Update on T1's from Halong.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3376606.msg35397314#msg35397314

Kano, when I get these, do you still need someone to help you to see if you can start accepting them, or has somebody helped you from batch 1 already?
Well I've still not heard about mine yet ... but it's not testing on the live pool, it's wasting mining on a test pool.
I'm not gonna switch in code changes for this guff before proper testing.

How long on a test pool, if its just a few days I don't mind. If you need it for a month that's another story.
Heh - no it's not days even Smiley
But it's also a case of if I am actually getting one, I'd prefer to test it myself - we'll see what happens.

I think I had read somewhere (telegram maybe?) a post stating that they were trying to ship out units to people that paid first, instead of demo units for reviews. It was more fair for paying people to get first according to them.

Personally I see it both ways. I want reviews, but I want my units also.

Moving all my units from CT (18.5c/kWh) to Idaho collocation (7c/kWh) and a low hosting fee.

My buddy is starting a collocation service. He has had 25 machines there since December, and his current location is stifled to 300 units due to HVAC.

Another building in the complex is where he'll grow into.

I'm getting an attractive rate on the hosting as he's basically proving his business model with my machines. There's also been talk of partnership Cheesy

I'm a 100% work from home dude, so I could move to Idaho tomorrow! Would be really neat to keep my lucrative day job and be a machine tech in a legit mining facility.

Still trying to get his machines off slush and over here.

So yeah, I'll be down until May 15. I'm driving the units out there starting wed night and hoping to be back Monday night. Gonna be tight! I'm a photographer so I've always wanted to travel across the country.

Wish me luck folks! Hate to lose my 5Nd but it's for the greater good.

Cheers!
Good luck with the transport - but yeah almost 1/3 of the cost running them should make anyone want to move their miners Smiley

Thanks man Smiley I'm actually a hoster myself, bringing my hosted machines to a hosting location. Even that makes my head spin.

I'm waiting for the S11 before i put any skin in the game. All the machines are owned by friends, and i skim 20% off the net.

I had the machines on the second floor of my father's kitchen cabinet business' showroom. Ducted each machine into attic space.

Come summer we were going to have to punch a hole in the side of the building to clear heat. This is a no-brainer.

Do you guys give miners a break or a rest period or just run them flat out until they die ?  I ask because i'm experiencing a bit of a t/h issue with my miner. Temps all good at all times between 79' and 85'.

fan speeds in and out around 4900

all chips on all cards working

but the t/h average has dropped from near 11 to 9.8 ish.

i'm running a whatsminer m3 in a soundproofed box with 5" insulated ducting , heat side direct to outside.

Over the last two weeks ive rebooted several times and it appears to bring it up then slowly back down again.

Any ideas would be greatfully received.

Thanks

Check your ethernet cable. I've found the M3's to be very sensitive with internet connection, and the hashrate will drop like that. Also, if you can, check your psu to make sure its running correctly. If it's not pushing the watts high enough, that may affect the hashrate. This will require a "clampmeter" to check how many amps it's pulling, without disconnecting the miner. Take a look through the Pangolinminer thread below. Goodluck!!!

Thanks Shazam Smiley

Please encourage him to PM me and I'll provide my personal e-mail.  My data center can hold 200 units (power limit) so I suspect we have a few things in common.  Of course, I too will encourage him to come to Kano since I came from Slushpool myself.  <Just for clarity, I am not renting out space>

Nice thought, but it doesn't work that way.

No it's not from them.
It's not for a review either Tongue

I'm seeing a lot of network problem on the west coast of the US - affecting nodes and even my own monitoring connection to other servers and a few nodes.

It's caused failovers on US (08:38 UTC) and NL (08:40 UTC)

Hopefully it's setted down again now, since it doesn't seem to be the actual nodes networks but rather further upstream.

Edit: and again at 09:03 UTC for NL

On more of a philosophical note:

Wouldn't it prove true that having more hashpower and getting more blocks will result in more long blocks due to the sheer number of blocks we get? Don't confuse "more" with a disproportionate amount.

In other words, if your hashpower is low enough, you may only encounter one 500% block per year.
