OK, I must be missing something obvious.

Umisoo price has gone from 0.00006990 to 0.0001, why would it be going up, and why is ANYONE buying it  Huh

It,s obviously a speculation on rising BTC and falling maint. fee.

Bitcoin price is heading back up, it doesn't take a lot of capital to buy a lot of shares, so even small players can move thin markets pretty easily.  Plus what better bet than trying to earn big on a .1 btc investment betting that the price will go up another 15 dollars or so.

It was at 32000 sat. two weeks ago then it dropped to what 6-7000 and now at 10000 or so. So you can say for the moment that it,s going back up however long that lasts.

As for bitcoin, much of your bear market rallies in other markets is shorts covering momentarily and this probably applies to  this long bitcoin bear market as well.

They probably shut down miners for 10 hours, now it's back online again.
UMISOO prices are affordable right now. Buy now, you can easily sell tomorrow for %20-30 profit.

Well, I was going on today in the trollbox about how great that rumor about the s3 for umisoo sounded. Pallets of miners for peanuts and bitcoin back at 300 down the road. Cute speculation. But I,m not interested. If others can profit from it good for them.

antS2 UMISOO will enter into the “hardware redemption period”

HashNest • BITMAIN_Rob • Posted 2015-08-26 05:57:28 •Read 4  times

Since August 18th, 2015, revenues from UMISOO and ANTS2 PPS contacts have been lower than the power cost required by these machines. In accordance with the original contract terms, after ten days of such conditions, the contracts will terminate. We currently expect that these contracts will terminate on August 28th, 2015. From August 28th, these machines will be eligible for a 15 day redemption period. During this period, UMISOO and ANTS2 contracts will not be tradeable on the Gigahash Exchange. Each 1000 GH/s of UMISOO and ANTS2 can be redeemed for one unit of Antminer S2 physical hardware. The handling and packaging fee for each unit is set at USD $50 per machine, and the cost to ship each machine to Shenzhen is USD $65. Shipping costs from Shenzhen to final destination will be calculated by shipping company rates.

Specific details of the redemption process will be published shortly. If a user fails to submit a hardware redemption request and complete payment of the handling and shipping fees within the allotted timeframe, that user will be unable to redeem the hardware at a later date.

Due to the age and wear of these machines, Hashnest cannot guarantee the quality or condition of the physical hardware to be shipped, including that the hashrate will meet the originally published specifications. After machine redemption, Hashnest does not assume responsibility for machine warranties, technical support or repairs, damage incurred during shipping, or other risks.

With Antpool luck being so terrible, even S5 is not profitable for the last two days. I really do not know what is going on but 10.5 hours block is simply NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Yeah owning hash in Hashnest recently has been pretty dismal.  When the S5 is even struggling to make a profit after maintenance fees it does seem like some things may be wrong, but it also shows Bitmain isn't trying to offer anything "too good to be true".  They are still offering the best mining investment options with the hardware (S7 to come), Hashnest market, and PACMiC contracts.  As far as pointing miners to the pool thought I moved mine back to CKPool, and Slush about two week ago because of the variance issues.

I've calculated that the antminer S5 (under their fees for maintainance) should earn you $1 per day (not very profitable). This means that at the current price, it will take you 440 days to even get your money back!

Well with that being said it doesn't even seem plausible to buy the UMISOO so cheap on the market to redeem for physical hardware because of how much it would cost to get your hands on them.  Unless of course you are in Shenzen, and can arrange a physical pick up.  Then you have to be able to run the miners at a profit at whatever location you have, or try and make sales on ebay, or the likes.  Could work for some, but for most the redemption period will just go by, and expire.
