Shouldn't 100% luck be going up, not down, since the block was < 100%?

Pool hash rate grows, luck decreases. I think that's what's going on there

tx fees quadrupled at block 519860...looks like all of em are fatter now.  Anybody got a theory?

MINING ON ON KANO!
Nice!  Lurking for answer to why this block was fatter (or if this was just a luck thing)

There was a definite jump in tx fees @ 519860 for the whole network and they are still higher than they have been in weeks.  GDAX showed a spike in volume around the same time.  I know, might be a little off topic, but it affects us as miners and how we fit into the "big picture".

The more the hash rate grows the closer it should be to 100% I would think since the law of averages, and less variance.

Sure, but if we don't solve more blocks to accommodate the increased hash rate (see the March luck section) then a sub 100% difficulty block could decrease the pool's total luck?

The question mark is because the math doesnt seem exactly right to me. One would think any block sub 100% difficulty couldn't possibly have a negative effect on total luck, but something about block difficulty increases over time tells me thats where the missing logic is.

Maybe there's a math wiz in the forums that can answer that one for you properly. Likely Kano lol.

Yeah mempool is at 8MB. highest I've seen it in months. Also, before 5 min ago a block hadn't been solved in an hour.

Seems like people be movin' their BTCs around! which i see as a good thing. Price rise plus increased mem pool = more interest in BTC

When a new block is added to the 100 in this average, the oldest block drops off, you have to take that into account too.    J. Balsley

Block!

Nice block, full of transaction fees! Cheesy

How do you all see this info?
Block size, "full of transaction fees" etcetera.
Im trying to understand blocks, but maybe i'm stupid, but the ice won't melt yet... Grin

To see block sizes, go to Pool / Blocks on Kano page, go down to last 88 blocks, click on link in Height column next to block , you'll see this link with info:
https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/block/519882

You can also put the Kano public address in a wallet and see and be notified of all the blocks.

I use bitWallet and also keep the public address of a couple of my hardware wallets in there as well. Allows me to watch incoming transactions without digging out my hardware wallet and keep a copy of my QR code handy.

Also, I just received a confirmation of yesterday's block being paid out this way.

By the way: where can i find all the adresses of the servers? (can't find em anymore... Different country's i remember but i dont see them.) I want to put backup servers as a second pool, so my miners won't switch to nicehash everytime they loose connection with Kano...

Look at the block size on the Pool/Blocks.  The latest block was 13.58131245 and a standard block is 12.50000000 so the difference is 1.08131245 which are the transaction fees we get to share on this pool and are stolen from you by pools that do not give them to the miners...antpoo for example. Hey Kanoists, I've been on pool 24/7 at ~13.5+ TH/s -- since 7 April, so for 18 days . . .
But on zach's monitor https://ckpoolmonitor.zachmonroe.com -- Avg5Nd (TH/s) has been slowly increasing but is still at 9.59 TH/s. Am I misunderstanding how ramp up or zach's monitor works? Or am I doing something wrong and losing out on coin? Or is all good and I can go to bed. Thx

It has to do with the luck for each block that are in the last 100...if a really good luck block drops to number 101 then the average luck just went down for the last 100 blocks.  The same thing if a monster block dropped to #101 the last 100 luck jumps up quite a bit. Cheesy

Why does blocks only go back 88 and not like 100? Any reason for this odd number, or just kano's random choice?

I've soooo wondered about that as well as other pages seemingly going back to random row counts...
