So, if I invest in SuperNET in NXTAE, will that make me an investor, or shall I have to invest in ICO conducted by the BTER, to qualify myself as an investor..

BTW thanks James, bcoz of u, my 1st mining experience was awesome. (Mined for BTCD from the beginning)

Marginally. NXT AE is more secure. Pros and cons.
I'll be buying with btc on BTER, nxt on AE.

How would buying from the AE be more secure? We are just exchanging funds for tokens on BTER which would be swapped for assets on the AE later....

When you buy on a centralized exchange, you have to trust both the exchange operator and James.
When you buy on NXT AE, you only need to trust James.
That's the main reason for why decentralized exchanges have come into existence. They provide a trustless purchase mechanism. You only need to trust the asset issuer, and there is no intermediary between buyer and seller.

...
Many will demand that I document all this ahead of time, but that is not how my mind works. I am at heart a simple C programmer. So, I only am seeing the next thing to do that improves things. Then that makes me see another improvement, etc.

So this is organic improvement or something like that. It is not for everybody, so please make sure you are accepting of my method. Many call me crazy, doing too many things, but I cannot help that I have more than one idea per week

i you had the strength to HODL, then you have earned the 100x BTCD has gotten since I arrived there!
What people dont realize is that crypto trading is very difficult, even for me. But crypto investing (HODL) is quite simple. Think of who is having more money. The people that are trading BTC since 2012 or people HODL all this time? Or from 2009!
Few traders would have been able to survive the volatility of BTC and not get wiped out. short of a professional trader with years of trade discipline. It is like those crazy bulls you see in the some bars. I forget the name of this device, but nobody is able to hang on for the long time. Active trading is like that, so easy to get over confident when times are good and make careless trades, so easy to get depressed with a big loss and selling too soon, so easy to be stubborn and not sell soon enough.

so, the easy solution is finding good unique tech with at least decent marketing and buy at a decent price and HODL. I tried to teach this to BTCD thread and I am glad you were learning!

Only TOKEN will be available at first. Regardless of where you get it, you will get a matching amount of SuperNET asset
so if you have NXT already, NXT AE is probably a good way, but if not then bter will get you a better price

James, just to confirm once TOKEN is exchanged into UNITY and after a month or three (depending on a time scale yet of your choosing), will dividends be paid per share into account holders on Bter?

Sites like    https://cryptostocks.com  and  https://www.havelockinvestments.com  both have trading platforms and dividends are paid on certain days depending on what stocks you hold. The time of day is not important, whoever is holding shares on that day gets the dividends (mostly BTC) paid into their accounts.

Do you know if Bter can do this and will they? And if not will they be able to in time for first dividend payment?

Thanks in advance.

PS: I now you have touched on this, but you have not confirmed all this yet.

first difficult query to jl777 (or FUD if you may) - How is it that what you are doing is not akin to a Ponzi? The way I see it, you have too many of the "this invests in another asset" kind of assets. You have sharkfund0 which invests in your own assets, now you have jl777hodl which again is made of assets you issue and now Supernet.

So basically you open an asset, then open another asset which invests in the last one and then another which invests in the last one + 1, thereby building a chain. This along with a rather longish development cycle - till Dec for coding if I am not wrong + 6 mths to settle - 10 mths -- a really life long time, yep, nothing can go wrong here. Given the normal BCT crowd who greedily latch onto IPOs without regard for due diligence, this is a perfect fodder.

I wish you luck and hope you raise 10k BTC. So that once this goes belly up, people on this forum had learned their lesson.

I think I will put 15btc, yes I will
unless you are fully understanding of SuperNET, I suggest to limit to 1 BTC
SuperNET has a lot of parts and I tend to keep improving things, while still maintaining the backward compatibility to the prior constraints.
For example the integration of NXTventure into the SuperNET Core
Once that was done, it didnt take me long to come up with formalized Privatebet casino asset plan

Many will demand that I document all this ahead of time, but that is not how my mind works. I am at heart a simple C programmer. So, I only am seeing the next thing to do that improves things. Then that makes me see another improvement, etc.

James
Yes, I think I will accept, but I will invest 5btc it!
not sure what percentage of your portfolio that is, but make sure not so much that you have to watch the price all the time. If you are finding that you have to watch the price because it is so much money, then it is too much. You wont be able to sleep well and this will make it nearly impossible to make rational unemotional decisions. Once you become emotional, you might as well send all your trading acct to charity as it will soon be gone.

This is some good advices and I hope everyone to follow it. Do not be greedy to make as much money as fast as possible. If you are thinking like this, then the first time something is not perfect you are already thinking of selling and if you are not sleeping from the worry, then how is it possible for long term HODL. Unless you have a professional trading background, then HODL is really the only way for making money in crypto. Now, it is never too late to learn. http://www.nobrainertrades.com/ is a great site to learn about trading and you will see the amount of effort that is needed. If you want to become an active trader crypto is a very good place as it will like riding that crazy bull and very good practice, plus usually the trading fees are just a percentage regardless of order size. In the real world, there is usually some fixed fee plus commission. Even $1 is big percentage of a small bankroll. So with crypto you can practice with 0.1 BTC until you are making solid profits and no emotions. Then you can keep growing this and gradually adding more capital to it

Part of what I want to do is help people to make good tradings. I hope I am of some help

bter will be able to pass through any and all dividends. I will delay dividends until they are ready, but it wont take them long.

not sure if you saw my post about "on demand dividends"
next year I want to switch to that method so each asset holder  can decide when they want to receive their dividends. To get this to work via intermediary will be a bit tougher, but I just thought of a way it can be done, so we can delay this feature until it is working natively within NXT and also via bter

Considering your net worth of 4000 BTC in crypto, all I can say, I certainly wont be able to afford those "food and latte" too Tongue .

That said, couple of queries/suggestions:
1. BITGO has a paid service for "enterprise" level wallets. I have not tried it so I am not sure what kind of extra layered security is in place for that. If you are considering them for multi sig addresses.

2. Now most of the people already know you/your work with NXT. I first heard about you when I was reading up on the BTSX in wallet exchange where they have put in markets pegged (to use their lingo) to BTSX. Someone mentioned about Supernet and how it will have a market effectively trading every crypto joins to any other crypto. So the query is: how different/similar is this idea to the BTSX exchange market?

3. As I said, I am not overly familiar with your work but I do see the long list of project you are into. Thats one huge list man Smiley
Many of them have been open source basis, I presume? So I was wondering if you could list out the projects which you are currently working on/are in the pipeline? The reason is I really want to know how busy you really are? We normally have the best of intentions when taking on a project but things fall apart some times because of an issue encountered with another projects. I also think it will help in disclaimering your already fully disclaimered pdf Smiley You can probably add "expect a bit of delay"/"don't bitch if the initial date is pushed" to your list.
The btsx holographic peg experiment is proceeding so far as I have expected. I am worried that my full prediction will come to pass, so I am not spending efforts on understanding the details. I have been too busy for such extra research. Please do not ask about my opinions on this, you can search forums and find my postings

I posted a few posts back the layered structure of my projects. they are all one big project with most of them being applications written on top of the SuperNET layer. the source codes are here for a recent version: github.com/jl777/libjl777 I have not put all the things into libjl777 yet, I guess only about half of the 40,000 lines are in there for now, but this is just lack of time for housekeeping. The SuperNET launch is delaying me by about a week, I estimate a full month of debugging to get all except the Privatebet into a beta release. Maybe I am only able to work halftime on the debugging, so with only 50 hours a week, then it could be taking two months. So I think the timeframes of yearend for all but Privatebet and 6 months for things to get up to speed is reasonable.

I ask for forgiveness if I am not meeting this schedule with exact precision, I am finding that there is much time spent recently on the 100+ PM's I am getting every day. I do not know how much longer I can continue to answer every PM. If it is OK for me to ignore the PM's of low content, then that will increase the time I have for coding.

so please do not send me a PM until you are reading this thread, thesupernet.org and asked on the thread. Everybody can help this poor monkey from menial work if you are making the right answers on the thread. Then if you can refrain to ask me in PM, you can ask me on the thread.

SuperNET should be the best idea for everything, the best answer for every question, the best mind for each post. I thank you for your assistance.

James
I understand you have quite a lot of projects under your belt. I just wanted to understand how things stack up. I will try to dig up your structured project post.
In any case, just for the fact that you are making an effort to answer every post, I will invest whatever meagre btc I have. Smiley

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keiretsu

The assets represent ownership. proxy assets like JLH are to perform a single-throw multiple pull function, eg. buy one asset get two dozen. It is a convenience thing and like a sector fund, so you dont have to research all the assets to know which to buy. It wont get the best ROI compared to a single asset, but it also wont get the worst. It will get the capitalization weighed average

I am estimating year end to be done with debugging of all except Privatebet. most of the coding for the rest is done. I can only point to MGW for a project I have completed in the crypto space.

Since you are comparing SuperNET to ponzi, it is clear you dont understand it is asset backed. So when you actually understand something about SuperNET, then I would be happy to answer any specific questions you have.

James, a tough question, but what is the contingency plan if Bter goes belly up after the sale? It's a serious project you're undertaking, and you need to provide insurances of sorts to investors. You said you were looking for escrow for funds that investors channel to Bter, is there any progress in there yet? One can never be too paranoid about centralized exchanges. Obviously, buyers at NXT AE can feel more secure in this force majeure situation? Or not?

Given the normal BCT crowd who greedily latch onto IPOs without regard for due diligence, this is a perfect fodder.

I wish you luck and hope you raise 10k BTC. So that once this goes belly up, people on this forum had learned their lesson.

Don't jump on a thread and insult everyone by calling them greedy or accuse them of not having due diligence. And then to top it off hope for everyone's down fall.

Charming.
