kano,

What a great service. Thank you.

Would it be possible to have the payouts set to every other block or even less frequent for an individual account? I'm thinking I would like to contribute in keeping the network free of unpaid transactions when I don't require frequent payments. It would also result in higher payments by allowing paid transactions... what am I missing?

Kano is working on new accounting code that’s will let you set weekly or monthly payments.

That sounds amazing. Thank you.

Coupons needed are $300 and up and I would need x2 in order to release the miner. Also willing to pay a small fee for coupons instead if nobody wants to keep this type of "exchange program" going.

Are s7's still profitable or mainly obsolete. I know it depends on electricity. I pay .085 kWh. Is this a fully functioning s7 or one with 2 dashboards?

As a business model, no.

Have 2 left. Currently hashing at Kano with rate in pic.

Sent u a message I'll take them if that deal works for you.
Just got up here after responding to flooding...oy...but wanted to say I've got 3 S7s at the Ice Planet, and they still make money. I'm working on replacing them with 841s, but mainly because I have to replace an existing machine with a better one to increase hash, as they're still out of amps. Not too sure if a higher hosting cost would still be viable, though.

Yeah how is the flooding there?  I'll be on the island on Saturday in Princeville.  Power and water cut off to Hanalei and beyond apparently.

I had two related questions, but first let me set the stage:

Got 4 new 841s, and at the same time sold my old 741 to a friend.  Everything been great for both of us for a few weeks, but for a reason(s) neither of us understand, the settings in the controller I sold to him reverted late last week to my old settings.  So you guessed it - I got credited with his machine's work since the old settings obviously had my worker info until he fixed it this morning:

Question #1:  Any easy way to split out the work?   This is more theoretical than practical - I'm just going to buy him lunch to pay him back but I was curious if there was an easy way to do this if the parties have a agreement on hash rate share (ie I am 4.5 machines he is .5).

Question #2:  While computing on my worker, his machine caused my average "Shares" count to double; yet the "Average Share" value fell by half.   Clearly I don't understand these values like I thought.  I would expect all values to change by a percentage value commensurate with the the incremental hash rate.  Could someone explain how those are calculated?

Thanks!

Pay him in crypto what's he's owed. Seems only fair.  Other than that, lunch for awhile?  lol

Or help him ramp up faster with your hash then switch back.

Reimbursement in BTC probably makes the most sense though.

Well...frankly, if you don't really have to come...don't. Hanalei is just now accessible, but that may not last as there is more front coming in. Severe flooding and landslides in Wainiha particularly, and elsewhere eastward to Kapahi. Princeville itself was cut off for some time, but likely will be "cleared" today. Rubicon has a recon team working; we're doing a Core Ops training on Saturday, and will send in strike teams to Wainiha on Sunday. No "black tags" (fatalities) as yet, though. Mahalo for asking. If you come, do have fun.  Kiss

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

Thanks!

I've been managing a "co-op" operation (very small...total of ~45TH) for three years. Each partner gets a share of the block reward based on their relative spec'd hash, cf. there are 7 machines total with 46.5TH, six of them are mine with a total of 35.5TH, and one for a partner (an 821) at 11TH. Divide the block reward by the total shares, then multiply by one's own number of shares. Transmit the rewards to the partner when they get to a threshold of .01BTC (simply for efficiently). Send the partner a spreadsheet weekly with all the tx details from my Core. Not complicated at all, transparent (the partner has access to the board, and the pool stats), and inexpensive to manage. My first mining partner passed away last year; he helped me get started in pool mining.

There's a distinct advantage for both of us; the 5Nd makes it easier for the co-op to "absorb" minor machine burps and bumps without significant overall hash loss. The transparency here is a distinct advantage.

Best of luck.

Looks like front heading in on Thursday for a bit, then clearing out on Saturday-next week.   We will be enjoying the island, good luck with the cleanup effort, that's one thing I've noticed that gets done fairly quickly on the islands.  Gotta make it accessible for emergency services.

... and the most important point ...
When the pool hash rate goes up we expect to average more blocks per time period.
So you expect to average the same reward.
e.g. if the pool hash rate doubled, you'd find you'd be getting half the reward per block as before, but the pool would be expecting to get twice as many blocks ... same overall expected result.

Pretty sad watching my hash rate fall this low while old miners leave and awaiting the arrival of my new S9's. The anticipation is killing me.

I will be back up and stronger than ever though. Waiting on 4 and will be placing an order for another 2 very soon (I'm just trying to play the market when it's ahead).

Thanks to all for the wheelin' and dealin' on the coupons to make it possible. Just placed x2 S7's & PSU in shipping for userghost to keep them on Kano. I love it.

ja. Last week our companies new Xfinity biz internet service went down from sun 11:45p until my partner showed up at 6:am Monday and had to cycle the power to the cable modems to bring it back up. That of course took my main farm @210TH offline...

Today thanks to the lovely ice storm we had Sunday morning there are still tree limbs coming down... You guessed it. Lost internet at my house for 6 hours dropping 78THs. At my GF's house where 2x 741's reside the 'net has been out for the past 20hrs....

Damn that really spoils the look of my shift graph...
