Lot of ppl says Long term wit different calculation but no one showing comparison of past payment of CK pool vs PPS say (F2POOL)
Like this? Bear in mind that PPS pools there is a fixed margin which with 4.5% fee is 95.5% profitability.

Longer term:

Sigh - ok, out with the simple facts - that most pools seems to hide, so some people don't even understand it:

Any pool will have an expected reward ... after fees.

--

For PPLNS: from 100% you must adjust down for: 'luck' (orphans and lost blocks) down for 'fees' (pool fees) and up for 'txn rewards' (txn rewards IF they are paid to miners)

PPLNS here is: 100% * 99.1% (pool fee) * 100.8% (avg txn fees for last 11 weeks) * 99.49% (orphans - it's probably better than this)
Orphans is 2 of 392 blocks i.e. 99.49%
So that comes out as: 99.38% - our expected average reward.

That's what you can expect to average here long term.

We've done better - wow ain't that good - will we always do better for every single block? No of course not.

Hey look at the last 25.8 days ... 25 blocks .... and that includes the last 5 days of lousy luck ... 107.48% luck
Nice. But no guarantees about where luck will go tomorrow or the day after.

Hey look at the last 11 weeks ... 50 blocks ... 89.82% ... ouch yep that includes Red October where we had a run of (only) 12 blocks of about 50% Luck Sad

Hey look at the last 19.8 weeks ... 100 blocks ... 101.63% nice.

I see a pattern here ......... there is no pattern.
It's random. This is called variance. This is expected with PPLNS.
If you can't handle the higher long term expected payout, you want your payout today to always be the same but lower, then mine somewhere with PPS

--

For PPS: 100% - fee. That's it, no more calculations.

--

Now for the "I lost out, when will I get it back?" question.

There is no expectation for luck to correct itself. Ever.

Pool luck is always expected to head towards the expected value ... 100% - orphans

It may balance out and fix a bad period, it may balance out and reduce a good period.
But there is actually no statistical expectation for luck to do that.
Expecting that is called Gambler's Fallacy - google it Smiley

If you mine here long term, you can 'expect' to get close to the expected value, since long term variance is expected to be low.

If you mine here short term, then luck/variance will be the major factor in how much you are rewarded.

Yay, finally got my reply from bitmain on my bad miner and have permission to finally open it up to troubleshoot it.  And they also said try pointing to another pool...pfft, my other one, batch 3 is mining here just fine with no issues.  Figures that the newest miner that uses more power, and provides less hash has problems.  So my weekend will be troubleshooting my miner to hopefully get it back up to full speed here.

Noticed an unexpected transfer to my wallet.
Thank you to whoever sent me the BTC!
Much appreciated.  Grin

Nice... btw, off-topic... how did you get "ZACH" on your BTC address? Luck? Buy?
Noticed that Kano has "Kano" in his signature BTC address too!
While I know its purely random this BTC numbers -- how you stumble on to yours?

i would suggest not using the online one, but the link flikflak posted is the source code..
you do have to patch it for newer amd cards.. nasty has a txt at about page 100 or so that has the patch..

it takes about 2-3 days to get a nice 6 letter vanity address.

Depends on video card, I have a Nvidia Geforce 660 Ti (a couple years old).
I ran it for 1 hour and found 4 addresses matching this prefix 1ZZZZZ
So average of 1 every 15 minutes.

I feel like i've seen this posted before to this thread.  It never hurts to toss it out there every 100 pages or so as you get new miners.

This should be a disclaimer on the registration page with a "Check Here to Acknowledge and Accept" requirement to register on the pool.

The Nvidia GeForce 660Ti gives me 28.5 mil keys per sec.

If I do the same 1ZZZZZ but case insensitive I get roughly 1 address every minute.

Sounds like this Diff is going to be a lucky one for us! Nothing like tackling a new higher diff with the first block of that diff. I've always thought that the first block of a UTC day by a pool signals a good day for that pool. I know it's all BS but why not....
