Just had a question I was just poking around looking at my graphs for shift work checking on my miners, and I notice today at 00:47:54 I lost about 1 ths figured I lost connections for a second but then I notice on the pool hash rate the same dip at the same time were the pool lost like 2 PHS. Is that something with the connection to the pool or maybe reboot? Just wondering if my drop in hash rate and the pools was due to the same issue.
Sometimes its a connection or reboot issue. Sometimes the graph can look skewed if more than one block is found by the network seconds apart. Those kinds of dips show what it can really take to get everyone here mining on the same page after getting shot with a blank Short network blocks do affect the shift graphs, but usually only by a sizeable amount around the time we also find blocks. The nodes do drop off and back on again straight away sometimes, so in those cases there'll be a 5 minute failover and fail back for miners connected to the node. These show pretty clearly on the Pool Graph - but the graph itself is a little misleading - the width of the gaps doesn't correctly represent the amount it has gone down (or up) since the points are the average middle point of each shift. If you have your second pool set to a different kano.is node, then you should see little if no effect on your hash rate unless both nodes do it at the same time - which is of course pretty rare. The failover of 5 minutes (which is what cgminer is hard coded to do - yeah it's too long for ckpool ... ... ...) means about a 10% drop for that shift for any miners that don't have another kano.is node as backup, so that explains the drop level also. In the long run it's not really a lot, and it's just caused by design flaws in ckpool. That's something that I've already done changes that make it resolvable, that I'll finish off after I've done the accounting code. ... and on the subject of the accounting code Soon after I get back I'll update KanoDB to add all the new account types and settings that I completed before I left, but hadn't done enough testing on it before I left, so I wasn't wanting to push a bunch of change live as I got on a plane This has to do with the cloud changes I've mentioned before that I'm working on. The problem has come up with the cloud design that I need the accounting code in place anyway. So since the accounting code was next on the todo list, and I need it to finish the current todo item, cloud mining, that means account is what I'll be working on as soon as I test the current changes and get them live, once I'm back.

for 3 blocks i got only 0.003 after 3 days with 26 th that s not good
That just means that you haven't mined long enough to get your 5Nd average up. If you stick around for longer you will get at least around 0.004 per block with your 26th but then of course the block size and the size of the pool will affect your reward. If you would have been mining for like 3 more days prior to the 3 you're talking about you would have had around 0.0045-0.0047 reward per block, that's around $20 per block which is excellent for your 26th! Mine on!

Affiliate program for the pool as in someone joins the pool using your ID as a reference or something of that sort? And you get something in return? Not that I'm aware of.

Maybe when a user signs up for the pool and enters all of their information, they have to read a payout explanation and must scroll to the bottom of the explanation and fill a check box affirming and agreeing they understand the payout system? Is that a stupid idea or over-kill? I just hate to lose miners from the pool because they don't understand why they are making "less" per block than they were making at XXX pool when they first start and just go back to the "other" pool. Even if they are small miners, every little bit helps us to our goal of cracking blocks. Well, that's my early-afternoon-dumb-idea for the day. Mine On!

You don't have to register at the pool, so don't see the point of having a check box But a more visual explanation of the ramp-up time could maybe turn on the lights for some more easily?

Not a dumb idea...but, after decades in user support, I have some doubts as to whether it would really solve the problem.

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

You don't have to register, but as it says on the 2nd line of the main home page, "The pool doesn't require registration for basic use but includes indepth stats for registered miners." So, it makes sense to register to me. Some people might be wary of registering because "big brother" is watching... Whatever... Anyway, I was just throwing a thought out there.

Yea, I know what you mean. I have been in the IT field for decades and usually it's just easier to do something myself than trying to explain something to someone who has the attention span of a... what was I saying? "Hamster" is the word you're looking for

Hello Lengendary and Hero users. Newbie here. There is no need to explain hardly anything in my opinion. There are 1418 pages of information for anyone who really wants to learn. To lazy to read and experiment maybe you shouldn't be mining. Just my thoughts no one has to agree.

To lazy to read and experiment maybe you shouldn't be mining. Just my thoughts no one has to agree. +1 Might not *have* to agree but but damnit... There is this wonderful thing called "search" that way too many folks seem to have never heard of and/or are too lazy to use... As the Newb posted: The information folks need IS here. Just search and sift through it. Who knows, in the process you might even come across answers to other questions you will have...
