Factomd is for running a local node, u need the enterprise wallet aswel https://docs.factom.com/#install-enterprise-wallet

Its easier to just use the factom live node, no need for factomd and syncing will only take a few hours

I have Enterprise Wallet, and it is working fine. To bootstrap factomd, I downloaded the blockchain from CryptoChainer.com

You explained how to work around the problem, which was good and I thank you for that. But I wanted to see if I could fix the problem. This is because I've seen lots of other questions much like mine and nobody ever got an answer. Anyway, I wondered if I could get factomd to be happy if I gave it an empty text file in the path named 'factomd.conf'. It worked! The Control Panel at http://LocalHost:8090 says I'm now 100% synced on both pass 1 and pass 2.

can someone help me understand the fee for a transaction? i tried withdrawing 1fct from poloniex to enterprise wallet just to test, and i only received .9fct.

i can't find any details in poloniex specifiying the network fee of .1fct and am only given this tx id in my withdrawal history:

.1fct is equal to about $3 on a $30 withdrawal, so i'm a bit troubled by it.

Polo s been having these issues recently. Do not worry, your coins re not lost. They might get delayed for some time, even a few weeks. This is Polo issue so I suggest you open a ticket.

That is not the factom network fee, that is the fee that poloniex charges for a withdrawal. Exchanges can set any fee they want unfortunately.

it is fun to withdraw from Polo, im scared to withdraw..

last time when I have tryied, transaction was completed, but in blockchain nothing, so after begging them x times within 2 months finnaly they gave me factoms back on polo, not professional at all from their side!

I am very sorry to inform you that we are currently experiencing a momentary problem with the wallet and had to disable it for maintenance.

As soon as the wallet is re enabled your deposit will credit.

What is the best wallet to store factom?

I tried their enterprise wallet, but it is complex to use and I never got it working right. It is suppose to make it to the exodus wallet and some point. As of now I hear the paper wallet is the simplest wallet.

I really dont understand why do u say it s complex.

You install it.
You sync it.
You transfer Factoids.

How is that complex or different from any other wallet?

Actually Crazyivan with the legendary status  ...moving from only using exchanges to figuring out wallets for the first time can be a bit confusing for some of us. I am new to all of this and am in the process of learning about wallets. I too have found this to be intimidating at times. What is extremely simple for the seasoned is brand new to others.

Stick wit the "Running Enterprise Wallet Online" option. In this case you don't have to download the blockchain.

Sorry bud, it was not my intention to insult you in any way. Let us know what exactly is a problem for you and I ll try to help you out.

For now, you need to go the this link https://docs.factom.com/#run-enterprise-wallet-locally and read how to install enterprise wallet. Then go here, https://github.com/FactomProject/distribution find a download link for Enterprise wallet for Windows 64 or Mac, depending what you use, download it and install it. It s an .exe file. Once you do, I suggest you use cloud node, on that first link there is subtitle "run enterprise wallet online" follow that one to synchronise your wallet to a 100%. There is another option to download Factom chain but it s more complicated so go with the simple option. Once you do that and your wallet syncs to 100%, you re done. All you need to do is to send your tokens to the wallet.

Update from stuck FACTOM  Poloniex deposit.

I've been waiting for days for any update from Poloniex, but still no luck.. They aren't responding to any of my questions, they have terrible service & are severely understaffed.  You would think they're located on the international space station or something because there down to skeleton crew over there, heck they might as well be on the moon because I can't reach them.. I don't understand how these guys can make a killing off trading fees yet lack the common sense to hire more help! It's just plain greed! They want more profits and less overhead at the cost of making there user base suffer! Damn I wish we had better options to buy & sell crypto then these HACK JOB EXCHANGES!!!

But: The 1 FCT was stuck now ;-) I've done that again, at least 3 times. A deposit is stuck and I send a small amount to "free" it and it worked.

My last deposits went well but something is not right. I doubt it's a Factom-problem because I never had that problem with Bittrex.

Maybe try it - but only a small amount of course.

What kind of problem did you have? Was it "awating approval" or something else?
