As a random question, I've been mining for years and I still don't know what the monitor checkbox does on the workers page on most pools. Anyone have any idea?

Hello @bensam1231 - the monitor checkbox when checked will email you when your worker goes down.  It is a great tool if you have multiple rigs and can't have constant access to them all the time.  I love the tool!

That's what I thought it did, but everytime I've had it checked it hasn't done anything... Guess broken pool implementation. -_-

28 S/s on a GTX 1080, Why this card sucks that much for mining?

Bcause GDDR5X?

Yes. It's weird and no one has taken time to optimize for it. Looks like the majority of coding support is on AMDs side, Nvidia development as sorta dried up. I'm very much starting to second guess buying 1070s over 480xs at this point. Besides the initial Lbry launch, they've been on par with 480s... only cost twice as much.

We'll see what happens this spring time after the fall of Ethereum, but as of right now Zcash looks set to overtake Ethereums spot and may just flip-flop with it.

Guys, I'd advise not to mine zcash directly on nicehash's zcash pool. I was mining there and on coinmine at the same time since yesterday and my overall balance on nicehash is roughly 1/7th of what it should have been based on my coinmine earnings My hashrate is reported just fine on their pool and their miner is faster but still. And apparently their payouts doesn't work yet.

Anyone know if there is a miner gpu that will work with    windows   vista?  zcash   thx

EDIT: on pause it says cuda driver version is insufficient ...I just got the latest drivers for 750ti.

Maybe a driver for the 980ti that supports 750ti?

ooooo sh%& I downloaded the wrong driver for my vista.  Cheesy

EDIT AGAIN : no .. Cuda driver version is insufficient for Cuda run time version in func  cuda_tromp :: get info  line 45

I installed the CUDA 8.0 toolkit to solve it: https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-downloads

Yup, I only mined on Nicehash for the first 4-5 hours or so till the pools got figured out, then I left... Nicehash has the smoothest launches, but definitely not the best payouts.

If someone wants to do the Zcash community a solid and take Nicehash's nheqminer and add the ability for a address line from a batfile and post it on the Zcash forums, there would be a lot of happy people. Right now .3a is hardcoded and eachpool has to make their own custom copy. Some pools are still stuck on .2a due to this, .3a being 30% faster.

.3a is currently limited to Nicehash and Suprnova, neither of which I'd like to use.

I buy private Nvidia miners. Send information and/or inquiries to my PM box.

I can't see where that would help on my old vista with 2x750ti's  but thx  Smiley

Cuda toolkit is only needed to compile. The latest drivers work for me on Win 7 & 8.1, is Vista still supported?
I haven't been able to mine with my vista.  And there is no intensity setting.

this mean that the speed should be like 50 for a 1070 at the very least

Not really. Most of the time is used to wait for the memory reads to finish. Zcash could be good in duial mining with another coin.
CPU 3770 make 10

You are doing something wrong, even my ivy bridge i7 laptop does 8 with -t 2. Any cpu with avx support matches nvidia gpu performance on zcash today, don't know about tomorrow.

Will this algo be like cryptonight for nvidia? I mean after 30 months it still runs at tdp of 60-70% hardware limited.

CURRENTLY MINING CRYPTONIGHT AND ZCASH--

I am currently mining Zcash in my Win 7 x64 computer, and CryptoNight with my 750ti rig.  The NiceHash binary conveniently miines with both CPU and a CUDA GPU concurrently.  For me, it means that I switched my Win 7 box from CryptoNight to Zcash; and I was mining CryptoNight with both my i7 2600 CPU and my 980ti.

If Zcash does not yield as much BTC as CryptoNight, I am switching back.  The NiceHash "nheqminer.exe" binary does run in a single console window, mining on CPU and GPU at the same time.  Convenient!   There is much less lag than when mining CryptoNight, also.      --scryptr

Agree with that, nheqminer is a masterpiece already.

750ti must be doing pretty well, not bad for a 1000 days old low budjet gpu...

But will we ever see a day when 900 or 1000 series nvidia is tdp limited when mining equihash?

Getting 10sol/s per 750ti at 40% tdp  the cards are freezing.   Grin

Yes..... the 1070 should be faster by 33% more the 980ti and that's not oc'ing my 980ti.

I'm still catching up on the thread.

Ok my 980ti is pointed at nh selling hash at 35sol/s .. but that miner is optimization I think for nicehash.
That maybe the problem with the 1070 not getting ~ 70sol/s.
I'm using nicehash nheqminer_v0.3a

EDIT:Sorry the cmd readout is hard to read long story short...57sol/s with 970 and 980ti. So about 35 on the 980ti.

ITERATIONS PER SECOND--

But I might be wrong on this.  My 980ti is getting 25 solutions per second (sols/s), that includes the 6 threads running on my i7 2600 CPU.

What kind of CPU do you have?  if there is an "-l 6" parameter in your launch line, there are also 6 threads running on your CPU.  Some CPUs can get better hash than an RX 480.       --scryptr

EDIT:  I'D BE HAPPY WITH AN SGMINER VERSION--

Wolf0 is working on an SGminer version.  It will mine ETH, XMR, and ZEC.  It is a part of the SGminer-GM project.       --scryptr

Thx  SGminer won't help me with nvidia or will it?.  The cpu is a 2 core running 3 cores or -t 3. There is a video about this cpu cores are 2x what one thinks for mining this if their hyperthreading.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVNGcF37jM4

Looks like nvidia is left in the dust only mining ZEC and not ZEC, ETH, and XMR.
