Yay! Our good ol' buddy 1FX brought us home a block! Thank ye, sir.
Yep! hell of a way to start the month, with a block less than an hour into the day! I just happened to still be up. My damn cable company pushed out a firmware update to my router - every time they do that, it causes havoc as the wifi is disabled and I have to log into the router directly and turn the wifi back on. I have several switches that are hooked to range extenders - I found this easier than running hundreds of feet of cat5 cable everywhere. But I was happy to see the block! made me go faster to get my network back up, just in case we had another block right after lol The good thing about 5Nd is if we hit a block while your wifi is down you would not lose anything...it would be just a blip on your HR chart! This is our 1st of BLOCK NOVEMBER! Time to get the block party cracking! can lose a little though as my overall contribution would drop - especially if I had not caught it before bed, then it would have been offline for 5-6 hours.

It's there for a reason.

5-6 hours on any pool makes a difference. some less than others for sure and some more as well.

Real-world example here is what happened to me a week ago: The kids got into the mining room and bumped the power cord or something on my 741, which knocked it out for the whole afternoon. After that valley dropped off the back-end of the 5Nd, my Shift Graph's avg bumped up 0.1TH/s... In retrospect, maybe I overreacted just a little bit in giving my kids up for adoption after they did that. Sure is quiet now, though.

Hey guys, still trying to work out why my share rate and hash rate are so much lower on 7 of my machines, and I'm not sure if its a coincidence but on these same 7 machines my share difficulty is constant at 4.098k. Also to give some background, I had to give these same 7 machines a static IP because they kept being assigned the same IP address on the network and it was causing confusion/disruption. Perhaps that has something to do with it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update to this, i just checked my network again and these 7 machines also all have the same MAC address... i think this is a network issue. Any feedback on how I can change the MAC address on each unit?

I think in the hardware section this problem was found with the s9i or another recent model. Unless someone else knows where, just look around the hardware section for the miner model and comments about the MAC address problem.

Thanks Kano, I figured it out if anyone has this issue; SSHd into each S9 and deleted the MAC file in config and did a reboot. On reboot each unit was assigned a unique MAC and I'm now in business hashing at full potential.

Interesting...it used to be in the not so distant past that unique MAC addresses were hard coded into each network device. I used to think of a MAC address as the burned-in address. At least I thought so Good thing you found a solution that worked

MAC addresses are, usually, "burned" in via the firmware of the device. That can usually be changed by flashing new firmware into the device. It's a bit too trivial an operation than I would have liked. I guess that's a consequence of OEM manufactures. Companies need to be able to burn in their company specific MAC when they integrate someone else's hardware.
