Forum Moderators: please lock this thread. I also suggest that unless BAN are prepared to actually communicate with their ripped-off miners, they should be banned from opening yet another useless thread in the future.
We wouldn't lock the thread for that reason alone as the ability to discuss the pool needs to go somewhere so that users can make up their own minds based on the most recent discussion, but we wouldn't allow multiple duplicate threads.

Shame, but worth a try  Wink

Oh well, let the scamming, moaning, lying, thieving, b*llshitting & general crap continue then........ Cheesy

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

There are plenty other threads. If you don't like this one why not find a thread more suitable for you.

Thank you ckolivas for bringing some reasoning to what was being suggested. Some of the problems the pool has needs to be discussed so miners can decide if they chose to mine there or not.  Even though I don't mine there at the moment I still rather have a place that I can share my experience with this pool, both the good and the bad.

All the bitching, scamming, moaning etc is mainly coming from 1 person who from his very first post and most of the rest has jumped on every mention of BAN that can be found.

I've been around long enough to think I'm pretty good at spotting a scammer and IMHO s0br is not one.

Sure the pool has not been perfect and mistakes have been made, but the bottom line is I've always got paid. For a long period of time it was at 110% PPS so I've been paid way more than I would have got at any other pool, it's a strange scammer who gives away money to his miners and who frequently buys BTC out of his own pocket to compensate for downtime or buys hashpower from rental sites to help the pool solve blocks.

The only time I left the pool was when I hadn't received a payment for around 8 days, it wasn't because I thought I wasn't going to get paid it I knew I would, it was because I needed the BTC to pay my hosting bill so jumped on another PPS pool for a day where I got 5% less and much worse stats, my payment arrived not long after the switch and I moved back.

I can't say I blame s0br for staying away from this thread, if I was spending that much money I'd be rather pissed at all the moaning.

Bottom Line, for me it is the #1 mining pool, and all my machines will remain there.  But everyone has a choice if you want to mine elsewhere and get 5% less, or join one of the many PPLNS pools and deal with the shitty luck runs where you only get 85% payouts go right ahead.

Don't forget the good luck runs where you get 200% payouts. Remember it all evens out to 100% in the end.

In theory, and over a long enough time frame sure, but the long term trend is rising difficulty so what you get now is more important than what you get later.

Is there an active pool with >=100% over it's lifetime, BTCGuild the only one I have handy is at 97% so it's pretty close considering orphans, their 3 month is 93.5 and 1 month 84.2 all of which are <101 or the previous 110 Smiley

yeah please leave the thread up.   here is my take they pay slow.  I have been fully paid.  I no longer miner here since I have about 14th and earn more then .12 btc a day I fear they could skip.

They have not skipped.

I may go back to them but for now I use:

 pool kano's pool

Update: I have been paid the 7.71% shortage resulting from the difficulty change/late payment combination.

For the moment I'm going to continue mining elsewhere, but I will be watching this thread for future consideration.

Been with BAN since the day I started mining. Payments relatively regularly, no fee.

All I see is a couple specific accounts going to the end of the world to spread lies and bash this pool.

Maybe the bashers have a vested interest in another competing pool and want to sway hashrate away from their competition.

I moved this here from the Slush thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1976.msg10481828#msg10481828

I've earned 0.00071229 in 30 minutes.  On slush I get approx. 0.008 per block.  At this rate it will take approx. 5.5 hours to earn 0.008btc

However.  By entering the last 10 block durations at http://www.csgnetwork.com/timescalc.html it gives an average duration of 5 hours 24 minutes.

10 previous was average 5 hours 16 minutes.

So, no real difference there.  Might go looking at some other pools to compare.

Unless some pool gets super lucky BAN pays the best because it is PPS with no fees and 1% bonus.
Except when they don't pay or they reduce your payout PPS rate because they feel like paying you less than they should Tongue

did you submit a ticket?  there are quite a few on this very forum who have submitted a ticket and got paid.

so, did you submit a ticket?
I have always gotten what I thought I had coming, the problem is once I just happened to be on IRC chat when a problem was talked about and I had to sumit a ticket to get paid, which I didn't catch on my own. So it makes me wonder how many times I didn't catch something, which never crossed my mind until the lowered amounts in people's accounts because of the diff change  that happened to everyone and they should not have to beg to be paid the right amount. This happened to all so the pool should go back and pay all the miners not just the ones that sumit a ticket.

EdIt: If the pool wants to be 100% transparent then an email should have been sent out to all miners explaining what happened and what the pool was going to do to make all miners 100% whole not just the ones that sumitted tickets.

Maybe some do and then some just like to follow others but then some have no hate for this pool other than to expect things to be ran right.

now this is a good point.

This is why we log every share ever submitted to have the opportunity to go back and rectify an errors. We now tag the shares with the network diff they were submitted at so it doesn't happen again. It's been fixed. When the difficulty dropped I did pay the higher PPS rate. I think only one person noticed that. Smiley

sobr thank you for the update. Its not the miners fault they were not paid on time and it should not be up to the miners to track to make sure the pay is correct one way or the other. This is where the pool should be trustworthy, and someone (most likely one of the larger miners) seen their pending payout go down after the difficulty change. I would think its an easy thing to miss if the pending payout goes UP as that's is what most miners would expect to see their pending go up but never down without being paid.   If after you check the log and find you have over paid me at any time please let me know and I will gladly refund you any amount I owe.

There are plenty of us that want the pool to stay around but such a simple thing as a statement or email would go a long way. I know your a good guy and I have defended you and this pool against unjustified BS many times, but the pool has strayed from some of the basic points that you founded it on and it would just help if you had made it  clear how certain things are handled going forward. There are a lot of miners that dont find IRC chat the best for getting information. I hope this helps some.

Well, well - the constant posting paid off then. Welcome back to your own thread Mr Transparency.

This:

I will publish a statement soon addressing some issues and concerns here. It's just a simple matter of providing more information.

...sounds a lot like this:

Anyway... I'll get back to you about those pics...

...which was the last thing you said on your scam thread before going into hiding for 2 months....... Roll Eyes

Also:

This is why we log every share ever submitted to have the opportunity to go back and rectify an errors. We now tag the shares with the network diff they were submitted at so it doesn't happen again. It's been fixed.

So that means you'll be able to go back the last 6 months & pay all the miners what you owe them up until the "issue" was fixed then? That's good. I look forward to hearing from everyone on here when they get what you owe them  Wink

Looking forward to your statement about everyone questions & concerns - this will be interesting  Smiley

PS: Is it coincidence that your self anointed spokesman "jammers" starts PM'ing me on the same day you decide to show your face here again? It's on your scam thread if you didn't read/write it already, which is eagerly awaiting your return.......but please use your "s0br" account this time  Wink

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=782765.msg10485257#msg10485257

PPS: Why are you advertising 10% bonus in your sig when you are only "supposedly" paying 1%? You really are a stickler for false advertising eh?  Roll Eyes

@ s0br of BAN: Stop being a chicken sh*t & answer the questions like you keep saying you will, or stay the proven scammer you are!! s0br/BAN scam thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=782765.0
