Today we found 4 blocks already so payments should get back to normal Cheesy
That's some pretty nice luck Smiley

Aaaand we just found another one  Grin

It appears that 3 out of the 5 blocks were found by s0br himself renting rigs Shocked

renting rigs??  How do you know that?

Also there is an account/rig called sp31 that seems to have found quite a few blocks since last fall.  That just seems like an incredible run of luck, right??

The number of pool workers has decreased quite a bit since the dry streak of a few weeks ago. But when the pool operator cranks up his rigs, whether rented or whatever, we crank out blocks like crazy. 7 blocks in the last 30+ hours.

coincidental??

Don't expect to see any payments for the blocks your transparent, constantly posting pool owner s0br mined any time soon, at least not until he's lowered your owed payments again at least. You have to pay for his rentals so that he can pocket your hard earned btc remember?  Roll Eyes

Wise up ladies & gentlemen..........you are being screwed.

If this pool has handled payouts like this since the beginning, that's just plain old sloppy coding.  Of course, the opposite of what's happening now should have happened during the last difficulty change.  Can anyone confirm if their pending payouts actually went up by 6.14% on 1/27?

How you can code a pool and not account for changes in share values due to network difficulty adjustments is rank amateurism.

Confirmed...
No payouts from 1/22 to 1/29, then payment on 1/29 at the 6.05724720410961E-010 rate.  Too bad I didn't have as many miners pointed to BAN at that time (I only had one miner pointed here part time).  This time though I'm looking at a much bigger loss.
Hahaha... oh that's just pathetic.  I'm not laughing at you, so please don't take my laughter that way.  I'm laughing because of the exceptionally poorly implemented payout logic code that doesn't bother to handle network difficulty adjustments.  Looks like somebody forgot to QA their code...

OR, s0br is adjusting the payouts manually in line with the diff change in the vain hope that his miners won't notice - & if they do, put it down to diff change & say nothing....... Wink
LOL...

update miner_shares set share_value='0.00000000056236';
commit;

He would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for those meddling kids!

I never got emails explaining anything.  I did finally get my payout yesterday (after 11 days without payouts).  It did indeed have 7.71% missing due to the difficulty adjustment near the end of those 11 days.  BAN wasn't doing partial payments during those 11 days but instead was picking and choosing who was paid, so not everyone took the 7.71% hit on as many days worth.

IMO, handling difficulty changes in PPS the way BAN does is not the brightest idea.  If there is another difficulty drop, before the drop anyone could set their payout for 24 hours and earn extra for nearly a day at the expense of the pool.  Likewise, always hop off and never let a payout cross an increase!  The pool can probably handle it though-- there are far more increases available to skim from those who do not know any better!

According to their site, there are currently 1356 miners on BAN - so, 7.7% of all those miners income is stolen & goes where? That's a lot of btc to go missing every payday eh?

Kano, no offence. But I'm mining on your pool right now, and your interface is shocking. You don't even show people how much they've earned, your stats is the wallet address with no basic information that i'm supposed to search for my wallet address, and manually add up the payments. So it's a bit rich for you to be talking. i see everything on BAN, and my wallet matches up

And if s0br made a mistake with the way the difficulty change was calculated, he's human ffs. noone was put out and it was fixed.

Well ... I read my post ... then read the first part of your reply ... and see no association at all to my question.

If you don't like that I still haven't added the payout details to the web site yet on my site, by all means don't mine there until I do.

But that has nothing to do with the rather simple question I asked regarding what tlhIlwI said ...

And if s0br made a mistake with the way the difficulty change was calculated, he's human ffs. noone was put out and it was fixed.
You start by saying "if" then end with saying "was fixed"
It's one or the other ... it happened and was fixed, or it didn't happen and didn't need fixing (or it happened and wasn't fixed Tongue)
... and you are suggesting that tlhIlwI is lying ...

noone was put out and it was fixed.

From BAN:

Code:
Time: 2015-02-12 00:59:27 Total Amount: 0.37029366 (Payout: 0.36662739 + Bonus: 0.00366627) Donation: 0 Shares: 651942897 Avg Hashrate from last payment: 2,937.76 GH/s

The math on that comes out 5.623612002 E-10.  That is almost exactly the new share rate, not the rate that the shares were mined at.

Fixed?  Huh

seems odd to me that someone who runs their own pool is also on another pool.  I am really not sure what to make of this.

rkinnin,

I'm not sure if that was for me or kano. I don't run a pool, I run a site which among other things reviews mining pools at http://bitcoinsinireland.com/category/bitcoin-mining-pools/ and that's how I came across BAN via the mining thing on blocktrail. And also, there's been edits to this review as things have gone (just like to BTC Guild when they made changes), so the most recent edit when I got back from my holidays (after a reader had mentioned it), did say that there were delays to some payments, although in my experience they caught up to date. Mind you, I was away 24 jan - 9 feb, and my miners http://bitcoinsinireland.com/the-bitcoinsinireland-review-mining-rig/ were offline while I was away getting serviced, cleaned out, and pencil modded. And I thought it was standard practice that most pools hold a chunk of funds outside of the hot wallet that their pool software uses for managing payouts.

At the moment, doing up reviews for Slush, Antpool, CKPool, Eclipse MC, Bitminter, MMPool and Triple Mining, and then will continue to go through all of the other publically joinable pools in the 1 year, pool distribution list at https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC

And for context, ...Really and an organised group of people/accounts jumped on my review when I had done my first 4 at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=837551.0;wap2, which blitzed nearly half a dozen very insulting comments - at 3am my time - which set my phone ringing like a mad thing, waking my wife and me. Which were trigged by this post -
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=821287.msg9375692#msg9375692

...Really was pissed off well before this came on, and I think most people will make up their own judgement on his continual trolling. I don't tolerate anonymous abuse. Constructive criticism, always, and if I'm pointed out wrong/incorrect on something, I amend it.

I tried this pool out when it first started but stopped because of the late/missing/short payments. That was 6 months ago before they got caught scamming & creaming the top off of miners payouts - reading through this "New" thread (s0br locked the first one when the scam was exposed), it seems that nothing has changed. Getting support is impossible as the pool OP never posts here, although there are many shills/fake accounts who like to post on his behalf...... Roll Eyes

If I were you, I'd use a pool that has a cleaner reputation - it's just not worth the risk or hassle  Wink

Exactly. This is taken from their first locked thread, note the date:

If you browse through the first BAN thread, you will see many, many complaints like this. s0br has been ripping off miners since the start - that is why he doesn't post & is why he disappeared for 2 months before opening this "new" BAN thread, hoping the community had forgotten about his rip-off pool. You can read more about it here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=722202.msg8588793#msg8588793

Edit: At least they're only creaming 7.7 % off your earnings now - about half of what they were stealing..... Roll Eyes
