Fixed the huge invalid/stale issue.  One of the updates about 15 minutes ago involved uncommenting some code I had been testing on the EU server.  Included in this was a piece of the difficulty 2 share code I had been working on, so diff 1 shares were being rejected for not matching difficulty=2 for a few minutes.

Thanks for the update and the fix eleuthria. That's why I love this pool. Whatever the problem, It gets taken care
of quickly and then eleuthria comes here and tells you exactly what happened and what was done to fix it. I'm
sorry, but you just can't beat good communication. Thanks again for running and maintaining such a great pool.

Has anybody tried Diablominer with BTCGuild from behind a proxy firewall?

I can get diablominer to work with Eligius, but would rather use BTCGuild. Here's my command line that works just fine on Eligius:
There's an update to pushpool I have to roll into the server that should fix the proxy issue.  I'm waiting to find out when I can move to a dedicated host to make the switch.
Bump.

Diablominer with a proxy works with both BTCMine and Eligius.  I would rather use BTCGuild but it still doesn't work. When will this be fixed?

Yes I see the same 'last share' over 1 hour.  Its a spooky feeling but I seem to beleive that the 'actual' calculations etc. are running correctly behind the scenes so to speak, the web page view is the only broken thing hopefully

There is a large strip of bolded blue text at the top of every page on the website which specifically addresses the fact that 'Last Share' (and by extension, idle miner emails) are not properly working due to the split servers.  It won't be fixed until later this afternoon when I can get home and launch the EU server.

does the really long rounds for the past 12 hours or so have anything to do with the server switch?  im not making anything on btcguild compared to the past week, even with the random connection issues that we had over the past  few days that seem to be solved since the upgrade.

I would like to stick around but not really sure what is going on or if its a string of bad luck...  the pool has about 250+Gh more than the average for the past week or so and i would think that blocks would be found 1/3 faster than before.

I'm new to the pool, so I don't want to scurry off right just yet without giving it a proper chance, but I'm not getting nearly the same rewards it seems as I was getting with my previous pool.

Just a bad run of luck on long rounds.  The payouts on ALL reward based pools fluctuate.  There was a stretch not too long ago where 13 straight round times were well under an hour.  Now we are at an average of 2hrs for the last 10 blocks.

If you want a more consistent, but lower overall payout, then go to a PPS pool.

For me BTC Guild is still the best choice.  Lowest stale % by far, nice interface, pay me now button, ability to get paid on unconfirmed, and complete openness.

Another 2Million Shares Block... Someone must have bewitched our pool. I want that guy stand his man and confess. ^^

Hoping for better luck tomorrow. It is frustrating to see my new 1GHash Rig running since this morning, and getting less rewards than without it yesterday.

If you like my advise, i would be thankful getting a small donation at:

Hopefully we'll get a run of quickies soon....I hope. These long stints are killing us  Wink

I just came here to post similar...

I've been with BTCGuild for over a week and loved it, till the connection problems a few days ago, when I went to DeepBit until they got worked out.

Now that they're worked out and he has dual-servers going, I switched back this morning, and it's been a number of hours with my 0.8 GH/s and the rewards haven't really gone up at all.... is something up?  Have I wasted a day of mining ?

Legacy signature from 2011:
All rates with Phoenix 1.50 / PhatK

closing in on a 5 hour 3 million + share round.

this seems rather strange since it happened just after the 2 server upgrade.

but yes you have basically wasted half a day of mining.

went from 4-500gh last week to 7-800gh today and the times it takes to find a block have quadrupled.  this really does not make any sense

I am at about 2500 shares (20 stale) and an estimated payout of .041

At current hashrate it's 95% certainty a block should have been found within 2.5hrs.  But the time to hit 100% certainty is infinity.  It's possible, however highly unlikely, that a pool as large as BTCGuild could go 1 day without a block found.  Welcome to the world of probabilities.

I'm sticking it out.  The minute I switch there will be 10 2 minute blocks in a row.

Bitcoins.lc also has bad luck, also way past the 95% probability. No luck today, but I am sure we'll find a vein sooner or later.  Wink

It's not wasting a day of mining you geniuses. If its wasting a day of mining then solo mining is an even bigger waste. So if I went and solo mined right now and managed to hit a block, what a waste that would be.

Google the word "variance" you incredibly smart people

Just because we got a bad block does not in anyway guarantee the next one will be good.  Or that even the average will be good.  We can predict what will happen in the future, but what happened in the past does not affect it.  At all.

So yes, we did waste a day of mining.

its a waste when there are other pools that have had no such bad luck like btcguild has in the past 24 hours.. look a the last 15 blocks, they have gone WAY up since the server switch.

im not bailing out just wondering if they are somehow connected.
