As a block chain noob can you explain why block halving will increase the price? The last time someone said that I bought and it dropped 1000k satoshi. |

As a block chain noob can you explain why block halving will increase the price? The last time someone said that I bought and it dropped 1000k satoshi. Presuming you understand blocks and how they work with btc and alts. the block rewards that miners get for mining the coin will be halfing. so this means that there is less coin rewards for the miners. which then impacts the price becuase not as many coins are being sold to pay the miners electricity bills. when you bought before the last halfing we have had multi pools and a bot supressing the price. thats why it dropped from 3k to 1k. i can assure you that the current price is not far off the bottom price. withbthe halfing and new reward structure coming the price can only go up really. but again take this info and make your own decission. the price will flucuate up and down thats just how it is. |

It's more for limiting the exploitation of hashing by some hyper mining done by speculants, rather than for price increase. Check up 1st place on richlist (Oh I see you already noticed the speculant :-) ) |

I think the devs are planning the reward structure wisely so that mining will continue for a while. there have been suggestions about pos/pow hybrid. I know there is alot of work going into this it isnt being rushed |
