On more of a philosophical note:

Wouldn't it prove true that having more hashpower and getting more blocks will result in more long blocks due to the sheer number of blocks we get? Don't confuse "more" with a disproportionate amount.

In other words, if your hashpower is low enough, you may only encounter one 500% block per year.

And if your hashrate was low enough it could take you a year to power through a 500% block...

We are expected to see a 500% block every 148.4 blocks, no matter how big or small we are.  The higher hashrate helps us get through it less time (6 days right now) so we can get on with block parties instead of 20 days and crossing diff changes like when we were much smaller.

In order to get the maximum amount of activity points possible, you just need to post once per day on average. Skipping days is OK as long as you maintain the average.

Well put. I like the 148.4 versus so many per year. That kinda takes hashpower out of the equation.

Awesome. My calculations say I can get up to nine machines before I need to switch to another box so I have a ways to go.

There was a KDB restart just after processing that block - it lead to a large amount of lock contention and didn't recover fast enough to avoid the restart.
No mining is affected and the block is not affected at all either.
It'll all show up correctly when the KDB reload completes.
