively support Monero development: Masari.

It's a Monero fork, good relashionship with Monero, only 18.5 millions total coin supply and it's still early, only 3000 sats on SouthXchange and Tradeogre.
If you count that Masari uses a weighted harmonic mean difficulty adjustment algorithm for smoother difficulty adjustment, which has been PR'd back to Monero you already have a kick-ass coin. It also has only ever used RingCT, has a fixed ring size of 13, and we plan on adding uncle mining and researching block tree sharding.

Cheers !

good relashionship with Monero,

Cringe level BS. I know there are people stupid enough to buy this line, but I really doubt they are on this thread--maybe know the community before going full-shill.

Here we go:

Masari dev writed this post when Monero forked: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/8a7ubh/only_20_of_the_blocks_coming_into_the_fork_are/

FluffyPony talked about MSR in his podcast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TATpQ7KogBc&feature=youtu.be&t=6074

and also tweeted about MSR before that: https://twitter.com/fluffypony/status/971103127947669505

I don't know which one of us does not really know the comunity, i am a Monero Hodler for a long time  Wink

My bad. Given the timing, I thought it was just another money grab project--if they are actually contributing to research and not just taking advantage of the ASIC resistance feud, then it may not be as bad as I thought. Though I'm still suspicious of the timing. TBH, I don't follow the Monero reddit as I once had, so this is my main news aggregate. Also, you are still coming on strong in the shill department (saying you are a long time hodler with noob account is equivalent to the car salesmen's "trust me!"--it comes accross as desperate, same goes for listing exchanges and the current price in satoshis).

Overstatement?

WHM dev + details : https://github.com/zawy12/difficulty-algorithms/issues/3
Monero project discussion : https://github.com/monero-project/research-lab/issues/3

WHM was adopted by MSR, they didn't invent it. Reading source comments MSR devs did contribute some.

In Official XMR github Fluffypony says he prefers EMA.

Clones will be clones - good for testing stuff though.

I know theres a controversy surrounding the MoneroV fork (i.e. the fork isn't supported by the main Monero team), that is coming in 12 days. But it free coins, so why not. Buying in soon to take a ride on the pre-fork (buy the rumor, sell the news) style pump.. and eject before the predicted dump.

Also tax season in Australia is approaching. Wondering if there will be a pump in Monero again due to that.

I think the main issue with MoneroV is that it’s a blockchain hardfork - good for free coins, bad for security ... you’d be risking a lot by spending coins on this chain.

Edit: probably good for XMR price though...

Yeah I agree. But probably not an issue for those who collects their tokens after having first transferred their tokens to a different wallet + if they are not concerned with exposing their transactions details.

Probably best to move coins on Monero chain first before attempting to spend MoneroV. Looks like MoneroV is going to be tradeable at HitBTC ... not exactly an exchange that is on the trusted list ... https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/wiki/avoid

NO, GET this STRAIGHT... the chain copy is not supported by ANT Monero supporters period. It is an attack on the integrity of the transaction data so by participating you are weakening the strength of the Monero Fungability and therefore hurting the project. Think of it as chipping at the Armor of the chain, anything can be killed by a thousand cuts, in this case it would probably be a trillion cuts but I think the analogy fits.

HitBtc is connected with the Bytecoin scammers. and all you have to do is type hitbtc and scam in google and you will see pages of those theifs at work.

THIS is a discussion for the main thread so I will crosspost and you can reply there. Link below

My thoughts exactly as soon as I read that post. It was shilling period whether they had contributed to or not. the proper way to mention there coin would have been in our main thread without any price speculation. Trying to induce FOMO is not just saying hi.

One thought I did have is that level of covert privacy revealing can become quite extensive when one considers that chains may exist that exist entirely on a lan.

Consider the vast majority of systems running backdoored Intel hardware, non airgapped cpu's and of course non Foss os's that could just be another brick in the dragnet.

Consider that someone may already have your private keys, but never want a single dollar from you in regards to stealing your moneros.

I think this was always advertised as not tla-secure though, but definitely Enterprise level anonymity..

Just speculation..

There is an interesting article "Amazon Granted Patent For Streaming Data Marketplace With Bitcoin Use Case" at https://cointelegraph.com/news/amazon-granted-patent-for-streaming-data-marketplace-with-bitcoin-use-case :

Quote
“For example, a group of electronic or internet retailers who accept Bitcoin transactions may have a shipping address that may correlate with the Bitcoin address. The electronic retailers may combine the shipping address with the Bitcoin transaction data to create correlated data and republish the combined data as a combined data stream.”

So, non private coins such as BTC will be less and less private as they become more adopted. I wonder what the effect will be on privacy coins. Monero can either become a refuge of privacy or dismissed because it is accepted nowhere as form or payment. What do you think?

I believe in this coin. A few months ago I invested a large amount of money in Monero and I am ready to wait several years to get the maximum profit. This is an excellent project.

The poloniex charts show that the xmr price run-up of April 18 ran from about 4 to 6:30.
Bitcoin started going up just exactly when xmr stopped rising, at about 6:30.
I find this intriguing.  XMR is leading bitcoin now?
Bitcoin's step function was only about 2 or 3%, whereas monero stepped up about 12%.  So there's that.  But monero's much more volatile.

Correlation is not causation. If that were the case, I could also say coins like RDD (also seems to be green when Monero is lately) is pulling up Bitcoin even more. I'm a Monero holder here (not even thinking to claim any of those 5 fork coins either by the way) and I'm quite happy to see it pulling away from being dictated by Bitcoin in terms of price, but not to the point where it's dictating Bitcoin!

Damn This is insanely fast, I guess the suppression is off. How high will it go before the Dump hits? It would be great to get and stay above .03so the coinage I bought there is not in the red anymore. Cheesy

Can we make .039 this weekend? That would kick some A$$.

You know...  I have been assuming this could be, like the last runup, related to the fork.  But I do not think that is the situation this time.  In fact our runup seems a little milder than the general alt landscape.

Interesting times to say the least.

Wonder what a crypto bull market looks like the *first* time everyone is aware of crypto.

Still not sure we are there yet...  but it's safe to say we are at least seeing a forming nice bulltrap.

On the other hand it makes me sad to see so many absolute shitcoins rallying yet again...  it's the curse that won't go away.
