but overall the payout is higher with the lower pool hashrate.

That is one of the dumbest things I've read in a while, the biggest (only) factor in solving blocks is hash rate.  More hash = more blocks = more btc in your wallet.

Otherwise you may want to tell these megapools, like Antpool, that they're killing their income with all that hash power.

That is one of the dumbest things I've read in a while for many reasons, primarily the biggest factor in solving blocks is hash rate.  More hash = more blocks = more btc in your wallet.

I'm just looking at the payouts over the last 30 days. Compare the average daily payout when the hashrate was lower to when it was higher. The payout per TH averaged higher with the lower pool hashrate.

I agree it sounds stupid, but that is what the numbers are showing. Basically we just been a very lucky pool.

If we keep the hashrate higher for a longer time frame I am sure the payout average will come back up and surpass what it was at the lower hashrate. But when we get higher hashrate for short periods of time it does not help the overall average.

The more hash = more blocks only applies because it increases your odds of finding the correct hash. It still comes down to luck.

If you go to ckpoolmonitor.zachmonroe.com/index2.php you can see the daily all the way back to January 10th.

You're only looking at 30 days and then putting a spin on it.  More hash = more blocks, always.  Play with the numbers all you like and read into them what you may, but if you're rooting for less hash power you're on the wrong team.

The one best reason for mining on PPLNS pools is its archille's for those that stay firm when the going gets tough, but generally, the less hash (for the duration of after the 500% nth of the hopper), the better and more earnings for those who stay, with the correct minimum amount of luck (which we are assured levels out in the medium to long term anyway!).
So I concur with the jomba who says earnings increase ...... my 2 natoshis!

Yes if we get blocks fast enough then the higher hashrate helps, but overall the payout is higher with the lower pool hashrate. Really it all comes back to Luck.

Yes it comes back to LUCK.  But in the long haul the higher hash rate with more payouts, at a lower amount per payout, will win out over lower hash rate with fewer but larger payouts.  You can't count on good luck runs, even though they are very nice when they happen.
Higher hash rate + lower payouts vs lower hash rate + higher payouts

They will average out the same.

Statistics says so - you don't have to believe me Tongue

However, when the hash rate dropped last time, the pool luck increased at the same time.
Of course they are not cause and effect, it was luck, but it was good to see that happen.

Edit: and I will add Tongue Bitclub has the worst luck on the pool of anyone ...
Within expected values, and he has found 3 blocks, but none-the less it is true he has had very bad luck on the pool.
I wasn't expecting him to return, and I doubt he will return again.

If it was from the pool's payout address, I'm thinking it was your mining payout?

If not, then:

An anonymous gift?
SPAM dust (did it come with a message)?

About 1TH/s mined (on and off) to that address starting not long before block 364297
That was the 364297 reward.
You will continue to get rewarded for those shares in any blocks found in the 500% after them.
If you continue mining (as you have) you will of course increase the amount you'll average each day (until you reach the 500% limit)
You can't see the detailed stats since you are address mining.

Edit: OK I got all the info wrong Tongue Corrected it.

... and in case you were curious:
Code:
Block	Miner Reward  N Diff     N Range      Pool N Avg  Your %  Your N Diff  Your N Avg  Your BTC
364405  25.02455872   248.410G   85hr 3m 14s  3.48PHs     0.01%   21.726M     304.75GHs   0.00218862
364297  25.26842858   247.488G   85hr 13m 47s 3.46PHs     0.00%    8.009M     112.11GHs   0.00081769

So you'll get 0.00218862 in the payout that's coming up shortly.

Looks like Bitclub moved to Eligius. They gained about 2ph about the same time we lost it. That pool was at 10ph on June 30th and over 18 today. Why are so many going to a fixed PPS pool that is capped? And based on Kano's comments also is slow on moving to the current block. Just seams odd

I was enjoying the faster blocks... but at almost half the payout for my little hash rate, so I'm good either way (faster blocks, or bigger payouts) Sticking with Kano, very reliable.

I've wondered the same thing.  I think some folk get blinded by the 0% fee, people do anything when "free" is involved.

Like "free scoop day" at the ice cream store and people stand in line like an hour for a free ice cream cone.  You could work a minimum wage job for that hour and buy 2 quarts of ice cream, these people don't take into account the value of their own time.

ckpoolmonitor.zachmonroe.com can now notify you is your hashrate drops below a set threshold and you also have the option of a secondary email address for notifications.

If anyone has any suggestions or feature requests, please let me know.

I recently noticed the hours/minutes message is a little funky.

As this post title says, hash rate going back up again.
It's canaan from before.
Their luck stats are good over the pool history with their 26 blocks so far since the pool started Smiley

I sent the payout a while ago (2hrs ago)
Payout 364405 sent
509644eb18432d9ecaec32166e29bee4cce443345244bf26e8234a10abf047d1

But still unconfirmed.
It's in our stratum work so if no other pool confirms it, we will with the next block we find.
Confirmed ... by the 32% Diff block we just found Smiley

Found by cryptobros with 10THs - well done.
