There was a back end pool restart at 12:56 UTC
Everyone will have failed over to their 3rd pool.
The script restarted it immediately, so everyone should be failing back within the next 5 minutes.
Sorry about that unexpected restart.

Hi,

Is it possible to send out an alarm when something like this happens?

Right now i got an Email from nicehash that some of my workers were disconnected. So assuming they re-connected to Kano again, but not all did, so my hasrate dropped again. Thats a bit of a bummer, as i want to measure profit compare for mining at kano.

Thanks.
Dont bother with nice hash, they are manipulating the system.  They charging 5% fee even though the reason they upped it from 4 was due to high network fees, but now they are lower.

I only have it set up as a third pool for me so that it keeps that address active to keep the funds they stole from me in December active and the address doesnt get killed.  BUT if they ever do pay out that money they owe me, I will literally never use them again.  they are scum.   They do things like Pay out your address, becuase you were over the threshold, then the next day give you back 10 % of the money they stole, and that amount is not over the threshold, forcing you to mine longer to get that from them.  LOW LOW LOW.

I know Canadians don't worry much about this, but I'm worried the cops are gonna think I got an indoor grow operation going on.  They raided one not far from me a couple years back.  What am I gonna tell swat when they bust in?

Show them the miners, and lack of growing lights.  Better yet, have a window they can peer into.

I use to have a similar concern when I raised live coral.  Coral eat light.  I had 5800 watts of metal halide lighting over my aquarium.  The profile was identical to growing pot.

I made sure the basement windows were uncovered so they could look in, and frequently invited neighbors over to see the aquarium.  e.g.  If the feds expended ANY effort prior to breaking in, they could figure out what was going on.  If they didn't, I'd sue them for incompetence.

Mined for a living since 2017.  Dabbled for years before that.

Pool hashrate is looking good. I better step up my mine to keep my piece of the pie up. It’s about cut in half from what it use to be per block. I’m waiting to see if miners will keep dropping in price. That and my power bill is approaching levels that would require me to cash in some coin each month to help pay for it. That’s no good.

Too bad you didnt have my luck. My electrical company has only billed 2900 kwh since dec 8th.  I have been at about 7500 kwh per month. one month was at 8400.  They didnt bill me becuase the power company said it was high, so they estimated, sent someone to my door to investigate, i told her off, nosey Biatch!  The power company confirmed with me the readings were accurate, then they sent them to the retailer, then the retailer didnt want to bill it becuase there is no way that I could of used  17000 kwh in 28 days according to their readings.  So now they are going to go back and "pro rate" my usage.  Ironically the  cost per kwh has gone up slowly, where do you think the most of the usage will end up according to their calculation...  gee I wonder..

So yes, Dec 8. til April 8, 4 months all I have been billed is 2900 kwh, when it should total to about 25 000 kwh.   1750 cnd Bux!  Thats going to be a nice bill when I get it.  I'll ask for time to pay. :-)

Ya thats really going to suck when they catch on to what’s happening. Enjoy it while it lasts! My bill is actual every month with ComEd smart meters. I thought for sure I would get a letter from them about my power consumption going way up.

I know Canadians don't worry much about this, but I'm worried the cops are gonna think I got an indoor grow operation going on.  They raided one not far from me a couple years back.  What am I gonna tell swat when they bust in?

Just a side note for anyone with the bad hash board...... or thought to be one..

I vacuumed today, vacuum power head came near the power cords of two miners in my office.  AND those two had  one at 0.00 Gh/s and the other at 8.5 Th/s.   Seems as if this issue with static electricity screws them up.  This also happens when I stepped on the cords with my socks that had static.

I know, sounds dumb, but it literally happens every time.

Static electricity is an equipment killer. It's the reason why compressed air in a can probably still exists. It's also highly recommended
to "ground" yourself while handling electronic devices and equipment, such as miners. New Egg and Amazon have "grounds" for a few dollars.

Note: Do Not rub any balloons on your head before preventative maintenance on your miners!!! Ha!!!

i dont understand your comment.... i dont have rented power, pls read.
Niether did I. I was doing the same thing you are doing. Renting my hash. When not rented it was mining here. Kano banned the ip anyway, as it increases the latency of the hash by adding another site that shares must go through before reaching the pool stratum servers.

KDB restarting (again) - restart was at 04:39 UTC

As pointed out the other day, no mining is affected by a KDB restart at all.

The web site will show lotsa zeros and '?'s until the restart completes.
Sorry about that, had to do a second reload due to a resource timeout just after the first reload completed.
I have a process that forces all the payout and related data into RAM to ensure the web site is OK when long term miners request that data - unfortunately it caused a timeout just as the reload finished and lead to a 2nd restart.
I've disabled that until KDB has restarted again and the system has settled down to normal running.
Finally KDB/Web up and running again.
Had a few problems getting it back online - again resource issues.

All OK again - as said before, it had no effect on mining and, by the KDB design, there's never any missing shares or data.

I'm considering doing a main back end server update in the near future (with a reboot) which will mean about a 15 minute (or less) outage.
I'll give everyone at least 2 days notice (and on the web site also) before I do that though.
